What is needed in this role:
To succeed as an Infrastructure Engineer within the Mainframe z/OS Platform and Storage area, you need a broad technical understanding of the z/OS environment combined with a structured and responsible way of working. The role is critical to ensure stability, availability, and performance of business critical systems.
- Solid experience working with the IBM z/OS platform in a production environment
- Strong understanding of mainframe infrastructure, including CPU, memory, and I/O
- Experience with mainframe storage solutions (for example DASD, disk, and volume management)
- Knowledge of SMS (Storage Management Subsystem) and its components
- Experience in capacity planning and performance analysis
- Understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions
- Familiarity with z/OS system tools for monitoring and administration
