Your Core Responsibilities System Design and Implementation * Architect and oversee the implementation of advanced HPC systems tailored to high-impact applications, including machine learning workloads * Integrate cutting-edge technologies to enhance computational power and capabilities * Evaluate and select best-in-class hardware and software solutions, optimizing our infrastructure for peak performance, scalability, efficiency, and reliability * Partner with global teams to establish and enforce architectural standards and best practices across HPC environments * Ensure seamless interoperability between different systems and teams, creating a cohesive, high-performance environment that aligns with IMC’s long-term business goals Performance Optimization * Develop and deploy solutions to continuously optimize system performance and resource utilization across the HPC ecosystem * Implement sophisticated monitoring and analytics tools to proactively identify and resolve performance bottlenecks Project Management * Lead and manage the full lifecycle of HPC projects, from concept through implementation, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards * Oversee resource allocation, budgeting, and timeline management, driving the successful execution of critical projects * Develop policies for allocating compute time, storage, and networking resources to users based on priority, need, and fairness Collaboration * Act as a trusted technical advisor to senior leadership, offering strategic insights on emerging HPC trends and their potential impact on the trading industry * Collaborate closely with quant researchers, software engineers, and traders to understand computational requirements and translate them into scalable, high-performance solutions * Partner with global teams to coordinate system design, resource allocation, and parallel project delivery, ensuring the consistent expansion of our global research environment * Evaluate success based on the HPC environment’s utilization and end-user satisfaction Your Skills and Experience * Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field * Extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in HPC architecture, system design, or a similar role within a large-scale compute environment * Deep expertise in some or all of the following areas: * HPC system design and optimization * Linux systems administration * Enterprise storage solutions (e.g., Vast, DDN, Isilon) * HPC management tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, Slurm) * High-performance processors and compute offload devices (e.g., GPUs) * Low-latency network architecture, including high-speed interconnects (e.g., InfiniBand, Ethernet) * Datacenter design and optimization * AI/ML frameworks and their integration into HPC systems * Programming languages such as Python, Go, C++, or similar * Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences * Proven ability to influence decision-making and align global teams to achieve a unified vision The Base Salary range for the role is included below. Trading Engineer - Execution

We are looking for a multi-talented and passionate Trading Systems Engineer to join our execution development team. In this role, you will take ownership of systems that sit directly in the critical path of live trading, handling everything from hardware and network connectivity to application performance and exchange interactions. This is not a pure support role — and it’s not purely project-based engineering either. It’s intentionally both. You will split your time between: * Operational support of live trading systems, ensuring stability and rapid resolution of production issues.  This portion of the role is fast-paced, highly visible and requires strong troubleshooting instincts, clear communication, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.  If you enjoy solving real-time problems and seeing immediate impact from your work, this is for you. * Project-based engineering work, improving the reliability, performance, and automation of those same systems.  The goal is simple: fewer incidents, faster recovery, more proactive monitoring, and stronger systems over time. Your Core Responsibilities: * Participate in structured support rotations to provide real-time coverage for critical execution systems * Ensure continuity of trading operations, prioritizing and resolving system issues with urgency and composure * Diagnose novel production incidents, often coordinating across trading, development, infrastructure, and external exchanges * Monitor system performance and proactively identify risks before they impact trading * Build automation tools for system orchestration and operational efficiency * Eliminate recurring issues through root cause analysis and durable fixes * Partner with technology and trading teams to refine and deploy system architecture * Enhance monitoring, observability, and resiliency * Support and optimize core market connectivity Your Skills and Experience: * Passion for problem solving and new technologies. * 2-5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Systems Integration, Production Engineering, or a related role in a heavily on-prem environment * 2-5+ years of hands-on experience with Linux operating systems, network configuration, and server management * Strong understanding of network fundamentals, including routing protocols, TCP/UDP, multicast, network offload, and kernel bypass technology * Proficiency in Python and Bash * Demonstrated curiosity and hands-on experimentation with technology—whether through personal projects, home labs, open source contributions, or deep-dive exploration of operating systems and networking * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related engineering discipline (or equivalent practical experience) Preferred Experience: * Experience with MySQL, MongoDB, and NoSQL technologies What You'll Gain: * Deep exposure to cutting-edge, low-latency trading infrastructure * Direct impact on live trading—your work matters immediately * Broad technical growth across hardware, networking, systems, and application layers * Collaboration with elite traders and engineers * Ownership and autonomy over critical systems The Base Salary range for the role is included below. Network Engineer

IMC is seeking experienced Network Engineers who are passionate about building and operating cutting-edge, high-performance networks. You’ll work closely with traders, developers, quants, and performance engineers to design, implement, and support the infrastructure that powers our trading business. Responsibilities: * Design, implement, and support the North American networking environment. Core areas include low-latency networking, unicast and multicast routing, BGP, PIM-SM, performance tuning, gap analysis, and automation. * Monitor and analyze network health using existing tools while contributing ideas and development toward next-generation monitoring solutions. * Continuously improve the environment by contributing to automation efforts (e.g., Bash, Python, Ansible, AWX). * Maintain precise documentation of IMC’s network architecture, configurations, and operational procedures. * Collaborate with external vendors, exchanges, and service providers to evaluate technology options, deploy new services, and troubleshoot issues. Requirements: * 8+ years of dedicated network engineering experience * Exceptional troubleshooting capabilities across Ethernet LAN, unicast/multicast routing, switching, packet analysis * Experience with diverse network switching hardware platforms * Hands-on scripting/automation experience (Python, Ansible, etc.) strongly preferred * CCIE or CCNP certification is a plus * Experience in trading or financial services highly preferred While this is a hybrid position, we expect an in-office presence in our Chicago office 3-4 times per week.
