Alight was founded in 2013 and has been pioneering the Nordic solar industry ever since. We’ve repeatedly pushed the industry forward by delivering some of the region’s largest solar installations, introducing the first hybrid solar and battery storage (BESS) projects, and bringing innovative financing solutions to market. By combining commercial innovation with technical excellence, we’ve played an instrumental role in shaping the Nordic renewable energy landscape. Today, we’re the leading solar and BESS IPP in the Nordics, scaling rapidly with a clear mission to kick carbon off the grid. Innovation is part of how we work — from transforming the energy industry to finding smarter ways to run our business. AI is increasingly becoming a natural part of our day-to-day work, including within Finance, where we actively use tools such as Claude to improve processes, solve problems and work more efficiently. We’re looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join our Finance team — someone with strong accounting expertise who enjoys taking ownership and working across a broad range of accounting processes. Your impact This is a broad role at the heart of Alight’s finance organisation. You’ll work closely with our Group Chief Accountant, Senior Financial Controller and the wider finance team, taking ownership of key accounting processes across the group. You’ll also contribute to group accounting and take ownership of our finance ERP system. The role will evolve over time. Initially, you’ll work hands-on across different workflows and support the junior financial accountant. As you grow into the role, you’ll take on more responsibility for developing and enhancing processes across areas such as audit, annual reporting, monthly closing and internal accounting guidelines. You’ll also contribute to driving AI development within the Finance team as we continue exploring how AI can improve our processes and ways of working. Accounting & Financial Control You’ll be responsible for ongoing accounting and closing activities across a number of Alight’s group entities. Own ongoing accounting together with supporting functions, reconciliations and reporting. Be a key player in the monthly and annual closing processes. Ensure quality-assured accounting in accordance with applicable laws, regulations and group guidelines. Bridge local GAAP and group accounting. Take ownership of reporting for group entities across different currencies, including more detailed responsibility for entities with greater accounting complexity. Support the junior financial accountant and contribute to team workflows. Group Accounting & Reporting You’ll work broadly across the group and contribute to several group-related accounting activities. Contribute to group accounting, e.g. reconciliation of intercompany transactions. Assist with financial statements, annual reports, tax returns and financial reporting. Support transfer pricing processes, e.g. internal loans. Work with finance documentation and structuring. Together with the Senior Financial Controller, assist in the audit process across all companies. Process Development & Internal Controls As you grow into the role, you’ll take increasing responsibility for improving accounting processes and internal controls. Develop and enhance the monthly closing process. Set up and maintain internal accounting guidelines. Contribute to process development and internal controls across accounting processes. Finance Systems You’ll have ownership of our finance ERP system and related systems. Own NetSuite and related finance systems. Contribute to ERP development. Contribute to finance-related improvement initiatives connected to systems and processes. Contribute to the development and use of AI tools within Finance, including Claude, and help explore how AI can improve our systems, processes and daily ways of working. We’re looking for you You’ll have a high level of responsibility in this role and should be comfortable working both with the detail and the broader picture. You’ll work hands-on with accounting while also contributing to processes that impact the wider finance organisation. The role requires someone who can move comfortably between ongoing accounting, reporting, closing, group accounting and process development, while working independently and collaboratively across the team. Your experience 6–8 years of experience in qualified accounting Documented experience in process enhancement and leading finance-related processes. Solid knowledge of K3 and Swedish GAAP. Experience in group accounting and an understanding of group structures and reporting. Solid experience producing annual reports under Swedish GAAP. Understanding of finance documentation and structuring. Knowledge of transfer pricing processes. Solid knowledge of VAT treatment in Swedish entities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills. Curious about new technology and interested in AI, experience working with Claude or other AI tools is considered a merit. Alight was founded in 2013 and has been pioneering the Nordic solar industry ever since. We’ve repeatedly pushed the industry forward by delivering some of the region’s largest solar installations, introducing the first hybrid solar and battery storage (BESS) projects, setting new benchmarks for corporate Power Purchase Agreements, and bringing innovative financing solutions to market. By combining commercial innovation with technical excellence, we’ve played an instrumental role in shaping the Nordic renewable energy landscape. Today, we’re the leading solar and BESS IPP in the Nordics, scaling rapidly with a clear mission to kick carbon off the grid. Our success is built on an entrepreneurial mindset, a collaborative culture and talented people who enjoy solving complex challenges and turning ambitious ideas into reality. Your impact We’re looking for an Office & Event Manager to join our People team- someone who is passionate about making things work, and skilled at making them work really well. This is a hands-on role at the heart of Alight. You’ll own many of the things that make working here run smoothly: onboarding, offices, benefits, tools and vendors, as well as the events, gatherings and experiences that bring us together. We put a lot of weight on these things. They shape how people experience Alight and are a very real part of how our culture is built. You will be involved in a lot, but from day one you'll own: People Operations & Employee Experience You’ll support the employee lifecycle from pre-boarding to offboarding, making sure new joiners have what they need, coordinating benefits and training, and supporting recruitment when needed. Events You’ll plan and run our company-wide events, off-sites, team dinners, celebrations and Friday breakfasts. You’ll own the full picture: agenda, venues, suppliers, budgets and logistics. Office Management You’ll keep our offices across Europe, including Stockholm, Madrid, Helsinki, Paris and London, running well. This includes day-to-day operations, budgets and supplier relationships. Executive support You’ll provide practical support to our CEO, helping manage a busy schedule and keeping things moving. This will include calendar and meeting coordination, travel, expenses and other practical support as needed. IT & Digital Workplace You’ll make sure people have the devices, accounts, tools and access they need, from first day to last, working closely with external partners where needed. We’re looking for you You’ll have a lot of independence in this role. And while skills and experience matter, we know that being great at this job takes a certain type of person. This is a role for someone who sees what needs doing and takes responsibility for it. If you spot a problem, you don’t walk past it. You make sure it gets sorted, bringing in the right people when needed and following through until it is. You don’t wait for something to formally land on your desk before acting. You get involved where you can add value and think beyond the immediate fix. If you find yourself doing the same thing twice, you look for a way to simplify, standardise or automate it. You’re kind and service-minded, but you know that great service doesn’t mean saying yes to everything. You set expectations, communicate clearly and are comfortable telling people what will and won’t work. You have good judgement, care about people and want them to have a great experience at Alight, while also keeping the business in mind. You’re organised, independent and comfortable keeping a lot of moving pieces together. Importantly, you know when discretion matters without needing to be told. And importantly, you genuinely enjoy this kind of work. Events, employee experience and operations aren’t a stepping stone to something else. You like being close to what’s happening, making things better and being someone people can rely on. Your Experience: You’ve done a similar role before and know that you like this kind of work. You’re a strong coordinator and project manager. Keeping track of details, dependencies and deadlines comes naturally. You’ve planned and delivered larger events, ideally for around 100 people or more. You know what works, what tends to go wrong and what needs to be thought about in advance. You have experience supporting senior leaders and are comfortable managing calendars, travel and the practical details around a busy schedule. You’re comfortable owning a budget, making sensible trade-offs and following up on spend. You’re confident working with people across cultures and countries, from new joiners and senior leaders to suppliers and external partners. You are fluent in both Swedish and English, written and spoken. Willingness to work primarily onsite at our office in central Stockholm. While many Alight employees work hybrid or fully remotely, the nature of this role requires a regular onsite presence. Experience with IT coordination or device management is a plus. Sounds like a fit? Apply today! The last day to apply is 1 September. We expect to complete the recruitment process by mid-September, with a preferred start date in mid-October. If this sounds like the kind of role you’d love to own, we’d love to hear from you!
