OVERVIEW Instacart’s Enterprise Platform team is responsible for the white-label product that enables retailers of all sizes to compete online through their own ecommerce experiences. The team is focused on platform growth and long-term retailer success — from onboarding new partners to helping them acquire, serve, and retain their end customers in ways that align with their unique brand and strategy. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to own two important efforts:  1. creative tools that give retailers control over their e-commerce theme and brand experience, accelerated with AI 2. acting as the product lead for large enterprise retailers – shaping proposals, aligning complex retailer requirements, and guiding planning cycles that unlock mutual growth This role is one of the most dynamic and high leverage roles we have. It requires someone who can move fluidly between a long-horizon platform vision that they directly execute against and the near-term deal dynamics of enterprise sales, influencing multiple R&D to deliver cohesive, enterprise-ready solutions that retailers can confidently sign onto and scale with.  The ideal candidate has exceptional operational rigor, strong cross-functional influence to deliver complex initiatives, deep trust-building abilities with senior executives, and the attention to detail necessary to apply structured, high-throughput thinking across a wide product surface. This PM will also be a core partner to multiple design and product teams, reimagining a creative toolkit that enables retailers to brand, design, and refine their storefronts. This will require an excellent understanding of the complexities of editing platforms and design systems that balance retailer control and conversion. ABOUT THE JOB Site Theming & Brand Platform * Own the long term vision, strategy, and roadmap for site theming and content management  — the tools that let retailers control how their ecommerce experience looks and feels across pages. * Build a centralized platform where retailers configure and manage the visual representation of their sites, including navigation, typography, design system components  * Own the Digital Asset Manager (DAM): asset hosting, uploading, management, brand rules enforcement, and an API that enables retailers and internal teams to manage creative assets at scale. * Define the right balance between retailer flexibility and platform coherence — enabling meaningful brand differentiation while preserving conversion. * Partner closely with Design and platform engineering teams to build tools that serve both internal product teams and retailers. * Shape the long-term vision for how AI can augment page editing and merchandising workflows, turning future capability into a near-term product strategy. Enterprise GTM & Retailer Partnership * Enable and influence multiple product teams to build towards multi year horizons * Regularly represent Instacart externally to the world's largest retailers as an innovation partner. * Identify what it takes to win in the enterprise segment in order to acquire and grow the world’s largest retailers. * Act as a vocal champion for enterprise customers, helping platform teams translate their needs into scalable product solutions. * Partner closely with Sales and Marketing to shape collateral and narratives that drive enterprise go-to-market success. * Identify launch requirements and lead alignment across PM, engineering, and GTM teams on what we will support, when, and how within our broader enterprise platform strategy. * Drive cross-functional alignment on complex retailer requirements to win deals and support retailer-driven innovation roadmaps. ABOUT YOU MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * 8+ years of B2B product management or similar experience, 3+ in ecommerce / retail technology  * 2+ years of direct involvement with sales or consulting and customer discovery with senior executives * Strong experience operating at the intersection of product and go-to-market, working closely with enterprise sales, marketing, and customer success. * Proven ability to build trust with executives, internally and externally. * Strong leadership skills — able to guide large, multidisciplinary teams toward shared outcomes across Product, Engineering, Data, Design, and GTM. * Demonstrated ability to handle complex product problems across a wide product surface with high ambiguity. * Strong product vision and communication skills — able to envision how grocery and e-commerce will evolve over the next three years, translate near-term asks into scalable platform offerings, and layer in emerging technologies to go beyond incremental improvements. * Proven customer and product strategy ability: a) Build trust with external customers b) Identify needs and craft complex platform solutions c) Rally internal teams to make high-stakes tradeoffs under ambiguity and tight deadlines * Fluent in both product intuition and data: able to assess value propositions for both retailers and their end customers, balancing qualitative insights and quantitative impact. OVERVIEW Instacart’s Platform team powers the foundational capabilities behind our marketplace and Storefront Pro, including order management, pricing and discounting, loyalty, payments, fraud, and customer experience. We’re hiring a Senior Product Manager to build and own Instacart’s Risk Platform: the shared infrastructure behind fraud detection, appeasements, and identity verification across our four-sided marketplace of customers, shoppers, retailers, and advertisers. You’ll set the north star for what this platform becomes, define the roadmap and sequencing to get there, and own the outcomes to build the platform. WHAT MAKES THIS TEAM UNIQUE Instacart’s Fraud, Appeasements & Identity team sits at the intersection of platform infrastructure and real-world commerce, protecting millions of transactions across a four-sided marketplace.  In this role, you will own the end-to-end product vision and roadmap for how Instacart prevents fraud, verifies identity, and resolves order disputes fairly. A core challenge is navigating the tension between cost efficiency and delivering a fast, fair customer experience - shaping fraud and appeasement policies with cross-functional partners that protect the business without degrading the customer experience that drives growth. You'll drive measurable impact on cost per order, fraud losses, and customer experience by evolving our real-time decision platform, advancing ML-driven fraud models, and shaping the next generation of AI-native fraud defense. On the fraud and identity side, you'll own a real-time ML-powered decision platform and build the next generation of AI-native fraud defense. The industry is undergoing a generational shift from rules-based to AI-first fraud prevention, and you'll define Instacart's strategy for it. On the appeasements side, you'll tackle one of the most interesting product challenges in commerce: how do you make customers whole quickly and fairly when something goes wrong, while maintaining thoughtful safeguards against abuse? Every customer-facing commitment we make builds the trust that drives loyalty and growth, and also requires careful product and policy design to manage cost responsibly. You'll design the systems and policies that solve this tension at scale, working across Order Quality, CX, Legal, and Finance. Ultimately, you’ll set the roadmap to define and build a new piece of platform infrastructure at Instacart to power risk decisioning across all our product surface areas. ABOUT THE JOB   * Own the fraud, identity, and appeasements product vision, strategy, and multi-year roadmap. Set a clear north star with quantified targets for fraud losses, cost per order, false positive rates, and customer experience - and regularly socialize that vision with leadership and cross-functional partners. * Drive the evolution of Instacart's real-time fraud detection and identity platform - including ML model strategy, decisioning, identity verification (selfie, passkeys, ATO prevention), and account integrity across both marketplace and Storefront Pro. Optimize the balance between fraud prevention and customer experience. * Champion an AI-native, AI-first approach to fraud and trust. Drive opportunities to apply AI/ML innovations across the full domain. Push beyond incremental rule tuning toward a fundamentally AI-first architecture. * Lead the appeasements and order-issue resolution strategy - defining policies, guardrails, and product capabilities that balance fair customer treatment with abuse prevention. Partner with Order Quality, CX, and Legal to shape policies where customer-facing commitments require thoughtful safeguards. Drive measurable improvements to efficiency. * Be the strategic leader, not just the executor. Proactively identify new opportunities, define the "where we go next" narrative, and produce clear product reviews that demonstrate depth, ambition, and clear trade-off analysis. Don't wait for partner teams to tell you what to build - own the direction. * Partner closely with Data Science, ML Engineering, and Fraud Operations to define PRDs, scope ML model improvements, and translate complex fraud signals into scalable product capabilities. Leverage operational insights while maintaining independence of judgment on strategic direction. * Collaborate across Platform, Payments, Order Management, Shopper, Legal, and CX teams to ensure fraud and trust capabilities are embedded across Instacart's full commerce stack - from checkout to post-order to international expansion. Stay ahead of the evolving fraud landscape, including organized fraud-as-a-service, AI-generated abuse, and emerging attack vectors. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * 6+ years of product management experience, including 3+ years focused on fraud, trust & safety, risk, identity, or a related high-stakes platform domain. * Demonstrated ability to set product vision and strategy independently - not just execute on a defined roadmap, but define the north star, build conviction with leadership, and drive a multi-year narrative with measurable goals. * Proven track record driving measurable business outcomes in fraud prevention or risk management - such as reducing fraud losses, improving authorization/approval rates, lowering false positive rates, or optimizing cost per order. * Strong experience working with ML/data science teams on fraud detection models, risk scoring, or decisioning platforms. Comfort with data and experimentation (SQL, analytics tools, A/B testing) to size opportunities, validate hypotheses, and measure impact rigorously. * Demonstrated success working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, data science, finance, legal, and compliance - with strong written and verbal communication skills to produce compelling strategy documents and build confidence in direction. * Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field; equivalent practical experience considered. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS   * Experience applying AI/ML innovations to fraud, identity, or trust & safety - such as shipping GenAI/LLM-powered products, building AI-native detection/decisioning systems, or leveraging graph neural networks and multimodal analysis. Our work spans omnichannel integrations — bringing products like FoodStorm catering and Caper Carts onto unified Instacart platform rails — enterprise extensibility (sandbox environments, configuration systems, retailer-facing tooling), and the cross-cutting data isolation work that allows Instacart's ML and Data Engineering teams to safely build per-retailer models on top of the platform. As Instacart's enterprise retail business expands to hundreds of partner brands and new international markets, this team's work is foundational to how the platform matures. We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead this team of ~12 engineers. You'll set the unifying technical thesis for the team — multi-tenancy, data isolation, configuration-driven release management, and per-retailer extensibility — and drive the consolidation work that replaces bespoke per-vertical services with shared platform rails. In close partnership with Connected Stores, Pro Services, Commerce, Data Engineering, and ML, you'll broker the architectural and prioritization trade-offs that determine how Instacart serves enterprise retailers across multiple commerce surfaces. ABOUT THE JOB * Lead, coach, and grow a senior-skewed team of ~12 engineers across multiple workstreams; set clear architectural and execution direction, develop talent, and foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. * Set and maintain the unifying technical thesis for the team — multi-tenancy, data isolation, configuration-driven release management, and per-retailer extensibility — ensuring related workstreams converge on shared solutions rather than parallel implementations. * Drive consolidation of bespoke retailer-vertical services — catering order management, smart-cart backend logic, kiosk integrations, in-store mobile — onto unified Instacart platform rails, so each surface inherits Instacart's ranking, search, recommendations, and fulfillment. * Partner with ML and Data Engineering on long-term enterprise data platform compliance for our ML systems, ensuring per-retailer model training has the data, signals, and isolation it needs. * Deliver self-service tooling — including sandbox environments, configuration interfaces, and retailer-facing extensibility — that lets retailers and internal teams ship without engineering bottlenecks. * Represent technical and product trade-offs across multiple engineering and product organizations whose roadmaps and integration commitments evolve in real time; broker resourcing decisions, drive clarity in ambiguous scope, and ensure engineering investment stays aligned with committed work.
