About the Role: You will be part of a highly collaborative product team working at the core of our manufacturing facility transforming digital models into physical elements at scale.  Product Teams at GROPYUS own what they build, including underlying infrastructure, build pipelines, automated testing, release and rollout management, monitoring, and support. You will be trusted to solve problems efficiently and effectively building on top of a solid architecture and operational foundation and will be encouraged to seek out under-attended topics and assume responsibility for them both within your product area as well as across product areas.  As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for integrating and coordinating the PLC, Robot and 3rd-party systems which manufacture wall and slab elements. You will write software – both alone as well as in pair with your team colleagues, ensure functionality with a solid testing approach and deploy and rollout changes to the live systems. Furthermore, our teams are also responsible for operating and troubleshooting the software they have developed during working hours of the factory.  What you’ll be doing: As a Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d) on the Product Delivery team, you will be responsible for:  * Designing, building, testing and operating software solutions for logistics and manufacturing use cases incl. Robots, AGVs and other (semi) automated manufacturing equipment.  * Working in a hybrid infrastructure environment (cloud and on-prem), managing complex software deployments at scale  * Bringing a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) mindset to monitor, maintain, and improve software uptime including reliable updates, latency, and efficiency  * Acting as a bridge between digital product delivery & physical logistics and manufacturing systems, ensuring both are aligned and integrated  * Helping define, monitor and evolve SLAs/SLOs as well as other important KPIs like e.g. OEE for critical systems  What you bring: * You are an experienced software engineer– preferably with a background in manufacturing or logistics systems, Site Reliability Engineering or software system operations  * You possess practical experience in some / all key areas of modern software development, including infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines incl. quality assurance, and scaling * You have operated and supported large-scale software systems in cloud and non-cloud environments (on-premise)  * You have worked in companies with strong operational cultures, ideally in logistics or manufacturing – understanding the commercial impact of system downtime * You are proficient with most of the following technologies:  * Kotlin / SpringBoot  * Kubernetes  * Linux  * PostgreSQL  * Python / Bash is a plus   * You bring Cloud Operations experience  * Experience with Azure is a bonus * You are familiar with monitoring and alerting practices for production systems * You have experience defining and working with SLAs/SLOs WHAT WE OFFER: * An unlimited contract with 30 vacation days.   * Flexible, hybrid work: You can work from home or come into the office on the schedule that works best for you. Du entwickelst Software – sowohl eigenständig als auch im Pair Programming mit deinen Teamkolleg:innen, stellst die Funktionalität durch solide Tests sicher und führst Deployments sowie Rollouts in die Live-Systeme durch. Darüber hinaus sind unsere Teams auch für den Betrieb und die Fehlerbehebung der entwickelten Software während der Arbeitszeiten im Werk verantwortlich. DEINE AUFGABEN Als Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d) im Product Delivery Team übernimmst du folgende Verantwortlichkeiten: * Design, Entwicklung, Test und Betrieb von Softwarelösungen für Logistik- und Fertigungsanwendungen inkl. Roboter, FTS und andere (teil-)automatisierte Fertigungsanlagen * Arbeiten in einer hybriden Infrastruktur (Cloud und On-Prem), Verwaltung komplexer Software-Deployments im großen Maßstab * Einbringen eines Site-Reliability-Engineering- Mindsets zur Überwachung, Wartung und Verbesserung der Systemverfügbarkeit inkl. zuverlässiger Updates, Latenz und Effizienz * Brückenfunktion zwischen digitaler Produktentwicklung und physischen Logistik- sowie Fertigungssystemen, um deren Integration sicherzustellen * Mitwirkung bei der Definition, Überwachung und Weiterentwicklung von SLAs/SLOs sowie wichtigen KPIs wie z. OEE für kritische Systeme DAS BRINGST DU MIT * Mehrjährige Erfahrung als Software Engineer – idealerweise mit Hintergrund in Fertigungs- oder Logistiksystemen, Site-Reliability-Engineering oder Software-Systembetrieb in einer Smart Factory * Praktische Erfahrung in Schlüsselbereichen moderner Softwareentwicklung: Infrastruktur, Observability, Testing, Deployment-Pipelines inkl. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will help evolve manufacturing systems from vendor-driven PLC and robot logic toward a modern, software-defined architecture. A central part of the role is to understand existing control logic, abstract it into maintainable software components, and gradually migrate relevant functionality into Python-based services and simulation-ready systems.  Furthermore, our teams are also responsible for operating and troubleshooting the software they have developed during working hours of the factory. What you’ll be doing: As a Senior Software Engineer (f/m/d) on the Product Delivery team, you will be responsible for: * Analyze and explain existing PLC (Siemens TIA Portal), robot (KUKA KRL), and OT code from external vendors, and help translate that knowledge into shared engineering understanding  * Design and implement Python-based software components that replace, abstract, or orchestrate legacy PLC and robot logic  * Build maintainable, testable, and well-structured services with a strong focus on code quality, modularity, and long-term ownership * Bringing an operational mindset to monitor, maintain, and improve software uptime including reliable updates, latency, and efficiency * Acting as a bridge between digital product delivery & physical logistics and manufacturing systems, ensuring both are aligned and integrated * Helping define, monitor and evolve SLAs/SLOs as well as other important KPIs like e.g. OEE for critical systems What you bring: * You are an experienced software engineer with very good coding skills in Python or another modern object-oriented programming language such as C++ or C#.  * You have a solid understanding of software design, abstraction, modularity, and maintainable system architecture.  * You have experience writing clean, testable, production-grade code and applying modern software engineering practices such as code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD.  * You are confident working in operationally critical environments where reliability, observability, and controlled change management matter.  * You have the ability to understand and gradually modernize legacy systems without losing business continuity.  * You are able to communicate effectively across software, manufacturing, and operations domains.  Nice to have:  * You have experience with PLC programming, industrial robots, or OT systems.  * You are familiar with KUKA KRL, OPC-UA, MQTT, or similar industrial integration technologies.  * You have worked in logistics, manufacturing, or other production-critical environments.  * You are familiar with simulation-driven development or digital twins.  WHAT WE OFFER: * An unlimited contract with 30 vacation days.   * Flexible, hybrid work: You can work from home or come into the office on the schedule that works best for you.
