We’re looking for an Engineering Manager I to lead a high-impact team building and supporting Pinterest’s mid-funnel ad products, including Max-Width Collections, Promoted Board Takeover, Collage Ads, Ads Modules, Showcase Ads, and Quiz Ads. This role owns a portfolio of revenue-critical, time-sensitive products and is responsible for driving both the technical direction and execution needed to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions. What you’ll do: * Lead an engineering team delivering mid-funnel ad products end to end, ensuring projects are well-scoped, de-risked, and shipped on time with strong performance against target metrics. * Drive initiatives to apply AI across mid-funnel ad products, using AI to accelerate prototyping, experimentation, and iteration while maintaining quality and safety. * Champion AI adoption in developer workflows, using AI to automate repeatable tasks (e.g., testing, documentation, code reviews) and improve engineering velocity and capacity. * Use AI to synthesize complex inputs (metrics, experiments, user feedback, incidents) into clear insights that inform roadmap, tradeoffs, and technical decisions. * Serve as the engineering owner for this workstream: define the technical roadmap, architecture, and long-term vision in partnership with cross-functional partners (PM, Design, DS, PMM). * Actively contribute code and lead implementation of key projects, setting a high technical bar and modeling best practices in design, testing, and observability. * Build and maintain a healthy, high-trust team culture, providing coaching, feedback, and career development support to engineers at different levels. * Partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to align on priorities, manage dependencies, and communicate progress, risks, and outcomes clearly. The Advertiser and Seller Experience team builds intelligent systems that help Pinterest advertisers and sellers move from insight to action. Our work spans advertiser-facing products such as Ads Manager as well as internal seller productivity tools that help sales teams identify opportunities, prepare customer conversations, troubleshoot campaign performance, and drive advertiser growth. As a Staff Machine Learning Engineer focused on Agentic AI & Recommendations, you will lead the ML strategy and execution for the intelligence layer behind these experiences. This is a high-impact Staff IC role for someone who wants to combine deep recommendation systems expertise with modern agentic AI to shape how Pinterest advertisers and sellers work.
