About the role
Ahlsell is looking for a Fullstack Developer to join our e-commerce team — a key role in the continued modernization of our e-commerce platform. You'll work close to both technology and business in a team that takes shared ownership of the platform powering Ahlsell's websites and mobile applications.
In this role, you'll help develop, maintain and evolve full-stack solutions that deliver an excellent experience for customers and internal users. You'll be part of Ahlsell Group's ongoing journey to modernize the tech stack — building cloud-ready, scalable solutions with a strong focus on quality, reliability and performance. We're building this step by step, and you'll help shape how we get there.
Where you'll work
This is a remote-first role. The team works distributed across Sweden, and you can be based anywhere in the country. If you'd prefer to spend some or all of your time at an office, you're welcome to work from any of Ahlsell's locations across Sweden — whichever suits you best. We collaborate primarily online and meet up in person when it adds value. Team gatherings are usually held at our HQ in Stockholm.
What you'll work on
Develop and maintain full-stack solutions across React, .NET/C# and databases, contributing to performance and scalability in distributed systems.
Contribute to architecture and modernization initiatives, including microservices, event-driven patterns, modern integrations and cloud-ready solutions.
Improve reliability, observability and testability through tools such as Grafana and OpenTelemetry, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.
Collaborate closely with developers, UX, product and business stakeholders to make decisions together.
What we're looking for
We're looking for a developer who enjoys taking responsibility and contributing to technical decisions in a collaborative environment. You're curious, proactive, and comfortable when not everything is predefined — and you value working things out together with your team. You're interested in the business context, not just the code, and you bring strong communication skills to the table.
Required experience
A few years of professional experience in backend development with C# / .NET
A few years of professional experience in frontend development with React
Comfortable working in environments where priorities evolve and where the team has real influence over how work gets done
Nice to have (any of these are a plus — you don't need all of them)
Experience in e-commerce
Interest in architecture and platform-oriented development
Experience with cloud and infrastructure (Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform)
Knowledge of CI/CD, monitoring and observability
Experience with CMS and search solutions (e.g. Optimizely/EPiServer, Voyado Elevate)
Experience using AI tools in development, such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code
