We help customers adopt Attio quickly, integrate it smoothly, and unlock lasting impact. With technical fluency and deep empathy, we guide teams through complex use cases, share insights that shape the product, and turn great onboarding into long-term success. We're looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who is an expert Go To Market Engineer, opinionated, and deeply customer-obsessed — and wants to help reinvent how millions of people work. WHAT YOU'LL DO * Deploy into Attio's highest-value customers to architect, advice, and deploy a best-in-class GTM stack, with Attio at it's core * Design best-practice Attio configurations tailored to each customer's specific business model and GTM motion, from data architecture to integrations to cross-team rollout * Lead and execute time-boxed build projects, delivering real working product: data models, integrations, sequences, workflows, SDK apps * Build and architect custom API integrations and no-code automations (Zapier, N8n, Make, and equivalents) to connect Attio to the rest of a customer's stack * Collaborate with Customer Success Managers as a technical counterpart to jointly manage shared accounts * Identify where customers are blocked, under-adopted, or leaving value on the table * Bring customer insight back to our Product team, acting as a a direct line between our highest value customers and our roadmap * Design a range of engagement models — from Expert referrals to self-serve playbooks — that match support to customer need, and continuously iterate on how Attio delivers world-class outcomes at scale WHAT YOU'LL BRING * 2+ years as a developer, GTM engineer, or in a technical solutions role * Deep hands-on experience with GTM tooling — you understand how sales, CS, and marketing teams operate and what actually matters to the people using these tools every day * Technical depth and ability to architect API integrations live in customer meetings * Hands-on experience building with AI coding platforms (Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalents) to ship JavaScript and create reusable internal tooling * A genuine curiosity about the AI landscape and a habit of experimenting early — you're not waiting for the use case to be obvious before you start building * Strong command of the no-code/low-code integration stack — N8n, Zapier, Make — and the ability to quickly form a credible opinion on an unfamiliar tool * Comfort with data infrastructure concepts: ETL, reverse ETL, CDPs, tools like Segment, Rudderstack, and Polytomic WHAT DOES THE HIRING PROCESS LOOK LIKE? 1. 30-minute introductory phone call with a member of our Talent team 2. 30-minute interview with our hiring manager 3. In this role, you’ll work hands-on with customers adopting emerging Figma developer workflows, starting with Make Local, to understand their technical environments, unblock implementation, and translate real-world deployment patterns into product and engineering insights. You’ll partner closely with Customer Experience, Solutions Consulting, Sales, Product, and Engineering to help customers get to value faster while shaping how Figma builds and scales a new Forward Deployed Engineering motion. This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States. WHAT YOU'LL DO AT FIGMA: * Partner directly with strategic customers to understand their technical goals, workflows, codebase environments, and implementation constraints * Lead technical discovery and readiness assessments for customer deployments, including repo/environment setup, permissions, configuration needs, and potential adoption blockers * Provide hands-on implementation support for Make Local and related developer-facing workflows, including setup guidance, debugging, escalation triage, and recommendations on technical implementation patterns * Work closely with Customer Enablement Managers, Solutions Consultants, Sales, and account teams to align on customer goals, stakeholders, success criteria, timelines, and account context * Capture and synthesize product gaps, bugs, workflow patterns, technical blockers, and customer feedback for Product and Engineering teams * Create reusable deployment assets such as technical troubleshooting guides, readiness checklists, account intake templates, implementation playbooks, and customer-facing enablement materials * Help define how Figma should measure success for forward deployed engineering engagements, including time to first workflow, setup success, adoption, active usage, customer feedback, and support effort * Contribute to the operating model for Figma’s Forward Deployed Engineering function, helping determine where FDE support is most valuable, how engagements should be scoped, and how the function should scale WE’D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU HAVE: * Experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Software Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Technical Consultant, Sales Engineer, Developer Advocate, or similar * Strong understanding of modern software development practices, including source control, local development environments, deployment workflows, debugging, and build tooling * Proven ability to partner with enterprise customers to solve complex technical challenges and drive successful product implementations * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences across cross-functional teams * Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguous environments by creating scalable processes, collaborating across teams, and leveraging emerging technologies such as AI and modern developer workflows WHILE IT’S NOT REQUIRED, IT’S AN ADDED PLUS IF YOU ALSO HAVE: * Strong familiarity with developer, design, collaboration, or AI products, particularly those that connect design and engineering workflows * Proven success partnering with enterprise customers on implementation, onboarding, migrations, technical enablement, and product adoption * Solid understanding of modern engineering practices, including frontend development, design systems, component libraries, CI/CD pipelines, monorepos, and Dev Infrastructure * Demonstrated ability to build, scale, or launch customer-facing technical functions, pilot programs, services, or engineering practices * Ability to translate customer insights and deployment trends into product strategy, documentation, roadmap recommendations, and engineering priorities At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go.
