Every parcel we deliver starts with an engineering decision At Instabee, we don't just move parcels — we solve some of the most complex physical-world problems in European logistics, at scale. From the algorithms that optimize a driver's route to the systems that predict terminal throughput hours in advance, our engineering decisions have a direct impact on millions of deliveries every day. We're now looking for a Staff Engineer to join our technical leadership group — someone who doesn't just write great code, but shapes how entire teams think, build, and deliver. About the Role This isn't a traditional engineering role. As a Staff Engineer in Group Operations, you sit at the intersection of technical strategy and real-world logistics. You work alongside Product and Engineering Management to ensure multiple teams are building the right things, in the right way, at the right scale. Think of yourself as the technical glue — the person who bridges business ambition and engineering execution, who spots the hard problems before they become expensive ones, and who raises the bar for the entire engineering organization around you. What You'll Do Drive Technical Strategy & Architecture Set the technical direction across multiple teams in Operations. You'll guide engineers toward right-sized solutions — balancing high-scale stability with the speed needed to move the needle on operational KPIs. Tackle Genuinely Hard Problems Forecasting incoming parcel volumes, optimizing terminal throughput, routing thousands of drivers in real time — these are the kinds of challenges that define our business and your days. Champion Developer Experience Identify and eliminate technical friction. You'll lead initiatives to improve testing environments and deployment speed, keeping our engineering organization sharp and efficient. Bridge Business & Tech Translate complex business requirements into evolvable technical designs. You'll help teams understand how their code directly impacts the P&L of our logistics network — and why that matters. Mentor & Build Culture Act as a role model for the engineering community. You'll mentor senior engineers, promote a culture of learning from failure, and foster cross-team collaboration to ensure we don't reinvent the wheel. Enable Data-Driven Decisions Work closely with Data and Product teams to ensure our systems produce high-quality insights that power company-wide decisions. What We're Looking For You don't need to be an expert in everything your teams do — but you should care deeply about helping them succeed. We think you'll thrive in this role if you are: A Technical Leader — You have broad experience building distributed systems and can navigate deep technical dives and high-level architectural trade-offs with equal confidence. Strategic & Pragmatic — You know that "perfect is the enemy of good." You favor an iterative mindset, delivering value early and often rather than waiting for the ideal solution. Operationally Curious — You're fascinated by the intersection of software and physical operations. Experience in logistics, routing, or hardware integration is a significant plus. A Communicator & Collaborator — You can translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and thrive in a cross-functional environment where engineering, product, and business work closely together toward shared goals. A Quality Advocate — You hold a high bar for stability and security — but you know how to achieve it without killing the pace of innovation. Why join Instabee? You won’t just be another employee here; you’ll be a builder. We offer the chance to sharpen your skills alongside some of the brightest minds in the industry. If you’re someone who sees an inefficient process and thinks, "I can make that better," you’re going to love it here. The Perks: 🌇 The Best View in Town Our Stockholm HQ offers a stunning 360-degree panorama. 🐶 Dog-Friendly Culture No need to leave your best friend at home; our furry friends have their own floor! 🏓 Unwind & Recharge Whether it's a competitive game of Foosball or a Karaoke solo, we take our fun seriously. 👶 Family First We support our new parents with six months of parental pay. 🎂 Birthday Gift Enjoy a fully paid day off to celebrate another trip around the sun. ⏰ Work-Life Harmony Hybrid working and flexible hours come as standard. The Journey So Far Instabee was born when two pioneers, Budbee and Instabox, joined forces. Today, we are on a mission to become the leading European e-commerce enabler. We are a high-speed business, expanding across borders and constantly evolving. As our journey grows in scale and complexity, we need people like you to help us navigate the road ahead.
