As a Staff Software Engineer, Frontend on the Advanced Trading team within the Consumer & Business group, you'll lead the front-end technical strategy for Coinbase Advanced, our trading platform for experienced traders. You'll own the performance, reliability, and scalability of our web and mobile trading clients, driving low-latency interfaces that serve traders across multiple instrument types. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of crypto, trading infrastructure, and consumer product, where your technical leadership will shape both the platform and the engineering team building it. What you'll do: * Own the front-end technical roadmap for Coinbase Advanced, defining architecture decisions that enable a reliable, scalable trading platform across web and mobile * Drive measurable performance improvements across rendering, network efficiency, and state management to deliver a low-latency trading experience * Lead complex, multi-quarter technical initiatives end-to-end, setting and enforcing high standards for code quality, system design, and engineering rigor * Strengthen the engineering team through hands-on mentorship of senior engineers, elevating technical decision-making and fostering growth across the subteam * Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate business priorities into actionable technical plans and ship high-impact features * Shape front-end engineering practices and patterns that scale with a growing team, establishing conventions that accelerate development velocity Required Skills and Experience: * 8+ years of software engineering experience with deep expertise in modern front-end frameworks (React, React Native, or equivalent) and mobile development environments * Proven track record optimizing complex UI systems for performance, including rendering optimization, network efficiency, and state management at scale * Experience leading technical strategy for a product area, including architecture decisions, trade-off analysis, and cross-team alignment for multi-quarter initiatives * Demonstrated success mentoring senior engineers and driving measurable improvements in team engineering standards and delivery velocity * Familiarity with high-availability, low-latency systems (trading platforms, financial systems, or real-time data applications preferred) * Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality. The CX Automation team within Coinbase's Enterprise Applications & Architecture (EAA) org engineers seamless, proactive, and intelligent customer experiences by maximizing automation to resolve service needs and optimizing human-assisted channels for high-value interactions. As a Staff Product Manager, you'll own product strategy and end-to-end delivery for the support surfaces through which the majority of Coinbase customer interactions take place. Your work will directly drive the team's goals to maximize automation rates while maintaining high customer satisfaction, shaping how millions of customers experience Coinbase support. What you'll do: * Own the product roadmap and end-to-end delivery for chat, voice, and proactive support surfaces, defining how automated and human-assisted interactions flow across channels to deliver a seamless experience for both customers and agents. * Drive automation rate and CSAT improvements by identifying the highest-impact opportunities to deflect contacts before they become issues, reach out to customers proactively, and optimize the handoff from automated to human-assisted resolution. * Build AI-integrated capabilities across support surfaces by partnering with the Intelligence team (ML/LLM) and 3P AI vendors to bring intelligent routing, AI-assisted responses, and automation workflows into chat and voice experiences. * Partner with Engineering, CX Operations, Data Science, and Compliance to ensure support surfaces built on Amazon Connect, Sprinklr, and internal platforms are reliable, scalable, and compliant across all operating jurisdictions. * Shape P&L impact through tooling optimization and deprecation, evaluating build-vs-buy tradeoffs and scoping the market for emerging CX technologies that accelerate automation goals. Required Skills and Experience: * 7+ years of product management experience, with demonstrated depth in both customer-facing product surfaces (front-end UX) and platform/systems work (back-end APIs, integrations, data flows) - not exclusively one or the other. * Experience building or scaling AI-powered customer support products, including automation workflows, intelligent routing, chatbots, or LLM-based assistants across chat, voice, or self-service channels. * Track record of defining and tracking success metrics across complex funnels (automation rate, CSAT, deflection rate, resolution time) and using data to drive prioritization decisions. * Experience partnering across multiple product groups and stakeholders without owning end-to-end UX, with proven ability to influence outcomes and align priorities in a matrixed environment. * Utilizes generative AI responsibly, maintaining human oversight to deliver business-ready outputs and drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.   Pay Transparency Notice: Base salary varies by location (see range below). The Difference You Will Make: Estimating the causal impact of product changes is a core function of data science at Airbnb. This is typically done through short term experiments or quasi-experiments. However, ultimately we are interested not in maximizing the short term impact of what we do, but rather optimizing for the long term. Doing this well requires accurately estimating the long term impact of platform changes through frameworks that connect short-term outcomes to long-term impact.  In this role, you will develop and improve our frameworks for long-term impact estimation and own the most important estimation problems you identify. We are looking for someone that can develop the science and ensure it is fitted to Airbnb's problem space and stakeholder needs. Success is better long-term impact estimation in practice, not just in theory. A Typical Day:  * Develop causal estimates for long-term impact of short-term metric movements. * Build frameworks for estimating how the impact of product changes evolves over time.  * Create frameworks and tooling to evaluate the heterogeneous impact of product changes * Develop and apply causal inference methods, including experimental, econometric regressions, and quasi-experimental methods to measure a wide-range of platform/product impacts. Your Expertise: * Advanced degree in a quantitative field, e.g. Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics, Physics * Proven ability to design analytical solutions to complex problems with real world applications * Familiarity with recent developments in causal inference * 6+ years (with Ph.D) or 8+ yrs (with Masters) of experience of working or doing research in one or more experimentation / causal inference domains * Strong programming (R, Python / Scala / Java / C++ or equivalent) skills * Versatility to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences. * Publications or presentations in recognized Data Science journals/conferences is a plus.
