Primer's power grows every time a new partner plugs in — and we make that possible at scale!
In the Partners team we build the platform that enables third parties to unlock Primer's unified payments infrastructure and use
it as a foundation for their own growth. We're building the app store for payments: a scalable, flexible ecosystem where partners
can discover, integrate, and distribute through Primer.
This team covers: Partner Dashboard, Partner Integration Ownership & Management, Marketplace, Documentation & Samples, Payment &
Workflow Integrations, and the underlying integration framework (Nexus) that powers everything under the hood.
Partners is made up of two sub-teams: Partner Experience, focused on the tools and interfaces that make Primer an attractive and
easy platform for third parties to build on; and Integrations Core, focused on the technical frameworks that make integrations
scalable, consistent, and maintainable.

We are hiring for Staff Software Engineers, Backend, on multiple teams across our organization. Your application will be considered for any open positions that are a fit. Below the details of the role there is a short description of each team with an opening. YOUR MISSION As a Staff Software Engineer at Engine, you’ll play a vital role in an environment where innovation meets collaboration. Here’s what you’ll take charge of: * Design and Implement: Craft innovative software systems and APIs that contribute to the success of Engine’s mission, focusing on scalability, security, and performance. * Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product and Data Science, to unlock new opportunities and deliver seamless experiences for our customers. * Leadership: Mentor mid-to-senior level engineers, and lead efforts to ensure the quality, scalability, and robustness of our software. * Ownership: Lead key initiatives that improve efficiency, enhance system performance, and drive customer satisfaction. WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ENGINE We’re looking for someone who’s ready to make an impact and grow alongside us: * Experience: 8+ years of hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and maintaining highly available and high-performing distributed systems. You have a proven track record of building public-facing (consumer-grade) APIs and managing the complexities of versioning, deprecation, and consumption-based rate limiting. Experience with Node.js, TypeScript, Kotlin (or similar modern backend languages), and AWS is a plus. * Skills: You’re a problem-solver with a strong grasp of software design principles, scalability, and system architecture. You thrive in fast-paced, innovative environments and prioritize Domain-Driven Design. * Mindset: You’re ready to roll up your sleeves, collaborate, and deliver results that matter. Our work directly impacts conversion, revenue, and competitiveness, and the results are immediately measurable IDM Team The Identity Management team owns authentication and authorization for Hotel Engine's customers. We operate the Auth0 tenant, shape the login experience, and partner with enterprise customers to deliver secure, reliable identity integrations — so every traveler, admin, and partner can access the right things, at the right time, with confidence. Lodging Team The Lodging team owns the end-to-end traveler journey, from the first search through checkout and beyond. We build beautiful, intuitive interfaces that mask the immense complexity of global travel logistics, transforming intricate inventory data into a world-class booking experience. By managing the systems that support the entire booking life cycle, we ensure our customers have the seamless care and reliability they need at every step of their trip. PartnerHub Growth The PartnerHub Growth team manages the journey of supply partners as they discover and leverage our dedicated portal. We engineer the essential frameworks for onboarding, account architecture, and secure access control, and build the performance analytics partners use to understand how their listings perform on Engine — surfacing the moments where a deeper partnership or ad investment will pay off. Our mission is to transform initial supplier interest into lasting, high-value partnerships that drive the Engine ecosystem forward Compensation Our compensation packages are based on several factors, including your experience, expertise, and location.
