Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run. We want you as a talented System Engineer to help us in our mission by assisting in the preparation and execution of functional and environmental tests, maintaining requirement traceability, and documenting results to support verification closure. Working closely with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams, you help ensure the Nyx perform as intended throughout the mission lifecycle. Key Responsibilities In your capacity as a System Engineer, your role will continuously evolve, but initially your day-to-day duties will include: * Support the definition and implementation of the Nyx Earth system integration and verification activities, which meets technical and programmatic requirements and considers the adequacy of model philosophy, facilities availability, planning and costing. * Define test plans and specifications with clear Success Criteria and support the generation of test procedures with the team. * Support the preparation, organization and execution of the spacecraft functional system campaigns to ensure the closure of all system safety and performance requirement, including nominal and off nominal spacecraft behaviors. * Coordinate the integration and test of subsystems and components to ensure alignment and connectivity of the higher-level integrated systems * Organize the reviews and preparation of related data packages in support of integration and verification activities. * Generate reports and products that drive the closure of verifications associated with the events. * Collaborate with all Functional Chain responsible and engineering disciplines to prepare and perform the tests. * Process the anomalies occurring during the test campaign in coordination with the Product Assurance Team and the rest of the Engineering Team. What we would love to see from you In the role of AIV Engineer ideally, you will have the following: * 1 to 5 years of experience in systems design, analysis, and testing of aerospace or space-related systems. * Hands-on hardware experience. * Practical experience / contact with functional test platforms, such as software in the loop, hardware in the loop, and bench testing. * Experience working with spacecraft requirements, NASA standards, and ECSS Standards * Experience in the development and verification of space hardware. * Spacecraft systems knowledge, with a focus on flight software, avionics, and guidance, navigation, and control. YOUR MISSION Kreios Space is building the next generation of satellite for Very Low Earth Orbit (VLEO). We are looking for a Satellite Operations Engineer to help define, prepare and execute mission operations for satellites flying closer to Earth than conventional platforms. In this role, you will contribute across the full operational lifecycle, from mission preparation and validation on ground to launch, early operations, commissioning and routine in-orbit activities. You will work hands-on with flight operations concepts, procedures, telemetry analysis and operational planning, while collaborating closely with systems, software and mission teams. This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys turning complex mission concepts into safe, disciplined and scalable operations in a demanding technical environment. YOUR PROFILE What you will do * Own the definition, planning and execution of spacecraft operations for VLEO missions. * Prepare operational concepts, timelines, procedures and command sequences for nominal and off-nominal scenarios. * Contribute to launch, early operations and commissioning activities, including readiness preparation and anomaly response support. * Monitor spacecraft telemetry and assess platform and payload health, performance and trends. * Work with mission analysis and systems engineering teams to translate mission objectives into practical operational constraints and workflows. * Collaborate with flight software and ground segment teams to validate operational tools, interfaces and automation scripts. * Support simulation campaigns, integrated tests and mission rehearsals before flight. * Develop contingency procedures, operational checklists and mission documentation. * Contribute to the continuous improvement of operations processes, data review methods and console practices. * Coordinate operational inputs with external partners when needed, including ground segment and mission support providers. What we are looking for * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics or a similar technical discipline. * Solid understanding of spacecraft architecture, subsystems and mission operations principles. * Experience in satellite operations, mission preparation, AIV, system validation or a comparable hands-on space environment. * Experience with Python, MATLAB or similar scripting and analysis tools. * Comfort working with multidisciplinary engineering teams in a fast-moving development context. * Clear written and verbal communication in English. * A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership of operational topics from definition to execution. Nice to have * Experience with mission analysis or orbit simulation tools such as STK or equivalent. * Knowledge of ECSS, CCSDS or other applicable space standards. * Exposure to ground segment infrastructure, TT&C systems or mission control environments. * Experience supporting launch and early orbit operations, commissioning or real-time console activities. * Familiarity with Earth observation or telecommunications mission concepts. * Understanding of the constraints associated with VLEO missions, such as atmospheric drag, lifetime management and highly iterative operational planning. * Experience with automation, data pipelines or internal tooling for operations teams.
