About the role
As a Data Engineer at Cerve, you will play an essential role in designing, implementing, and improving the data products at the
core of our platform.
In collaboration with Engineering and Product, you will help us build scalable, efficient, and effective data products. From the
processing pipelines to the retrieval and agent systems built on top of them.

This is the job For our client in the banking sector, we are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help build and evolve a modern cloud-based data platform powered by Databricks and Microsoft Azure. The client is undergoing a major transformation from a traditional on-premise SQL-based data warehouse to a scalable, cloud-native data ecosystem where Databricks serves as the core platform for data processing, analytics, and future AI initiatives. This role is ideal for engineers who have extensive hands-on experience working with Databricks in production environments and enjoy building robust, scalable data platforms from the ground up. This is a hybrid assignment based in Stockholm, with an expected onsite presence at the client’s premises 3–4 days per week and 1–2 days remote. This is you * 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering * 3-5+ years of hands-on Databricks experience in production environments * Strong experience building and operating data pipelines in production environments * Advanced knowledge of Python and SQL * Experience with distributed data processing and large-scale datasets * Solid understanding of data engineering principles, including orchestration, performance optimization, and data quality * Experience with dbt and modern data modeling practices * Ability to independently drive technical initiatives and contribute to architectural decisions * Professional proficiency in English Nice-to-have skills: * Experience with real-time data processing * Experience migrating legacy data warehouse environments to cloud platforms * Understanding of CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and platform governance within data ecosystems * Understanding of Swedish This is your role * Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines on the Databricks platform * Build and optimize scalable data integration and transformation solutions * Work directly with Databricks notebooks, jobs, clusters, and workflows in production * Develop reliable and performant solutions for processing large volumes of data * Implement modern data modeling approaches using dbt * Ensure high standards for data quality, traceability, scalability, and performance * Contribute to the architecture and evolution of the organization's Azure-based data platform * Establish and improve engineering best practices related to Databricks, CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and platform operations * Collaborate closely with analysts, BI teams, and other stakeholders to deliver business-critical data solutions * Support the migration from legacy data warehouse solutions to a modern Databricks-centric architecture What awaits you at Avenga?
