About the Senior Python Engineer role As a Senior Engineer at Nearform your main task will be designing & building applications using Python. However as you’ll likely work on a variety of projects your responsibilities may also include: * Supporting component design, development and maintenance and taking responsibility for personal technical quality standards within the project team. * Assisting with defining structured practices, especially in source code management, building and deployment. * Designing and implementing data storage solutions. * Optimising performance in applications for maximum speed and scalability. * Getting feedback from users and clients, and building solutions for them.  * Assisting with the analysis of client requirements. * Working with and supporting Technical Leaders in project execution and timely delivery. * Collaborating with client teams. What we are looking for in this person: * Significant experience delivering at a Senior Engineer level. Our Seniors typically have at least 8 years of commercial experience. * Deep knowledge and experience with the Python language and modern AI frameworks. * Experience with AI-native development practices and tools. * Understanding of AI and agentic workflows, with a drive to stay at the forefront of emerging LLM technologies. * Practical experience of delivering in an agile environment. * Practical experience and knowledge of developing real-world solutions. * Deep understanding of versioning control tools - e.g. Git. * Testing experience and familiarity with testing tools at all levels, unit, integration and end-to-end testing. * Practical and real-world experience working with databases and cloud environments. * Experience with automation, CI and CD. * Experience building software collaboratively using pull requests and code reviews * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Professional proficiency in English. The Difference You Will Make:  We are seeking an experienced (Contract) Sr. Data Scientist for a 24 month contract with deep expertise in marketing measurement, with a particular focus on Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM) and geo-based causal inference. The ideal candidate brings strong statistical intuition and hands-on modeling experience to quantify the incremental impact of Airbnb's marketing investments across channels and geographies. They are fluent in Python, comfortable working with Bayesian frameworks, and can translate complex measurement findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.  A Typical Day: * Marketing Mix Modeling: Design, build, and maintain MMM models that estimate incremental channel contributions, including prior elicitation, adstock/saturation modeling, validation, and sensitivity analysis. * Geo-Based Measurement: Develop and analyze geo-experiments (synthetic control, difference-in-differences) to measure marketing incrementality and validate MMM outputs. * Measurement Infrastructure: Build and maintain data pipelines and automated measurement systems ensuring reproducibility and scale. * AI-Accelerated Prototyping: Use AI agent workflows to rapidly develop v0 prototypes and spec-driven model implementations — compressing weeks of iteration into days. * Productionalization: Refine research prototypes into production-grade systems with proper unit testing, data validation, and code review standards. * Insight Communication: Translate complex measurement findings into clear narratives and confident budget recommendations for Marketing and Finance stakeholders.
