Dina arbetsuppgifter Vi söker en engagerad lärare i svenska som andraspråk (SVA) till vår komvuxverksamhet i Kungsbacka. Du kommer främst att arbeta med elever som läser våra kombinationsutbildningar, där studier inom vård och omsorg eller barn och fritid kombineras med svenska som andraspråk på grundläggande och gymnasial nivå där undervisningen sker i klassrum. I rollen ansvarar du för planering, genomförande och uppföljning av undervisning samt bedömning och betygsättning. The Academic Excellence Visiting Professor Programme is a strategic component of Chalmers’ internationalisation strategy. The programme aims to strengthen academic excellence by attracting internationally recognised academic leaders who can contribute to the long-term development of Chalmers’ research, education and international collaborations. The Visiting Professor role As a Visiting Professor, you will contribute to the development of Chalmers’ academic environments through research leadership, international collaboration, mentorship, doctoral education and strategic academic engagement. Activities may include initiating new research collaborations, strengthening international networks, contributing to educational development, mentoring early-career researchers and supporting the long-term development of the host environment. The Academic Excellence Visiting Professor Programme at Chalmers will run during 2027-2028. The appointment is a part-time engagement, corresponding to up to 20% of a full-time position for a maximum of two years. Visiting professors are expected to maintain their affiliation with their home institution throughout the appointment. The level of engagement, duration and duties will be agreed jointly between the visiting professor, the host department and Chalmers. About us Chemical Physics develops sustainable energy systems by using heterogeneous (electro) catalysis for alternative fuel production, emission control, energy storage, and fuel cells. The research is interdisciplinary with strong connections between fundamental and applied science. Chemical Physics is a dynamic and international environment that strives for scientific excellence through teamwork and combined theoretical and experimental efforts. The theoretical activities at Chemical Physics focus on electronic structure calculations within the density functional theory together with mean-field modeling and Monte-Carlo simulations for reaction kinetics. By linking quantum mechanical calculations with kinetic modeling, it is possible to bridge both length and time scales. About the research project Proton-exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFC) convert the chemical energy in hydrogen to electrical energy. The main parts of a PEMFC are the anode, cathode and electrolyte. The reactions at the anode and cathode electrodes are catalyzed by metal nanoparticles on carbon. A current issue for large scale implementation of the PEMFC technology is long-term stability. The project will use atomistic first principles methods to understand the governing mechanism for fuel cell degradation. Increased understanding of the governing processes will provide information on how catalysts could be improved and how the system should be operated to minimize degradation. The project is a collaboration between Volvo Technology AB and Chemical Physics at Chalmers. Are you interested in advancing materials for safe and reliable nuclear power using cutting-edge characterization techniques? Join our team at Chalmers to explore corrosion mechanisms in zirconium alloys at the atomic scale and contribute to the development of next-generation nuclear materials. About us The research at the Division of Microstructure Physics focuses on experimental investigations of engineering materials using advanced characterization techniques. We mainly use electron microscopy, atom probe tomography (APT) and large scale facilities (synchrotron and neutron scattering). The research primarily deals with the relation between microstructure and properties, and how this relationship is influenced by processing and in-service degradation. Among the materials studied, steel, hard coatings, zirconium alloys and high entropy materials are central. The applications are often related to energy and sustainability. About the research project Nuclear fuel is enclosed in cladding tubes made from zirconium alloys. To improve reactor safety and economic performance, new alloys are continuously being developed. In this project, the corrosion behaviour of a novel zirconium alloy will be investigated to improve our understanding of the underlying corrosion mechanisms and support the development of next-generation materials. Advanced characterization techniques, including electron microscopy and atom probe tomography, will be used to study corrosion processes at the atomic scale. By combining direct measurements of albumin reabsorption with single-cell transcriptomics, the project seeks to identify molecular programs underlying epithelial dysfunction and to discover targetable pathways relevant to kidney disease. Duties The successful candidate will lead experimental work across multiple PTEC injury models, including toxic, metabolic, inflammatory, and hypoxia–reoxygenation stress. Key tasks include functional uptake assays using fluorescently labelled albumin, cell and tissue imaging, preparation of single-cell RNA sequencing libraries, data generation from primary human PTECs and acute kidney slices, and close collaboration with computational researchers for downstream analysis. Validation of candidate pathways in tissue slices will be an additional component of the work. About the role As a Staff Scientist, you will become part of a professional research environment where your specialist competence contributes to the quality and continuity of ongoing scientific work. In this role, you are expected to support research activities with your expertise and to work closely with colleagues and research leaders to help maintain and support the development of the research environment. You will be responsible for the digital developments in the Computational Sustainable Design Team, including developing workflows, managing the digital infrastructure and data. The role can be seen as a digital lab manager. You are not expected to build your own research group. About us The Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering tackles contemporary and emerging challenges for the built and natural environment, ranging from resource utilisation, pollution and climate change to digitalisation and inequality. We combine expertise in architecture, civil engineering and related disciplines to build a better world. The Division Sustainable Built Environments develops the methods, tools, and strategies necessary to transition the built environment toward sustainability. Our work spans from material science to urban planning, bridging the gap between fundamental sustainability science and applied research in collaboration with industry, planners, and citizens. Within the Sustainable Built Environments Research Area, the Computational Sustainable Design Team specialises in developing computational workflows and data-driven design approaches leveraging AI and visualisation techniques to support decision-making processes. Your responsibilities As a Staff Scientist, you will provide advanced scientific, technical, and methodological support to strengthen research activities. Key responsibilities include: Supporting the Computational Sustainable Design Team with expert knowledge in methods, techniques, and digital developments Support the development and implementation of scientific methods Develop, document and maintain the digital infrastructure Support other team members, e.g. PhD students in data management, coding, and data science Support grant writing Support in supervising PhD and Master thesis students Support teaching to a very limited extend Qualifications and merits To qualify for this position, you should have: A doctoral degree in a relevant field, auch as architectural engineering, urban science, construction informatics, computational design, data science Advanced Coding skills (demonstrable experience in git, python, object oriented programming and building data pipelines) Data management experience in research environments Creating and maintaining data management plans (dmp) Deep knowledge in parametric design, GIS, BIM and urban and building energy assessment, such as Geopandas, postGIS, EnergyPlus, etc. Proficiency in written and spoken English (Swedish language courses are offered.) Excellent academic writing skills The following qualifications are considered meritorious: Peer‑reviewed publications in leading journals Experience in writing research applications Experience in web development Front- and back-end development Teaching and supervision experience Employment This is a full-time permanent position.
