ABOUT LENDABLE Lendable is on a mission to build the world's best technology to help people get credit and save money. We're building one of the world’s leading fintech companies and are off to a strong start: * One of the UK’s newest unicorns with a team of just over 700 people * Among the fastest-growing tech companies in the UK * Profitable since 2017 * Backed by top investors including Balderton Capital and Goldman Sachs * Loved by customers with the best reviews in the market (4.9 across 10,000s of reviews on Trustpilot) So far, we’ve rebuilt the Big Three consumer finance products from scratch: loans, credit cards and car finance. We get money into our customers’ hands in minutes instead of days. We’re growing fast, and there’s a lot more to do: we’re going after the two biggest Western markets (UK and US) where trillions worth of financial products are held by big banks with dated systems and painful processes. JOIN US IF YOU WANT TO 1. Take ownership across a broad remit. You are trusted to make decisions that drive a material impact on the direction and success of Lendable from day 1 2. Work in small teams of exceptional people, who are relentlessly resourceful to solve problems and find smarter solutions than the status quo 3. Build the best technology in-house, using new data sources, machine learning and AI to make machines do the heavy lifting As a Financial Crime Intern you would be expected to bridge the gap between our frontline Financial Crime Operational teams and our second line Financial Crime risk team. You will be the specialist responsible for reviewing, refining, and where possible standardising suspicious activity reports before they move to senior review. YOUR DAY-TO-DAY IMPACT: * You’ll review Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) escalated from across the business including Frontline Operations , Fraud, and FinCrime teams. You will ensure every report is robust, evidence-led, and tells the full story of the circumstances. * You’ll go beyond the initial alert, ensuring that research is conducted on a proportionate basis to ensure that what has really happened is adequately documented. * You’ll assess high-risk relationships and provide clear, logical and sound rationales on whether we should continue a business relationship, balancing commercial success with risk mitigation. * You’ll constantly look for solutions to improve our ways of working, both with our people, AI systems and internal processes to make our reporting of SAR’s to the National Crime Agency (NCA) faster and smarter. PERSON SPECIFICATION We hire for potential, mindset, and grit. This role is designed for someone who wants to start a career in Financial Services, not just fill a seat. * A sharp and quick thinking individual: Ideally someone who is in the process of studying for a degree in a relatable discipline (Financial Crime, Business, Criminology, Law, Psychology, Social Sciences, etc.) and wants a role where you can actually use your brain. * Someone who is intellectually curious, who questions the status quo and continues to challenge until the root of a problem is uncovered. * An individual with high energy - who thrives on a fast paced environment, is comfortable with ambiguity and can pivot quickly to changing processes and priorities. * Continuous improvement is your aim, you are always seeking fresh ideas and looking how to work smarter. ABOUT THE ROLE This is a 12-week internship program starting from 30th June Salary - £30,000 (per annum) We're looking for a sharp, intellectually curious final-year student who loves solving problems and finds smarter ways to do things to come and make a real impact in one of the UK's fastest-growing fintech companies. As an Operations & Process Improvement Intern, you’ll play an active role within our Financial Crime team, supporting the day-to-day running and continuous improvement of our operations. Alongside handling real casework, you’ll identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve processes, and introduce automation where possible. This is a hands-on role with real ownership - you won’t just observe how operations work, you’ll help shape and improve them. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING * Getting into the weeds of financial crime casework - learning how processes work end-to-end and presenting your own findings to senior leadership * Identifying manual, repetitive, or inefficient processes and finding ways to automate or improve them * Working with AI tools and internal systems to make case work faster and smarter * Collaborating with operational and risk teams to drive meaningful change WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR * A final-year university student, ideally from a top university * You don't need prior experience in financial services or financial crime - we hire for potential, mindset, and grit * A degree in STEM or relevant discipline is a plus (Financial Crime, Business, Criminology, Law, Psychology, Social Sciences, etc.) but not essential * Someone intellectually curious who questions the status quo and is a first-principles thinker * High energy - you thrive in a fast-paced environment, are comfortable with ambiguity, and can pivot quickly when priorities shift * A process improver - always looking for smarter ways to do things INTERVIEW PROCESS * 15 minute cognitive test * 30 minute video call with our Talent Talent * 45 minute case study * 30 minute final interview LIFE AT LENDABLE * Winning team: the opportunity to scale up one of the world’s most successful fintech companies * Flexible working: flexible approach tailored to each role. WHO WE ARE - OUR MISSION terralayr addresses the massive deficit in global energy storage. The over-indexing of electricity generation from renewable energy sources leads to large volatility on the energy grid. The main problem is that wind and solar farms are fluctuating and, by definition, unsteady—there is no sun at night, and it is not always windy. This increases the need for flexibility in the form of battery storage systems to balance the grid in times when supply and demand do not match. By buying and developing grid-scale storage assets and virtually aggregating them across a layer, we are creating the world's first energy cloud. Imagine AWS for energy. Through the flexibility we secure, we can market flexibility-as-a-service and hedging products/power insurance to utilities, SMEs, and industrial players and create virtual storage capacity for PV and wind farms. WHAT WE ARE HIRING FOR - YOUR ROLE We are looking for a Strategy & Commercial Intern (m/f/d) to join our team for a period of ideally 6 months. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business development, market analysis, and supporting commercial initiatives within a dynamic and fast-paced environment. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON - YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES * Support the Chief Commercial Officer, contributing to strategic initiatives and ensuring seamless execution of commercial activities. * Facilitate and manage the customer acquisition process, including contract preparation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement. * Create commercial materials such as sales decks, market analyses, and proposals, and actively participate in partner calls. * Support contract execution by preparing proposals, presentations, and organizing data rooms, ensuring accurate and timely delivery. * Contribute to product ideation and evaluation, assisting in product development processes and analyzing commercial implications. * Provide administrative support to the team as needed. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR - YOUR QUALIFICATIONS * Education: You are currently pursuing or already have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, or any comparable subject from a top tier university or business school and are looking for an internship, ideally 6 months. * Experience: You have first work experience in demanding, fast-paced environments (e.g., consulting, investment banking, startups, etc.). * You are a team player, have a hands-on mentality and organisational skills. * Mindset: You are proactive and have a self-starter mindset with excellent organisational, interpersonal and analytical skills. * You thrive in ambiguity and don’t crack under the pressure of a demanding environment. * Any previous experience in energy markets or in the development and operation of renewable energy assets are a plus. WHY YOU SHOULD BE EXCITED ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY * Working for a company with a clear mission: A world powered by 100% renewable energy. * Get first-hand experience by working closely with experienced entrepreneurs and senior team members who support your development through mentoring. * A steep learning curve combined with a lot of space to bring in your own ideas and shape terralayr’s future. * A strong team culture and lively interactions with the team.
