The BMC Helix Solution Developer is responsible for building, configuring, and extending solutions on the BMC Helix platform. You will work closely with solution architects and product owners to implement workflows, integrations, service catalogs, automation, and custom components using Helix Innovation Suite, ITSM, DWP, and BWF.
This role requires hands‑on development expertise and a strong understanding of Helix platform capabilities to deliver high‑quality, maintainable solutions that meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and configure solutions across BMC Helix ITSM, Digital Workplace, Business Workflows, and Innovation Suite.
Build workflows, rules, expressions, and data models using Innovation Studio.
Implement service catalogs, request experiences, and UI components in Digital Workplace.
Develop case management processes and automation using BWF.
Build and maintain API‑based integrations with enterprise systems.
Implement orchestration workflows using TrueSight Orchestrator or similar automation tools.
Support CMDB updates, service modeling, and data quality improvements.
Collaborate with architects to ensure solutions follow design standards and governance principles.
Troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and ensure platform stability.
Produce technical documentation for configurations, integrations, and customizations.
Required Qualifications
Hands‑on experience developing on BMC Helix ITSM / Remedy.
Strong knowledge of BMC Helix Digital Workplace (catalogs, service design, UI configuration).
Experience with BMC Helix Business Workflows (case types, tasks, rules, automation).
Proficiency with Helix Innovation Suite (workflows, data models, expressions, UI components).
Experience with API integrations (REST, webhooks, integration gateways).
Experience with orchestration tools such as TrueSight Orchestrator.
Understanding of CMDB structures, relationships, and service modeling.
Ability to analyze requirements and implement scalable, maintainable solutions.
Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
Fluent in English.
Preferred Experience
Experience working in enterprise or multinational environments.
Knowledge of ITIL processes and modern ITSM practices.
Experience supporting platform modernization or digital transformation initiatives.

About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior BMC Helix Solution Architect to lead the design and evolution of enterprise Service Management solutions built on the BMC Helix platform. In this role, you will work closely with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to design scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions that support both business and IT operations. You will play a key role in defining solution architecture, integrations, workflows, automation, and reporting while ensuring the platform remains aligned with enterprise architecture principles and long-term modernization goals. Key Responsibilities Design end-to-end BMC Helix solutions, including architecture, data flows, integrations, and operational processes. Define how BMC Helix ITSM, Digital Workplace (DWP), Business Workflows (BWF), Innovation Suite, and TrueSight Service Orchestrator (TSO) work together to support business and IT4IT use cases. Design operational and management dashboards using Helix Dashboards. Design and document integrations between BMC Helix and surrounding enterprise systems, including DevOps platforms and other business applications. Evaluate implementation approaches and recommend solutions that maximize standard platform capabilities while minimizing unnecessary customization. Ensure solution designs comply with enterprise architecture, security, and platform governance principles. Support development teams throughout implementation by providing architectural guidance and clarifying solution designs. Contribute to platform modernization, scalability, and long-term maintainability. Required Qualifications Proven experience designing enterprise solutions on ITSM or Service Operations platforms. Strong knowledge of BMC Helix Digital Workplace (DWP), including service catalogs and request experience design. Experience with BMC Helix Business Workflows (BWF) and case management process design. Hands-on experience with BMC Helix ITSM / Remedy. Experience with Helix Innovation Suite, including data models, workflows, expressions, and platform extensibility. Experience with TrueSight Service Orchestrator (TSO) or similar orchestration and automation frameworks. Strong understanding of API-based integrations and enterprise integration patterns. Experience designing solutions involving CMDB and service modeling. Experience with low-code platforms or workflow-based automation within ITSM environments. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to challenge requirements and propose simple, scalable, out-of-the-box solutions. Strong documentation and communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. *Please note that a cover letter must be submitted as part of your application* Overview of role Service Asset and Configuration Management (SACM) is a process within the Service Management function. The SACM Analyst will work with the IT Service Asset and Configuration Management Lead to ensure the implementation and maturing of a robust and consistently applied Service Asset and Configuration processes that underpin the IT support service to staff, students and associates of the College. The post holder will assist in identifying, maintaining, controlling and verifying assets of the university and managing how they connect hierarchically to form our systems. Improve our efficiency and service quality by aiding other Service Management processes through the provision of accurate and consistent asset and configuration data and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of an efficient and high-quality Service Asset and Configuration Management function delivering value to the customers of King’s College London. Accountabilities To support the IT Service Asset and Configuration Manager in delivering best practice, providing valuable input and assisting in the creation and adoption of lifecycle policy, process, procedure, templates and work instruction documentation. Asset Management: * Support Line Management in performing Asset Management tasks in line with SACM Plans. * To assist with internal and external audits when required to do so. * Assist in planning, monitoring, and recording software licence and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. * Assist in ensuring assets are procured, received, deployed, recovered, and disposed of in accordance with King’s policy. * Work with the Senior SACM Analysts to: * Manage the BMC Helix queues for Asset Management and EUS King’s Service Centre, ensuring that SLS targets are met. * Process new software requests assigned to the SACM team. * Manage the King’s Service Centre hardware inventory * To be familiar with current software estate at KCL, and to provide advice on the use of currently licensed and packaged applications. * Manage the allocation of subscription-based licenses where appropriate. * Manage software licensing renewals of centrally managed software. * Provide desktop support to King’s Service Centre staff and visitors. * To contribute to the IT knowledge base and documentation as required. * Adherence to University IT policies as applicable. * Contribute to proposed solutions to ensure they are fit for purpose and provide optimal value for money. * Assist with the deployment of applications across the King’s estate. Configuration Management: * Support Line Management in performing SACM tasks in line with the SACM Plan. * To assist in ensuring all services are clearly defined, mapped and managed within the Configuration Management System (CMS). * To ensure the defined SACM policies, processes, procedures, templates and work instructions are adhered to, raising any breaches to the IT Service Asset and Configuration Lead. Other: * Participating in strategic meetings and acting on the outcome. * To support continual service improvement (CSI) across SACM by identifying areas for improvement and assist in the update or creation of required documentation. * Build relationships with external and internal stakeholders. * Must have the willingness to develop new skills and take on new challenges. * Travel to other sites (London and surrounding areas) will be required from time to time. * Good interpersonal skills are essential for written, oral and face to face communications, both within Technology and the business. * Identify and communicate risks and opportunities.
