The Senior Cell Design Engineer will play a key role in the cell development of the Li-S battery. You will be in charge of setting up and executing the long-term Cell development project reporting to director of Li S cell development.
Key Responsibilities

Developing lithium-ion batteries for Energy Storage, Electric Vehicles, and other applications
Developing and Improvement basic cell system design for lithium-Sulfur battery
Evaluating the basic physical property and the fundamental performance of Electrode
Cell system design included support and managing the R&D Labs scale.
Process concept and investigate included support and managing the R&D Labs scale.
Leading cell development project in Li/S cell design team
Setting up the development strategy and DOEs
Technical lead for internal development with internal stakeholder.
Technical counter-part of customer and execution customer project.

PhD or MSc in chemical engineering/Electrochemistry/chemistry/material science and engineering
More than 3 years experiences on the automotive business
More than 8 years of practical experience from Li-ion and Li-S battery cell development
Extensive experience on cell design and development of Li-ion and Li-S cells
Extensive experience on large-scale battery fabrication and validation
Experience on Li-ion and Li-S battery manufacturing and mass production
Working experience with OEM project for Li-ion and Li-S battery cell/module business
Extensive experience on managing the technical team for customer project
Strong background from technical culture and proven engineering excellence

The Senior Cell Design Engineer will lead the design and development of current and next-generation lithium-ion battery cells, supporting both product innovation and customer programs. The role is responsible for defining cell design strategies, executing development projects, and driving technical solutions from concept to commercialization Key Responsibilities Overall areas of responsibilities and activities Lead the design and development of lithium-ion battery cells for ESS, EV, and other applications. Develop and optimize cell architecture, electrode design, and material selection to achieve performance, energy density, lifetime, and cost targets. Define development strategies and DOE to support cell development and validation activities. Evaluate cell performance, reliability, and manufacturability through testing, analysis, and data-driven development. Support scale-up activities and ensure design compatibility with manufacturing processes. Lead technical development projects and coordinate cross-functional activities across R&D, manufacturing, quality, and program teams. Serve as the primary technical interface for customers and support customer development programs from concept to qualification. JOB DESCRIPTION As a Senior Systems Engineer – Fluidics at Moleculent, you will be responsible for flow cells and fluidics design throughout the entire product development life cycle – from concept development and prototyping to design transfer and product care. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to develop robust and scalable solutions for advanced analytical instrumentation. You will combine hands-on laboratory work with system-level thinking and project leadership responsibilities. Key responsibilities include: Lead flow cell and fluidics design activities, including design, testing, troubleshooting, and verification Drive development of new flow cell concepts and consumable designs Support flow cell production engineering and production troubleshooting Ensure production equipment is maintained, supported, and qualified Participate in and drive instrument-level testing and verification activities Lead or contribute to throughput improvement initiatives Manage system-related project activities and integration work Contribute to early-stage conceptual development for future instrument generations Collaborate closely with R&D, Operations, Product Management, Biochemistry teams, suppliers, and contract manufacturers QUALIFICATIONS To fit the role, you most likely hold an MSc in Technical Biology, Molecular Biotechnology, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A PhD within a relevant discipline is considered a strong advantage. Fluent written and spoken English is required. You have several years of experience working with fluidics and flow cell development in analytical or life science instrumentation environments. You are comfortable moving between development, testing, production support, and cross-functional collaboration. The Senior Engineer of Material Development will lead the evaluation, analysis, and optimization of Li battery cells and related materials. This role involves providing technical leadership, guiding junior engineers, and ensuring the successful execution of evaluation activities that support both R&D and commercial cell development. The position requires a deep understanding of material behaviour, electrochemical performance, and cell integration to drive continuous improvement in product performance and reliability. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and assist in the prioritization and execution of project tasks.
