SYNOPSIS: The Sales Engineer is responsible for driving sales of technical and industrial products by combining engineering
knowledge with strong interpersonal and business skills. This role involves identifying customer needs, recommending suitable
products or solutions, and providing technical support throughout the sales process. The engineer works closely with
manufacturing, R&D, and marketing teams to ensure customer satisfaction and achieve sales targets. This role play a pivotal in the
marketing, sales, customer service and business development required to promote and support the organization’s products. Works to

territory sales quotas as established by the RSM and/or Director of Sales. • Be proficient in BASE selling skills and implement to
build strong customer relationships. • Differentiate Phoenix Contact from other component vendors by building “partner”
relationships with customers. • Focus on the customer by averaging a minimum of 16 to 20 sales calls per week, with at least 50%
to assigned accounts. • Fully utilize Avenue as a communication, reporting, measurement and tracking tool to enhance productivity.

requirements as it relates to personnel, product, and/or market requirements. • Work closely with Harrisburg Marketing to aid in

development through an effective skill building program as determined by the RSM, Director of Sales, and/or the Harrisburg
Training Department. • Demonstrate technical competence on all products/solutions within area of focus. • Provide forecasts and
reports to RSM as required. • Develop and implement effective sales plans across a geographic territory as defined by regional
management. • Independently and/or in conjunction with regional management, develop and implement effective Mutual Action Plans
with assigned distributor locations. • Work independently or in conjunction with regional management to plan, document, measure
and grow assigned distributor locations. • Deliver presentations and hands-on demonstrations of Phoenix Contact products,
applications, and technology for the purpose of product sales. • Where applicable, work with National Accounts Team and Harrisburg
Marketing to implement global/national account strategies in order to achieve program objectives. • Develop and maintain a working
knowledge on all Phoenix Contact products/solutions. • Qualify and follow-up on all leads within assigned territory and/or account
portfolio. • Follow-up on all quotations within assigned territory and/or account portfolio. • Responsible for all sales related
activities within assigned territory, with a focus on all control cabinet, machine mounted, and industrial networking solutions. •
Drive value-added/custom solutions within assigned account base, comprised primarily of industrial OEMs, local end users and
project business. • Become proficient on all control cabinet, machine mounted and industrial networking applications and our
corresponding solutions, to the point of being considered a consultant by the market. • Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS:
sales experience in the electronics marketplace. • Experience working with distribution preferred. • Demonstrates a willingness to

travel via airplane. • Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel via automobile for up to six hours at a time. •
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. • Must be able to travel overnight 20-25% as dictated by assigned territory. • Comply
with company dress code guidelines. • Punctuality is required. • Regular and on-time attendance.
