Mission before ego. Everyone contributes. No one coasts. If you’re driven by impact, pace, and raising the bar. This is the place. The Role We're looking for a SEO & AEO Specialist to join our Growth Marketing team, reporting to the Senior Director, Growth Marketing. This role covers both halves of how people, and now AI, find us: SEO, preserving and optimizing the organic search visibility and traffic we already have, and AEO, preparing for how buyers increasingly get answers from AI-powered search and answer engines (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, etc.) rather than traditional search results. SEO is the foundation AEO builds on, so this isn't an AEO-only role. We need someone with real, hands-on SEO experience, technical, on-page, and content, who is also genuinely curious about how AI answer engines retrieve and cite content. Given how new AEO is, we're wary of candidates who've rebranded as “AEO experts” without the SEO grounding to back it up, just as we're wary of someone stuck purely in classic SEO with no interest in where search is heading. You'll work closely with our Web Developer on technical foundations, and with content and product marketing to shape content that performs in both classic search and AI answers. What You’ll Do SEO: * Own core SEO performance: Drive technical health, crawlability, indexation, on-page optimization, and keyword strategy across the site. * Run technical SEO audits: Regularly audit the site and partner with the Web Developer to fix issues (site speed, schema, structure) that affect both search and AI visibility. * Protect the baseline: Maintain and grow organic search rankings and traffic as a reliable, compounding source of demand, not something we optimize once and forget. AEO: * Own AEO strategy: Define and execute Legora's approach to answer engine optimization across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Gemini, and other AI-driven discovery surfaces. * Optimize for citation, not just ranking: Structure content, schema markup, and page architecture so AI engines can easily parse, trust, and cite Legora as a source. * Monitor AI visibility: Track how and where Legora appears in AI-generated answers, build reporting to measure share of voice versus both AI answers and traditional search, and identify content gaps. Shared: * Partner cross-functionally: Work with the Web Developer on technical SEO/AEO foundations, and with content and product marketing to shape content that performs in search and answer engines alike. * Support PR on AEO outreach: Partner with PR on the listicle and third-party platform placements that matter for AEO, PR owns the outreach, you bring the AEO insight on where to focus and what to pitch. * Stay ahead of the curve: Continuously test and adapt as search and AI discovery evolve, applying disciplined SEO practice alongside the still-being-invented rules of AEO. What You Bring * Proven, hands-on SEO experience: Solid, real-world grounding in technical, on-page, and content SEO (schema, site structure, content architecture), this is the foundation the rest of the role builds on, not a box to check. * AEO/LLM curiosity: Hands-on experience or strong interest in how LLMs and AI answer engines retrieve, rank, and cite content, as an extension of strong SEO instincts, not a replacement for them. * Data-driven: Comfortable building and reading reporting on organic and AI-driven visibility, and translating it into a content roadmap. * Builder mindset: Energized by a genuinely new discipline with no established playbook; comfortable defining the approach as you go, while staying disciplined on SEO fundamentals. * Strong written communication: You can write and brief content that is clear, structured, and citation-worthy, for both humans and machines. What’s In It For You * Global collaboration: Partner with teams and clients across Europe, APAC, and North America. * Competitive package: Comprehensive salary, benefits, and tools for success. * Meaningful work: Your efforts shape how thousands of lawyers use AI daily. * In-person environment: Union Square office designed for ambitious builders and company provided lunch daily. * Benefits & Perks: We invest in our people with a comprehensive, thoughtfully designed benefits package: Medical, Dental & Vision * Multiple medical plan options through Aetna and Kaiser Permanente * HSA or Healthcare FSA (based on plan selection) * Dental plans via MetLife * Vision plans via Vision Care Family Support * Generous parental leave * Free access to Maven Clinic * Dependent Care FSA * Free One Medical membership for employees and dependents Additional Perks * Pre-tax commuter benefits * Life Insurance + STD/LTD * 401(K) with generous company match * Unlimited PTO * Robust voluntary benefits, including identity protection (via Aura), legal coverage via MetLife, pet savings programs, and more Legora is an Equal Opportunity Employer At Legora, we believe great teams are built on diversity of thought and experience.
