We push the boundaries of what’s possible to solve problems and break traditional trade-offs. Join Coupang now to create an epic experience in this always-on, high-tech, and hyper-connected world. Role Overview We are seeking a Sr Staff System Engineer, GPU Fleet for our Coupang Intelligent Cloud (CIC) team, to serve as the senior technical owner for our hyperscale GPU compute infrastructure. In this role, you will define fleet architecture, drive reliability and automation at scale, and lead the operation and evolution of GPU systems supporting large‑scale AI training and inference workloads. This is a hands‑on, staff‑level individual contributor role with broad technical ownership, high operational impact, and significant cross‑functional influence across hardware, infrastructure, and datacenter operations. CIC builds the infrastructure for abundant intelligence. We partner with leading AI labs, governments, and enterprises to deliver hyperscale GPU compute with high reliability, performance, and efficiency. Our infrastructure supports some of the most demanding AI training and inference workloads in production today. We operate with urgency, deep ownership, and a strong bias toward execution. Reliability, operational excellence, and rigorous systems engineering are core to our business. What You Will Do As a Sr Staff System Engineer, GPU Fleet, you will be the senior technical owner for CIC’s large‑scale GPU compute infrastructure. This is a hands‑on senior individual contributor role with fleet‑level responsibility and broad cross‑functional influence. You will define the technical direction for how GPU fleets are architected, operated, automated, and evolved across multiple generations of hardware. Your work will directly affect fleet reliability, operating efficiency, scalability, and customer success. This role does not involve people management, but it carries principal‑level scope, autonomy, and decision‑making authority across infrastructure, hardware, and operations. Key Responsibilities: Fleet Architecture & Technical Ownership * Own the end‑to‑end technical architecture of hyperscale GPU fleets, including hardware platform selection, firmware strategy, OS configuration, drivers, networking, and observability. * Define and enforce technical standards and best practices for fleet reliability, availability, performance, and operability. * Lead major fleet‑wide initiatives such as new GPU platform bring‑ups, multi‑generation hardware transitions, and architectural redesigns. * Evaluate trade‑offs across cost, performance, reliability, and time‑to‑deploy, and make technically sound decisions under ambiguity. Reliability, Availability & Performance * Set and drive fleet‑level reliability, availability, and performance objectives. * Lead root‑cause analysis and resolution of complex, systemic failures affecting large portions of the fleet or multiple datacenters. * Identify recurring failure patterns and drive long‑term fixes spanning hardware, software, automation, and operational processes. * Work directly with hardware vendors and partners to resolve platform‑level issues and influence future hardware designs. Automation & Systems Engineering * Design and build large‑scale automation systems for: * GPU fleet provisioning and lifecycle management * GPU health validation, diagnostics, and certification * Automated remediation, recovery, and replacement workflows * Eliminate manual operational toil through durable, well‑designed tooling that scales with fleet growth. * Ensure all fleet systems are observable, testable, and resilient under failure conditions. Operational Leadership * Act as a senior escalation point for critical production incidents impacting GPU availability or customer workloads. * Participate in on‑call rotations with a strong emphasis on preventing future incidents, not just responding to them. * Lead high‑severity post‑incident reviews and ensure learnings are translated into concrete engineering and process improvements. Technical Influence & Mentorship * Provide technical mentorship and guidance to system and infrastructure engineers across the organization. * Serve as a trusted technical partner to platform engineering, networking, datacenter operations, and leadership teams. * Influence CIC’s long‑term infrastructure roadmap through strong technical judgment and data‑driven recommendations. Basic Qualifications * 12+ Years of overall experience with at least 8+ years of experience in Linux systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, or datacenter operations, operating production environments with strict uptime and performance requirements. * Deep, hands‑on expertise in Linux system internals, including process scheduling, memory management, filesystem behavior, networking, kernel behavior, and system performance analysis. * Demonstrated experience operating hardware‑intensive infrastructure in production, including bare‑metal servers at scale. * Proven ability to debug complex issues across multiple system layers, including hardware components, firmware/BIOS, kernel drivers, OS configuration, and user‑space services. * Extensive experience writing production‑grade automation using Python and Bash for provisioning, configuration management, diagnostics, remediation, and fleet operations. * Strong understanding of how to design systems that are observable, resilient, and safe under failure, rather than reliant on manual intervention. Preferred Qualifications * Direct experience operating large‑scale GPU fleets supporting AI/ML training and/or inference workloads in production. * Familiarity with modern GPU platforms and ecosystems, including GPU drivers, CUDA, NCCL, and high‑performance compute workloads. * Experience with high‑speed interconnects and datacenter networking, such as NVLink, InfiniBand, RDMA, and high‑throughput Ethernet. * Prior ownership of fleet‑wide or platform‑wide initiatives, such as new hardware bring‑ups, major architectural changes, or reliability transformations. * Experience partnering directly with hardware vendors or manufacturers to troubleshoot systemic issues or influence future platform designs. * Strong intuition for failure modes at scale, including cascading failures, correlated faults, and second‑order effects across systems. * History of acting as a technical authority or escalation point for ambiguous, high‑impact production problems. * Ability to mentor engineers through design reviews, technical problem solving, and modelling strong operational ownership. * Experience participating in on‑call rotations and responding to high‑severity production incidents with clear ownership, urgency, and technical leadership. * Strong written and verbal communication skills, including clear post‑incident reviews and technical documentation. Type of work model Hybrid Details to consider * Those eligible for employment protection (recipients of veteran’s benefits, the disabled, etc.) may receive preferential treatment for employment in accordance with applicable laws. Discord has a highly engaged community of millions of daily active users who use the platform for many different reasons, but there’s one thing that nearly everyone does: play video games. Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming, and we are focused on making it easier and more fun for people to hang out before, during, and after playing games. Discord exists to give people the power to create space to find belonging — to talk regularly with the people they care about and build genuine relationships with friends and communities close to home or around the world. We're looking for a Manager to lead our Scaled Abuse Countermeasures and Research (SCAR) team — Discord's first line of defense against scaled abuse. SCAR combines rapid incident response with deep threat research and signal generation across bulk fake account creation, login abuse, spam, scams, fraud, and other high-volume threats. This is an opportunity to reshape how the team operates: set a sharper strategy, stand up a structured research program, and lean heavily into ML and AI-powered automation to replace today's manual workflows. This role reports to the Director of Safety Automation. What You'll Be Doing * Lead and grow the SCAR team, a group of Scaled Abuse Scientists who serve as Discord's first line of defense against bulk fake account creation, login abuse, spam, scams, fraud, and other high-volume threats. * Set a vision for the team that leans heavily into automation — scale SCAR's impact by partnering with Safety ML on ML-driven detection and building AI-powered incident response workflows that increase the team's leverage and reduce manual work. * Define scaled abuse north-star metrics and build a roadmap and prioritization framework that keeps the team focused on the highest-impact problems. * Stand up a research program where the team operates as scientists: surface the most important questions about attacker operations and signals, then systematically answer them through structured research and experimentation. * Close the loop with Safety ML so that SCAR's signals feed directly into model features and pipeline upgrades, and tactical wins translate into long-term, automated countermeasures. * Partner cross-functionally with Product, Safety ML, Data Science, Policy, Legal, Trust & Safety, and Revenue, influencing safety-by-design decisions upstream so abuse is prevented, not just mitigated. * Coach, hire, and grow Scaled Abuse Scientists. * Communicate attacker dynamics, economic incentives, and trade-offs clearly to senior leadership. What you should have * 2+ years of people management experience leading technical teams, including engineers, ML engineers, data scientists, or applied researchers, or an equivalent track record of leading, mentoring, or coordinating technical work in a way that has prepared you to step into this role. * 4+ years of experience working on Trust & Safety, fraud, anti-abuse, or a closely adjacent adversarial domain at a consumer-scale platform. * Demonstrated ability to drive ML and automation adoption within a Trust & Safety or operations context. You don't need to build models yourself, but you need to understand them well enough to evaluate their quality, direct their development, and push a team toward automated solutions. * Strong analytical skills and fluency in SQL and Python for data investigation and pattern analysis (not full software engineering proficiency required). * Ability to think from first principles and apply behavioral-economics reasoning to adversarial systems: why are attackers doing this, what are the incentives, and what is the most cost-effective way to break their economics. * Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a history of partnering effectively across engineering, ML, data science, policy, legal, and product teams. * A growth mindset: you seek feedback, reflect on decisions, and actively help your team do the same. Bonus Points * Experience leveraging LLMs or AI agents for incident response, investigation automation, or signal triage. * Experience tackling scaled abuse problems at large social platforms, marketplaces, or other high-volume consumer products. * Threat intelligence research background, including understanding of internet infrastructure and the tools and techniques attackers use. * A strong passion for Discord and/or gaming, and an appreciation for the communities we serve. * A relevant degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience. Candidates must reside in or be willing to relocate to the San Francisco Bay Area (Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano, and Sonoma counties). Relocation assistance may be available. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $220,000 to $275,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role and level. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include benefits. Why Discord? Discord plays a uniquely important role in the future of gaming. We're a multiplatform, multigenerational and multiplayer platform that helps people deepen their friendships around games and shared interests, and helps developers build and grow their businesses. We believe games give us a way to have fun with our favorite people, whether listening to music together or grinding in competitive matches for diamond rank. Join us in our mission! About Us At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world’s largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World’s Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company. At Cloudflare, we’re not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we’re looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a "normalized" problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you’re the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you’ll fit right in. AVAILABLE LOCATIONS * New York, US * San Francisco, US ABOUT THE ROLE AI Access is one of two central pillars of Cloudflare's Act 4 (the other is Agentic Commerce). As bot traffic rises and human traffic declines, publishers and service providers lose the ad and subscription revenue that funds the open web. Without a new model, the economic incentive to create original content may decline or even disappear. We help Cloudflare's customers embrace the Agentic Web by making their content and services available to AI agents on their terms — open to any bot, gated behind payment, or anywhere in between. Help us build a better internet by ushering in a new business model for it. At Cloudflare, performance is about results and behaviors. We value curiosity, transparency, empathy, grit, and doing the principled thing. We're distributed by design — this role is based in London or Lisbon, with regular travel to partners and team offsites. Content creators should be compensated for the value they create — whether a human or an agent is consuming it. We're helping build the business model for the agentic web. What we ship directly shapes how the AI economy develops over the next two to three years. The trade-off: ambiguous, demanding, high expectations. If you want a legible PM role at a big company, this isn't it. If you want to own the product side of a thesis that matters, it is. RESPONSIBILITIES * Drive the strategy and roadmap across a suite of products that help content creators protect, value, and earn compensation for their work, and adjacent AI Access products * Deliver product specifications, prototypes, product positioning, and high-impact launches * Partner with Engineering, Design, Research, and GTM to ship at high velocity * Work with Partnerships and BD to define the new business model for the open web * Represent the product externally with publishers, AI labs, and developers DESIRABLE SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND EXPERIENCE * 5+ years as a PM in infrastructure, developer tools, or AI/ML. * Developer-facing experience required; data, crawling, or search is a strong plus * A strong communicator who is comfortable with ambiguity * Technically literate — you don't need to write Rust, but you should be able to push back on a tech lead on the merits of a particular direction * Alignment with Cloudflare's goals and values - learn more on our Careers page * *Nice to have* Founder or early-stage operator background. * *Nice to have* Content licensing, rights, or publishing industry experience. COMPENSATION Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. - For New York City-based and California (excluding Bay Area): Estimated annual salary of $141,000 - $180,000. - For Bay Area-based hires: Estimated annual salary of $147,000 - $189,000 EQUITY This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare’s equity plan. FEQ426R758 Databricks is seeking a Field Chief Technology Officer (Field CTO) for the Americas Industries Business Unit to be a senior, customer-facing technology and business transformation thought leader for our most strategic, often global, accounts in regulated industries. This individual contributor role sits at the intersection of data and AI strategy, industry transformation, and executive relationship-building, working closely with C-level leaders to drive multi-year change on the data platform while representing real-world needs back into Databricks. IMPACT YOU WILL HAVE: * Build and maintain trusted-advisor relationships with C-level executives (CIO, CDO, CTO, CISO, business COs) in large US-based and global accounts, especially in highly regulated industries (financial services, public sector, healthcare, manufacturing). * Proactively cultivate a strong social and professional network across customer executives, boards, key industry bodies, and partners, knowing which organizations and forums to engage to open doors with the right stakeholders. * Shape executive thinking on modern data and AI architectures, with emphasis on Lakehouse and data platform modernization as the primary lever for long-term Gen AI impact. * Lead C-level briefings, strategy sessions, and multi-day workshops that connect business outcomes, regulatory constraints, and operating model change to concrete Databricks-based roadmaps. * Serve as a deep technical counterpart in the field, maintaining L200–L300 proficiency across Databricks products and being able to credibly engage architects, data engineers, and data scientists on solution design and trade-offs. * Generalize patterns from the field into reusable reference architectures, industry blueprints, and best practices for regulated industries, and share them through blogs, webinars, whitepapers, and conference keynotes. * Orchestrate the broader ecosystem (cloud providers, GSIs, consultancies, ISVs) around customer objectives, ensuring Databricks is at the center of multi-year transformation programs rather than isolated projects. * Partner with Account Executives, Solutions Architects, Industry Leads, and Product Specialists to drive complex, multi-year sales cycles, securing platform decisions and expansions while influencing ACV and consumption growth. * Provide structured, prioritized feedback from strategic customers into Product, Engineering, and Field leadership to influence product roadmap, especially around data, governance, security, and regulated-industry requirements. * Mentor senior Field Engineering and industry-focused talent, contributing to a pipeline of principal- and CTO-level leaders and codifying ways of working for complex, regulated accounts. WHAT WE LOOK FOR: * 15+ years of experience spanning enterprise technology and consulting, including leading or advising on multi-year data platform and analytics transformations in large, complex organizations. * Significant time spent inside a large enterprise software or cloud company (e.g., Microsoft or similar) in roles that required navigating matrixed organizations and driving change at scale, combined with direct industry exposure rather than a career spent solely in horizontal software. * Experience in or with regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, public sector, regulated manufacturing, utilities), with familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations affecting data and AI platforms. * Background that blends: * Hands-on technology and architecture work on data platforms and analytics. * Organizational and operating model change (ways of working, skills, governance). * Executive consulting or advisory, ideally seeing transformations through from strategy to multi-year execution, not only strategy decks. * Proven ability to operate as a highly credible peer to C-level executives, driving business-outcome-focused conversations while also diving deep into technical details when needed. * Strong, proactive networker who is naturally curious about which associations, councils, and forums matter for a given customer set, and who uses those networks to create new executive entry points and opportunities. * Demonstrated longevity and impact in prior roles, with evidence of building and sustaining long-term customer relationships and programs rather than frequent short stints. Ads Content Understanding (ACU) owns and produces signals that describe what Reddit content is about, how brand safe and suitable it is, and what users are trying to accomplish in commercial conversations. ACU is responsible for: * The Knowledge Graph (entities, brands, products, and relationships across Reddit and external sources). * Content taxonomies such as IAB, Shopify Standard Product Taxonomy, IAS, and other commercial taxonomies used for targeting, safety, and marketplace dynamics. * Opinion mining for ads use cases: sentiment, stance, commercial intent, and other qualitative attributes of conversations. * Shopping / product understanding: detecting product entities, product categories, and product attributes in organic conversations and aligning them with shopping catalogs. * Signals and tags registry: a unified, governed catalog of ACU signals that powers retrieval, ranking, safety, and insights across Ads Foundations and partner teams. We are looking for a Senior Machine Learning Engineer (IC4) who will act as a key contributor to the Content Understanding roadmap for the Monetization org. This is not a research scientist or pure DS role; success is defined by robust, shipped systems and monetization impact. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals and solid ML intuition—not a pure research scientist. This is an Applied MLE role, requiring someone who can evaluate when to leverage hosted LLMs versus custom models, help scale content understanding to new modalities (e.g., video), and drive practical ML solutions that deliver business impact. Responsibilities: * Operate across the full ML lifecycle (problem framing, data, modeling, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and oncall), designing scalable ML pipelines and championing responsible AI (bias, safety, explainability) for ACU’s models and signals in production. * Provide technical leadership and mentorship to MLEs and SWEs doing ML work in ACU, design reviews, setting technical standards, and uplifting the team’s modeling and systems craft. * Develop evaluation systems and quality monitoring systems for content understanding signals, using SOTA LM-judge practices. * Drive operational excellence for ACU’s ML systems by defining SLOs, alerting, and dashboards for key signals (coverage, latency, precision/recall, cost) * Build and evolve content understanding capabilities for commercial conversations (e.g., reviews vs. recommendations vs. comparisons vs. Q&A; sentiment and stance; product entities and categories) and operationalize them as robust signals that power contextual and shopping ads, auto-targeting, new formats, and insights products. * Drive LLM and modern ML best practices within ACU: define when to prompt, finetune, or distill; design evaluation and safety harnesses; and lead at least one major distillation effort to replace external APIs with in-house models. Required Qualifications: * 5+ years of relevant MLE experience delivering production ML systems (models + pipelines + serving) at scale, ideally in large-scale content understanding domains, or Ads. * Demonstrated Senior-level technical leadership: has contributed to architecture decisions, standards, and design reviews in their immediate team * Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical trade-offs to PMs, DSs, and other engineering teams, especially in ambiguous, cross-team problem spaces like Seekers/Searchers monetization. * Some experience building and shipping NLP / Language models / content understanding models to production (e.g., classifiers, encoders, sequence or session models), with clear business outcomes (e.g., CTR/ROAS uplift, safety improvements). Experience with commercial or intent modeling is a strong plus. Preferred Qualifications: * Practical experience using LLMs in production for labeling, evaluation, or distillation (e.g., LM-as-judge, prompt-based classifiers, LLM-generated labels distilled into smaller models), including managing quality, cost, and latency trade-offs. * Significant experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar, and production-quality code in Python (and ideally one statically typed language like Go/Java/C++). Comfortable owning training, evaluation, and deployment code end-to-end. * Experience designing ML systems and pipelines: offline training, feature pipelines (batch/streaming), online serving, monitoring, and experimentation for high-traffic surfaces. Benefits: * Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits and Income Replacement Programs * 401k with Employer Match * Global Benefit programs that fit your lifestyle, from workspace to professional development to caregiving support * Family Planning Support * Gender-Affirming Care * Mental Health & Coaching Benefits * Flexible Vacation & Paid Volunteer Time Off * Generous Paid Parental Leave Pay Transparency: This job posting may span more than one career level. Some of that experience should include designing and shipping user-facing anti-abuse features. * Strong product sense and pride in understanding Discord and our users. * Strong analytical ability to quickly organize and leverage data to make informed product decisions with cross-functional stakeholders. * Previous work in spam, abuse, fraud, account integrity, Trust & Safety, or a strong passion to learn the space. * Sufficient technical domain expertise to drive alignment on technical requirements with Anti-Abuse, ML, and Security stakeholders. Bonus Points * Familiarity with ML-based detection systems and adversarial attacker dynamics. * BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant technical experience. * Strong sense of delightful UI and UX design.
