About the role Wrknest is recruiting a Backend Software Engineer on behalf of an international technology company based in Stockholm. Examples of responsibilities include: Designing, building, and maintaining backend services using Node.js and TypeScript Developing secure, scalable, and maintainable APIs and workflows Contributing to architectural discussions and technical decisions Reviewing code and supporting high engineering standards and release quality Investigating production issues and implementing robust solutions Collaborating with teams within embedded, web, mobile, product, and design Improving reliability, observability, and developer experience across services We are looking for someone who Requirements At least 5 years of professional experience working with Node.js and TypeScript Minimum 3 years of experience working with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL Experience developing software for connected devices, infrastructure products, networking systems, or similar complex environments Good understanding of web security, including OWASP, OAuth, and browser security fundamentals Strong debugging skills and experience with defensive programming Professional experience with Git, Unix/Linux, and Docker-based environments Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions Strong communication skills in English, both written and spoken Valid Swedish work permit and residence in Sweden at the time of application Meritorious Experience with Rust or Go Experience with gRPC Experience with WebRTC Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and build pipelines Experience using AI tools and LLMs to improve engineering workflows and productivity The client values engineers who are curious, solution-oriented, and motivated by building reliable products in technically advanced environments. ABOUT THE ROLE Join our dynamic Gaming Team, comprising skilled BE Engineers and QA experts dedicated to developing and maintaining our cutting-edge Gaming Engine. As a Backend Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in utilising the latest technologies to craft cloud-based, distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant microservices capable of handling a staggering volume of gaming transactions—approximately 1.3 billion per month. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including the Regulatory Reporting Team and game operations teams, you'll spearhead innovative projects such as LeoJackpot while ensuring seamless API integrations and optimising performance for an unparalleled gaming experience.
