The Department of Sociology and Work Science is home to one of Sweden's leading research groups in criminology. In conflict resolution, researchers and practioners work together in a well-integrated environment focused on empirical studies of crime and conflict.

The Department has approximately 110 employees and conducts internationally regocnized in areas such as social inequality, work, organizations, welfare, and education in close collaboration with the wider community.
