We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Project Manager to lead complex projects from initiation to successful completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of project planning, execution, monitoring, and closure, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, aligned with Hitachi's strategic objectives.
In Network Control you will have an important role as project manager delivering SCADA systems globally. Our portfolio is distributed over three regions where this role is part of the EMEIA PMO team serving Europe, Middle East, India and Africa as a market allocation.

How you’ll make an impact
Lead and manage the full lifecycle of multiple delivery projects, including scope, planning, resources, risks, and stakeholder communication.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, and budgets, tracking performance and adjusting as needed to ensure successful delivery.
Serve as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and expectation management.
Identify and mitigate project risks and issues, preparing contingency plans and escalating critical concerns when necessary.
Ensure high-quality project execution by managing resources efficiently and upholding project quality standards and compliance with company policies and methodologies (e.g., PMP, Agile, Waterfall).
Conduct project reviews and post‑implementation analyses, driving continuous improvement and contributing to the development of Hitachi’s project management frameworks.
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science or similar — or equivalent project‑management expertise gained through senior project roles.
8–10 years of progressive project management experience, including 3–5 years in a senior role, preferably in a global, technology‑focused or large multinational environment.
Proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget, demonstrating strong leadership, stakeholder management and problem‑solving skills.
Strong practical experience with project management methodologies and proficiency in project management tools.
Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, perform under pressure, and work effectively in diverse global teams.
Experience with risk management, quality assurance and change management, strong analytical skills, and industry experience within Energy is highly desirable; PMP certification is a plus.

The opportunity The role provides direct support to Sales and Tendering team by contributing to accurate, competitive sizing of operational efforts for tenders, as well as developing execution strategies and delivery schedules in alignment with Network Control global practices and delivery models. With extensive hands-on experience in executing SCADA/EMS/ADMS international projects within complex environments, the Tender Support Specialist serves as an integral part of the bid team. This role contributes to the development of competitive and feasible proposals, directly impacting the profitability of the organization. This position reports directly to the Tender Support leader inside the Project Office group and collaborates closely with Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain and Tendering teams. How you’ll make an impact Recommend solid execution strategies and define the right mix of in‑house, outsourced, local, and remote delivery models. Anticipate challenges in multi‑country and emerging‑market execution while ensuring coherent, cost‑effective, low‑risk delivery approaches. Estimate project management and engineering efforts using structured methods and early risk identification in the tender phase. Balance cost, risk, and margin protection with realistic and achievable execution conditions. Clearly define project scope, obligations, and responsibilities across Hitachi Energy, customers, suppliers, and partners. Validate timelines, software release assumptions, and resource availability; produce realistic project schedules and workload plans. Lead Execution Reviews, support Tender Gate Reviews, and ensure compliance with global governance practices. Drive process improvements by standardizing templates and promoting digital and AI tools for estimation, bidding, and contract workflows. Your background Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field 10-15 years in SCADA/ADMS/EMS/DMS/GMS project delivery and strong understanding of architectures and implementation lifecycles Mastery of project management frameworks (PMI, IPMA) and estimation methodologies Proven track record in emerging markets (Latin America, Africa, Middle East, Southeast Asia) Project estimation methodologies and scheduling techniques Ability to structure emerging market delivery strategies (Permanent Establishment setup, partnering models, local content) Soft skills as commercial mindset (balance technical excellence with margin protection), intellectual courage (challenge unrealistic assumptions) and excellent communication across technical and commercial stakeholders are a great advantage to be successful in this position. To lead the delivery of a major substation construction project supporting a large-scale data centre development in Sweden. As the Senior Project Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the project, overseeing both the Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) and electrical scopes while acting as the primary interface with the client. Approximately 75% of the project is CSA-focused, making a strong background in CSA delivery highly desirable. You will provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring the works are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of the substation construction project from inception through to completion. Oversee the Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) and electrical work packages, ensuring effective coordination across all disciplines. Act as the primary client interface, building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. Manage contractors, consultants and project teams to achieve programme milestones and project objectives. Proactively identify, manage and mitigate project risks and issues. Ensure compliance with all health and safety, quality and commercial requirements. Provide regular progress reporting and maintain clear communication with the client and wider project team. Experience Required Proven experience leading the delivery of substation or utility infrastructure projects. A strong Civil, Structural & Architectural (CSA) background, with experience managing associated electrical packages. Demonstrable experience delivering complex, large-scale construction projects from inception through to completion. Excellent client-facing, leadership and stakeholder management skills. Fluent English communication skills. Previous experience working on similar projects or within hyperscale data centre environments would be highly advantageous. Key Deliverables Throughout the assignment, you will be responsible for: Successfully delivering the substation construction project in line with programme, budget and quality expectations. Managing both the CSA and electrical scopes to ensure seamless project execution. Maintaining a proactive approach to project planning, risk management and issue resolution. Developing and maintaining strong client relationships while providing clear leadership to the project team. Qualifications: Degree in Engineering/Project Management, Associated with Institute of Engineers Experience: 10+ years in senior project management (industry specific)
