WHAT YOU NEED: * You break things, and you want to break them anywhere, in any cloud - and you have solid 5+ years of experience doing that. * You find and exploit bugs in: * Java, typescript, JavaScript, Go, Python or C++ * Kubernetes, AWS, Azure or GCP * Cloud Native Systems and Applications, AI Agents and Agentic workloads, Client Side Applications, Micro Services, Database Systems, Drivers, Connectors, Web Applications, and more * You will have a solid understanding of technologies supporting applications and systems to accurately assess the breadth and impact of risks and solutions. * You are not overly reliant on tools and can use your fundamental understanding of technologies to develop new attack methods. * You are a strong communicator, with a track record of delivering results, who wants to work closely with developers and security engineers on a daily basis. * You have prior experience balancing security and business demands as you perform penetration testing for products going to release. WHAT YOU WILL DO: * Perform penetration testing engagements against a diverse cloud environment and find vulnerabilities in software, systems, and networks. * Set scope, priority based test plans, and timelines for penetration testing engagements. * You will figure out how to test new applications, technologies, protocols, controls, and concepts where there is no out-of-the-box methodology. * Work with security and engineering teams to manage product releases, plan engagements, communicate findings and recommendations, and inform stakeholders. * Partner closely with security engineers in the Product Security program to drive reviews, designs, and controls from outcomes. * Focus primarily on penetration testing, but advocate for and support other processes in the SDLC as needed. * Develop automated security testing tools and security automation frameworks to enhance scalability and eliminate recurring vulnerabilities. We’re hiring a talented Senior Software Engineer to help us build a world-class security experience for Snowflake engineers. As an engineer in the Product Security team, you will play a central role in delivering the next generation of tools used by our engineers to develop and secure our flagship product. Together with industry-wide experts in distributed systems, cross-cloud development and security excellence, you will evolve our security infrastructure and tooling to be elastic, large-scale, and highly performant with simplicity at its core. As a software engineer in the Product Security Team, you will help Snowflake realize its mission and vision of becoming the premier Data Cloud by accelerating the delivery of our high-quality software to production. You will be a key stakeholder in driving clarity on our strategy and partner with product managers to chart the quarterly and long-term roadmaps for the team. You will ensure that the team is executing towards serving the current needs of its customers, while ensuring that we stay ahead of technological trends and future demands, including AI security and security for AI-driven systems. OUR IDEAL SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER WILL HAVE: * Strong passion for making developers highly productive. * 6+ years of industry experience developing tools and backend services, preferably in the security space * A track record of flawless technical execution. * Excellent problem-solving skills, and strong CS fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems. * Fluency in at least one of the following languages: Rust, Python, Golang, Java, C++ or .NET * Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate well. * A strategic mindset and a strong sense of ownership. * Excellent interpersonal communication skills. * Outstanding written and verbal English language skills. BONUS POINTS FOR EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING: * Experience building guardrails, scanning, or policy controls for AI-assisted software development. * Designing and implementing security services and tools. * Experience with public clouds (AWS, GCP, Azure) and Kubernetes. * Experience working on enterprise-grade build systems like Bazel. * Multi-tenant systems with a focus on reliability, performance, isolation and security. * Hands-on experience with microservices architecture. * Experience with code scanning or cloud scanning.
