Kvalifikationer Vi tror att du har examen såsom civ. ingenjör, maskinteknik eller motsvarande. We're looking for a passionate and driven Senior Manufacturing Scientist – Aseptic Processing to join our Manufacturing Science & Technology (MS&T) team in Uppsala and play a critical role in ensuring the robustness, compliance, and continuous improvement of our aseptic manufacturing processes. About the Role You serve as the site's subject matter expert for aseptic manufacturing and contamination control, providing scientific and technical leadership across critical aseptic operations. You work cross-functionally to support routine operations, troubleshoot complex process challenges, lead investigations, and drive continuous improvement. A key part of the role is leading the site's media fill program and contamination control strategy, and ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory expectations, including EU GMP Annex 1 and global health authority requirements. Key Responsibilities Provide scientific oversight and technical expertise across aseptic manufacturing operations, including compounding, filtration, and filling processes. Lead the site's media fill / Aseptic Process Simulation (APS) program: design, execution, evaluation, reporting, and timely CAPA implementation to strengthen sterility assurance. Lead and support the Contamination Control Strategy (CCS) through scientific risk assessments spanning facility design, HVAC, environmental monitoring, cleaning and disinfection, and aseptic practices. Lead complex deviation investigations, root cause analyses, and CAPA activities related to aseptic processes. Design and evaluate smoke studies to verify airflow performance and first-air protection. Act as a trusted SME in audits, inspections, technology transfers, process improvements, and the implementation of new manufacturing technologies. The role is based at Galderma's production site in Uppsala and requires on-site presence up to four days per week. Your Profile You're a curious, proactive, and scientifically minded professional who enjoys solving complex challenges and driving improvement in highly regulated manufacturing environments. You take ownership naturally, influence stakeholders with confidence, and navigate complexity while keeping compliance and continuous improvement front of mind. Qualifications Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related discipline, with several years of experience in a biopharmaceutical or other highly regulated manufacturing environment. Strong expertise in aseptic processing, contamination control, media fills, and sterility assurance principles within GMP-regulated operations. Experience with EU GMP, Annex 1 requirements, and regulatory expectations for sterile manufacturing. Proven track record leading deviation investigations, root cause analyses, and CAPA implementation. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and technical writing skills. Strong stakeholder management and collaboration across multiple functions. Ability to independently manage complex projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Role purpose You will work together with our project team as an owner for Mechanical design -taking a data-centre project from early concept through detailed design, procurement, construction support and handover, while staying aligned to EcoDC’s reference architectures and governance. You’ll lead technical due diligence (TDD) for mechanical scope, drive vendor selection, and make pragmatic trade-offs across performance, resilience, maintainability and cost. What you’ll own · End-to-end mechanical fitout workstream plan, deliverables and decision log · Mechanical interfaces across electrical power, controls/BMS, fire/life safety, water, structural and civil · TDD responses for mechanical scope with traceable assumptions and evidence · Equipment and vendor strategy: specifications, bid evaluations, clarifications, FAT/SAT input · Design issue resolution during construction (RFIs, changes, non-conformance, risk mitigation) Key responsibilities · Lead the mechanical design from early phase through construction, ensuring outputs are buildable, operable and maintainable · Produce and defend mechanical design decisions (topology, redundancy, water strategy, modularity, control philosophy) · Translate customer requirements into robust fitout solutions, including options analysis and cost/benefit trade-offs · Write technical specifications and RFQs for major mechanical packages; run structured bid evaluation and clarification processes · Act as technical representative with suppliers: clarification logs, performance criteria, testing/acceptance inputs · Maintain strong control of scope: identify design risks early, prevent technical scope creep, drive closure to decisions · Operate effectively in Nordic delivery environments: clear cadence, transparent communication, fast decisions with good rationale Typical mechanical scope (indicative) · Cooling plant and distribution (air and/or liquid cooling infrastructure) · Heat rejection and water-side systems, pumping, pipework, valves, filtration/water treatment · In-room/white space mechanical fitout and airflow strategy · Controls integration (BMS/controls philosophy), alarms, commissioning readiness inputs · Maintainability, access, service strategy and operational handover requirements Key interfaces · CTO / technical governance (alignment to principles, waivers where needed) · Electrical technical lead (power availability, resilience, interfaces, sequencing) · Controls/BMS stakeholders (control intent, integration approach, commissioning strategy) · Project/construction leadership (schedule, risks, changes, installation constraints) · Procurement and key vendors (technical packs, evaluation, testing/acceptance criteria) What good looks like in the first 90 days · Mechanical workstream plan established with dependencies, interfaces and decision gates · TDD responses delivered with strong traceability, timely closures and minimal rework · RFQ/spec packs issued for priority packages; bid evaluation framework running cleanly · Clear interface agreements with electrical/controls/fire/water/structure, with no “surprises” late in design · Practical construction support cadence in place (RFI triage, change control, issue resolution) Experience and capabilities · Proven ownership of mechanical design on mission-critical projects (data centres strongly preferred) · Deep mechanical discipline expertise and confidence leading technical reviews and design decisions · Strong procurement and vendor management experience (specs, bid evaluations, technical clarifications) · Evidence-led communication: assumptions, calculations, options and rationale that stand up in review · Calm, structured problem-solving under schedule pressure; comfortable in high-stakes trade-offs · Strong collaboration style across multi-discipline teams and site delivery stakeholders
