YOUR FUTURE RESPONSIBILITIES You will be part of a specialized backend team building new services in Go, with a strong focus on cloud-connected identity systems and access control. The role includes both new development and architectural improvements in an evolving environment where priorities can shift quickly. In this position, you will for example: * Design and develop backend services in Go * Build systems for identity, authorization, roles, and permissions * Help define what data should be persisted in AWS-based cloud services * Improve systems that manage access across devices, networks, and admin platforms * Work closely with product leadership and senior engineers on new technical direction * Contribute to architecture decisions with a pragmatic, product-first mindset * Collaborate cross-functionally with cloud, mobile, web, and embedded-adjacent teams * Continuously prioritize, reduce risk, and make fast engineering decisions in a dynamic environment WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO REQUIRED * Has at least 3 years of professional experience in Go development * Has a backend engineering background in distributed or cloud-connected systems * Has experience building identity, authentication, authorization, or access management solutions * Has experience with AWS or similar cloud environments * Has professional experience in production environments with high availability requirements * Has strong communication skills in English, written and spoken MERITORIOUS * Has experience integrating with SSO, SCIM, Entra ID, Okta, Google Workspace, or similar identity providers * Has experience from product companies with hardware-connected software ecosystems * Has previous background as a consultant or experience across multiple technical environments * Has experience from fast-paced scaleups or founder-led product organizations * Has broader software engineering experience from languages beyond Go You are someone who thrives in environments with high ownership and moving parts. ABOUT THE ROLE Wrknest is recruiting a Backend Software Engineer on behalf of an international technology company based in Stockholm. The company develops advanced connected platforms used by businesses and consumers worldwide, with a strong focus on networking, cloud infrastructure, and smart device ecosystems. In this role, you will join a highly skilled engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining core backend systems powering connected products and services. The position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving technically complex challenges, improving system reliability, and working across backend, cloud, embedded, and application environments. Examples of responsibilities include: * Designing, building, and maintaining backend services using Node.js and TypeScript * Developing secure, scalable, and maintainable APIs and workflows * Contributing to architectural discussions and technical decisions * Reviewing code and supporting high engineering standards and release quality * Investigating production issues and implementing robust solutions * Collaborating with teams within embedded, web, mobile, product, and design * Improving reliability, observability, and developer experience across services WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO Requirements * At least 5 years of professional experience working with Node.js and TypeScript * Minimum 3 years of experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL * Experience developing software for connected devices, infrastructure products, networking systems, or similar complex environments * Good understanding of web security, including OWASP, OAuth, and browser security fundamentals * Strong debugging skills and experience with defensive programming * Professional experience with Git, Unix/Linux, and Docker-based environments * Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions * Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken * Valid Swedish work permit and residence in Sweden at the time of application Meritorious * Experience with Rust or Go * Experience with gRPC * Experience with WebRTC * Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and build pipelines * Experience using AI tools and LLMs to improve engineering workflows and productivity The client values engineers who are curious, solution-oriented, and motivated by building reliable products in technically advanced environments.
