About the Survey & Design team: The Survey & Design team is part of the Acquisition Area of Aira, which is responsible for the entire sales journey, from lead generation to installed heat pump. Our team sits right in the middle of this, with a critical mission: Build tools that help Aira qualify, size, and design the right energy solution for every home — tools that get more accurate with every installation we do. When selling a heat pump system, you need to know what size of heat pump should be installed and whether any radiators need replacing. If we over-estimate this number, the customer will be paying more than they have to. If we under-estimate this number, we could install a heat pump that is unable to heat our customers' homes. Getting it right is crucial for both conversion and fast, efficient installations. About the role: Your main stakeholders are our Design Engineers, who work in customers' homes, but our tools impact almost every role in the Aira sales funnel, from Qualification, Sales, and Design all the way to Procurement, Planning, and Installation. The Opportunity HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) is a product group in Hitachi Energy, which develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. It is also used to connect power systems. The HVDC market for large scale transmission and offshore wind is booming as an enabler for the global energy transitions. Your role as Senior DSP Software Developer This is primarily a signal processing role. As a Senior DSP Developer for Dirac Live within Home & Pro, you will implement, refine, test, and evaluate the algorithms at the core of our products: estimation of acoustic systems from measurements, and design of correction filters for calibration and optimization of loudspeakers in real rooms. The team's focus is on productization and continuous improvement of these algorithms, turning them into robust, high-quality features in shipping products. You will work on the core processing behind our flagship Dirac Live technologies, including Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART), now shipping with several leading OEMs. Day to day, this means working with digital filters, FIR and IIR, phase behavior including minimum- and mixed-phase systems, frequency- and time-domain analysis of measured loudspeaker-room responses, and trade-offs between correction performance, robustness, latency, and computational cost. Most of the implementation is in modern C++ running locally inside the end-user app, with some parts running in the cloud. You should be comfortable discussing practical DSP trade-offs, such as when to choose an FIR filter over an IIR filter, how magnitude and phase response affect timing, ringing, group delay, and latency, and how to reason about systems in both time and frequency domain.
