staff/guest experience and budget is achieved. The Bar Manager will promote and grow the bar standards, hire and train bar staff,
and ensure that members and guests receive top quality drinks and service. The Bar Manager will also manage inventory, plan
promotional events, ensure that quality and safety controls are followed, maintain current licenses and update vendor contracts,
create schedules, and set business objectives to increase profits and maximize member / guest satisfaction.
Responsible for maintaining and delivering consistent results and opportunities to increase sales, manage costs in accordance with
budget, and better the member experience. This role is held by a manager that is observant and can think critically and
efficiently. They are a skilled communicator with excellent problem solving, observational, and interpersonal skills; this role

The role… At Soho House, the Bar Captain responsible for representing the highest standard of service and respected example for their peers to look to for support. As the Bar Captain, you are an extension of the management team and supervise staff during the shift and ensure cocktails, coffees, juices, & wine are sent out to the floor and served at the bar in accordance to standards set for service and quality control. A Bar Captain requires high levels of organization, problem-solving and communication skills. You may also be responsible for supervising multiple aspects of supplying, running, and operating the bar. Ultimately, your main responsibility is to ensure that the bar staff provides positive experiences! Main Duties * Act as extension of management team and maintain the following programs: house-made syrups, fresh juices, batching, barrel aged cocktails, bespoke coffee, hot beverages and any specialty cocktails * Ensure cleanliness of the bar including underneath bar top, the sink basins, speed rails, storage areas, floors and drains below the wells, back bar bottles, glassware shelves, all metal surfaces on low boys and espresso machine * Maintain a safe and clean workstation as well as update Side Work Sheets to be up to date while communicating any inventory and purchase orders required to efficiently and effectively operate the bar * Represent Soho House ethos & standards and the philosophy of House Tonic program while influencing sales to generate revenue * Complete, delegate and support management by carrying out any opening and closing bar duties and ensure the bar is set-up to Health Department and Soho House standards * Assist and participate in the development of seasonal menu implementations for the beverage program, including new product tasting with suppliers * Support and participate in product and skill educational opportunities and the development of the beverage training program for all staff * Well-versed and knowledgeable about all menu items (food and drink), pairing opportunities and upselling to provide optimal guest / member experience * Follow service standards, mixture of ingredients to craft a Soho cocktail and collection of payment through MIROS (or similar POS) * Check identification of customers to make sure they meet age requirements for purchase of alcohol and tobacco products as well as determine when a customer has had too much alcohol * Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager Required Skills/Qualifications * 5+ years of bar experience and proven leader with exceptional skills to influence others behind the bar * Strong communication and people skills while also cognizant of the bottom line and generating revenue * Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced and demanding environment that doesn’t sacrifice quality with quantity * Flexible schedule * Tips certified. * Micros knowledge a plus. The role… At Soho House a Runner is responsible for a range of tasks including preparing tables, serving orders, explaining meals, and facilitating collaboration between kitchen and servers. A Runner also assists the servers in providing quality hand plated service to all guests who come to Soho House. As a Food Runner, your goal will be to provide our members and guests with outstanding customer service and actively help to improve their overall dining experience. A successful Runner thrives in a fast-paced environment, can problem solve in high-pressure situations and remain calm, approachable and professional. Main Duties * Responsible for following Steps of Service set by Soho House & Co that includes but is not limited to; Refill water glasses and coffee cups, clear finished dishes, crumb the table, replenish all table supplies, expedite food orders * Accommodate special requests from guests or alternative solution that better suites business needs or advise management to further assess and provide options * Thrive in high-volume and elevated service environment. Scope of the Job At Soho House, the Area Head of Bars and Beverage must have proven professional restaurant experience as well as the ability to maintain Soho House standards of quality and exceed member expectations. They are responsible for the alcoholic and non alcoholic beverage program and management of all bar operations for their region. A successful Area Head of Bars and Beverage is accountable for driving growth and innovation to generate sales and increase brand awareness through strategy, menu development, community outreach, marketing initiatives, industry analysis and keeping current on all modern trends. While also establishing a rapport with members, guests, vendors, management and corporate employees to assist with special projects, promoting new ideas, and overall, being an ambassador for Soho House’s bar / beverage program. Key Responsibilities * Maintaining presence on the floor during peak business levels and enforce effective and efficient operating standards while also being flexible to change and fostering positive implementation and ability to move from one task to another without loss of composure. * Provide constructive feedback, coaching and training to managerial and non-managerial staff on member/guest relations and take a primary role regarding the assessment and delivery on all trainings. * Responsible implementation of service standards, purchasing, labor, review and member/guest experience across all beverage operations. * Demonstrates the fundamentals of showmanship and be knowledgeable in beer, wine, all spirits, non alcoholic program, coffee, and tea. * Lead effective and efficient team of beverage staff that serve consistent menu options while paying close attention to cost and time management. * Metric driven to track and analyze revenue and P&L of wine and spirit revenue trends. * Regularly collaborate with the marketing/communications department to develop strategies marketing initiatives to promote the beverage program. * Create signature craft cocktails using creative ingredients, fresh herbs and other embellishments by partnering with local vendors and national partners. * Lead, review and verify weekly and monthly liquor and wine inventory and purchase all liquor, wine, and bar supplies. Ensure that inventory management is accurate and it is consistent at all locations. * Effectively manage and promote the curation of rememberable experiences through quality member / guest experiences and the beverages made to order. * Spearhead all beverage related projects to generate sales revenue growth, controlling costs, protecting and increasing profitability, service standards and quality levels for the beverage department. * Meet or exceed budgets for beverage costs. * Thoroughly train, educate and develop staff in beverage operations to ensure consistency of product and service to Soho Houst standards. * Partner with the Culinary team, VP of Operations/Regional General Manager, for seasonal changes and menu refresh. * Process all members, guests as well as staff disputes and claims in a timely manner and communicate quickly to ensure everyone understands next steps and how to proceed. * Ensure all systems are kept up to the date with accurate information and the Soho House standards are met from local and regional compliance as well as health and safety. * Will be assigned special projects from time to time by VP of Operations/Regional General Manager. * Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager. Experience Required * Minimum of 5+ years of equivalent work experience (3+ years Managing/Supervisory capacity) overseeing beverage sales, guest experience, menu implementation * Influencer and experienced leader in training and developing a fun, elevated and approachable environment * OpenTable, Salesforce, Micros (or similar POS) and Opera experience is preferred * Problem solving skills and bring conflict resolution to any anticipated or current matter * Detail oriented, articulate and ability to multi-task in a high-volume and demanding work environment * Strong communication skills and ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions * Current certificates: Servsafe, Food Safety Handler, and Training for Intervention Procedures (TIPS) * Strong financial and computer skills; has experience working with and understanding of P&L’s. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite * Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours, as needed and maintain poised and approachable during high-pressure circumstances * Extensive craft cocktail and spirit knowledge and passion necessary.
