Your responsibilities
Create concept design for our control and protection systems.
Develop new business driven solutions within the domain of FACTS technology.
Make architectural decisions on the existing and future product base.
Coordinating with control platform supplier to ensure the compatibility of software and hardware and tools.
Take new ideas from start to finish line, including offline studies, all the way to testing versus simulator or lab setups.
Work in our agile teams to provide our delivery organization with new feature and applications.
Your background
You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar
As minimum 7 years relevant competence and experience within Control or electrical design.
It is highly advantageous if you have worked with the MACH-platform previously.
Experience in configuration management is advantageous
You are a driven problem solver who eagerly takes initiative and always delivers on time and according to expectations. Naturally, contributing to our continued development motivates you.
We are looking for someone with a seniority level, who has a big interest in continuing to grow and has the drive to develop new own solutions.

Lyten Sweden is seeking a professional and experienced Principal Engineer withing Manufacturing Engineering function. The Principal Engineer is a senior technical leader responsible for defining, scaling, and optimizing manufacturing processes across one or multiple process areas. This role provides strategic direction, technical authority, and mentorship while driving the process development of next-generation battery technology. The Principal Engineer leads complex, high-impact initiatives from concept through industrialization, including process design, equipment strategy, and factory integration. Acting as a key interface between R&D, operations, quality, and external partners, the role ensures robust, scalable, and cost-efficient manufacturing solutions that support production ramp-up and long-term operational excellence. In addition to hands-on technical contribution, the Principal Engineer establishes engineering standards, drives cross-site alignment, and shapes the technology roadmap for manufacturing processes. Key Responsibilities Technical Leadership & Strategy Define and own process technology strategy and roadmap for assigned manufacturing areas. Serve as the subject matter expert (SME) and technical authority across multiple process domains. Establish engineering standards, best practices, and design guidelines across the organization. Drive alignment between R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure scalable process development. Process & Equipment Development Lead the development of advanced process and equipment specifications for new and existing manufacturing systems. Identify, evaluate, and select strategic equipment suppliers and technology partners. Oversee and lead design reviews with equipment suppliers, ensuring technical rigor and scalability. Provide guidance and oversight for process development from pilot through high-volume production. Program & Project Leadership Lead large-scale, complex equipment and process development projects with significant business impact. Guide cross-functional project teams through all phases: concept, design, FAT, SAT, commissioning, validation, and ramp-up. Equipment Lifecycle Management Provide leadership and governance for installation, commissioning, and validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) of manufacturing equipment. Ensure lifecycle strategies are in place for equipment reliability, maintainability, and performance optimization. Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement Identify and lead high-impact continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies. Drive improvements in yield, throughput, cost, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). Establish and track process capability metrics and KPIs across production lines and sites. Troubleshooting & Advanced Problem Solving Lead complex root cause analysis (RCA) efforts, including 8D and A3 methodologies, for critical process or equipment failures. The Senior Cell Design Engineer will play a project leading role in the cell development of the Li-ion and LIS battery, specifically, in the Mechanical Design area. Key Responsibilities Overall areas of responsibilities and activities • Lead mechanical design and development Li-ion and LIS battery and related components for Energy Storage Systems (ESS), Electric Vehicles (EV), and other advanced applications • Take ownership of mechanical part design, evaluation, validation, and optimization using advanced CAD tools (NX, CATIA, or equivalent) • Act as the primary technical interface with customers, leading technical discussions and clarifying design requirements • Proactively collaborate with cross-functional teams (Supply Chain, Process Engineering, R&D Labs, Manufacturing, Quality, etc.) to ensure seamless project execution • Identify technical risks related to cell/battery development and production and drive mitigation strategies • Review and approve mechanical drawings, 3D models, tolerance stack-ups, and technical documentation • Support prototype development, design verification, and validation activities • Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards, processes, and engineering best practices Requirements Educational background and previous experience required for the role Qualifications and Experience • BSc, MSc, or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent practical experience) • 8+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in power electronics, high-performance lithium-ion batteries, or related industries • Strong experience in lithium-ion battery cell development and secondary battery technologies is highly preferred • Proven hands-on experience in mechanical component design, evaluation, and validation • Extensive experience with advanced CAD tools such as NX, CATIA, or equivalent 3D modeling software • Experience with electrode and cell design, electrode preparation processes, cell fabrication, and electrochemical performance evaluation is strongly preferred • Strong understanding of risk management in cell/battery development and production environments • Demonstrated experience leading technical discussions directly with customers • Excellent English written and verbal communication skills Specific skills • Advanced proficiency in CAD tools (NX, CATIA, or similar) for mechanical part design and evaluation • Strong technical documentation and drawing review capability • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight project deadlines • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously • Proactive cross-functional collaboration skills • Ability to work effectively both independently and in team environments • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data integrity and reproducibility. Effective communication and collaboration skills within a multidisciplinary R&D environment. Specific skills Hands-on experience with electrochemical testing (charge/discharge, EIS, CV). Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Origin, Python preferred). Familiarity with material characterization techniques (XRD, SEM, ICP). Understanding of laboratory QA/QC principles. Ability to follow established test protocols with precision and consistency.
