We are looking for a System Safety Engineer with automotive background in ADAS and/or autonomous driving. This engineer will
define and manage the safety architecture and requirements for both autonomy software and hardware. This engineer will play a
critical role in shaping the technical direction of this project in the automotive industry space.

ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer with exposure to both system and software safety development, and hands-on experience applying ISO 26262 at the software level. You will be responsible for both system and software safety development across our Vehicle OS platform — working with safety requirements, analyses, and verification activities that span the full V-cycle. You will collaborate closely with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to ensure safety is correctly specified, implemented, and verified end-to-end. This is a generalist safety engineering role that values breadth across the safety lifecycle, practical experience delivering safety work products, and the ability to engage with software teams on safety requirements and implementation. AT APPLIED INTUITION, YOU WILL: * Perform system-level safety activities — technical safety concept development and safety requirement derivation — per ISO 26262 Parts 3 and 4 * Conduct system-level safety analyses including system FMEA, FTA, and dependent failure analysis to identify and mitigate risks across the system architecture * Support ASIL decomposition and safety requirement allocation across system, hardware, and software elements per ISO 26262 Part 9 * Understanding of low level firmware, safety concepts, derivation of FuSa analysis at platform level is key * Derive software safety requirements from Technical Safety Concepts and ensure correct flow-down to software architecture and implementation * Review software architecture and design for ASIL compliance — partitioning strategies, safety mechanisms, and freedom from interference between software components * Perform or support software safety analyses (SW-FTA, SW-FMEA) and dependent failure analysis for freedom from interference * Develop and maintain software safety plans and contribute to software safety case closure per ISO 26262 Part 6 * Guide software development teams on compliant practices including coding standards (MISRA, CERT) and structural coverage criteria * Maintain end-to-end safety traceability from safety goals through to verification evidence using tools such as JAMA, DOORS, or equivalent * Engage with external assessors and certification bodies; support third-party audits and confirmation measures WE'RE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS: * Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline * 3+ years of functional safety experience with a primary focus on software -level safety development and some exposure to systems-level safety per ISO 26262 Part 6 * Hands-on experience producing safety work products across the V-cycle * Experience collaborating across software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to implement safety requirements end-to-end * Previously worked on OS, Device drivers and Platform level Safety is value added. * Familiarity with requirements management and traceability tools (JAMA, DOORS, Polarion, or equivalent) NICE TO HAVE: * Familiarity with software safety analyses (SW-FTA, SW-FMEA) or software safety case development at the application or platform level — this is a strong differentiator for this role * Familiarity with software tool classification and qualification activities per ISO 26262 Part 8 * Experience across multiple vehicle domains — ADAS or propulsion or chassis, or body electronics — with an understanding of domain-specific safety challenges * Exposure to ASPICE (Automotive SPICE) software process assessments alongside ISO 26262 * Experience working with third-party assessors through product assessment or audit cycles Compensation at Applied Intuition for eligible roles includes base salary, equity, and benefits. This engineer will define and manage the perception subsystem requirements as well as evaluate its safety and performance for autonomous driving at scale. ABOUT THE ROLE Applied is looking for a multifaceted Product Security Engineer, Purple Team member, who can play a crucial role in ensuring the security and integrity of our products, particularly focusing on our Vehicle OS, Self Driving Systems, and Over-The-Air (OTA) and remote command center backend systems. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, primarily playing the role of offensive security engineer and recommending defensive techniques to enhance the security of our products. AT APPLIED INTUITION, YOU WILL: * Review, assess, and audit vehicle software platform code to identify security vulnerabilities using automated tests and tooling. * Lead security verification and validation (V&V) initiatives and serve as the point of contact for all security V&V activities. * Set up benches for penetration tests and risk assessments in an automotive environment. * Take a hands-on approach to security by implementing fixes for identified vulnerabilities where appropriate, while coordinating with core software teams to drive long-term remediation of high-impact issues. * Help in designing a secure vehicle software platform, connected vehicle architecture, and connected autonomous vehicles architecture. * Conduct hands-on security testing and perform risk assessments to prioritize security bugs and threats. * Compare mitigation strategies and prioritize mitigation efforts based on the risk. * Work with Applied's different business units to develop secure automotive products (Vehicle OS, SDS) in line with ISO 21434 process requirements and UN R155 technical specifications. * Work with software, security, and system & safety engineering to implement, identify, and advance security at Applied Intuition. * Work with Applied's customers to deliver secure automotive products. We're looking for someone who has: * 2+ years of industry experience in software engineering or product security engineering. * Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer, Software Engineering, or equivalent * A good understanding of embedded systems and how software interacts with hardware. * Strong experience in penetration testing or hands-on security assessment of embedded systems. * Good technical knowledge of Linux or QNX internals. * Security expertise in one or more of the following: C, C++, x86, ARM, cryptography, or exploit development. * Experience with network security(firewall configurations, ssh authentication). * Proficiency in programming with C/C++ or Python. * A solid understanding of hardware security primitives, including secure boot, key management, and cryptographic accelerators. * Experience with security tooling, including vulnerability databases and automated fuzzing frameworks (e.g., AFL, libFuzzer, or specialized automotive tools). * Proficiency in code auditing and vulnerability research using both manual and automated testing tools. * Experience performing formal risk assessments and the ability to prioritize mitigations based on risk levels. * The ability to act as a technical lead and coordinate security projects between internal teams and external customers.
