MOBILE CORE ENGINEER – OSS - COM4 ABOUT US Com4 is a leading global service provider in the Internet of Things (IoT), also known as “Machine to Machine” (M2M). We offer mobile data subscriptions tailored to our customers' applications in their connected devices and equipment. A central element of our core network is our IP/MPLS network, which connects network elements across our various data centers and forms the interface toward our customers and partners/providers of peering, IP Transit, and IPX/GRX. We have solutions for several VPN variants adapted for business customers with dedicated APNs and diverse communication needs. We make extensive use of MPLS in both IP and mobile network elements for efficient service production. FW and NAT solutions are important security elements in our design. The services we produce meet high requirements for uptime, and solution flexibility is a central part of the offering we provide to customers. Moving forward, the network is being further developed to support 5G SA mobile services, scale, and increase the degree of automation. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Mobile Core Engineer responsible for monitoring, observability, and integration of mobile core systems into OSS ecosystems. We will consider both senior candidates with extensive experience and juniors with shorter experience, and can adapt tasks and responsibilities in line with the candidate's profile. We are looking for someone who is solution-oriented and fearless when facing complicated tasks. We value good cooperation and communication skills, while it is also crucial to work independently and proactively within your own field of expertise. To further strengthen our technical team, we are looking for an Mobile Core Engineer who has competence or experience in several of the following areas, as well as an interest in learning more: * Knowledge of NMS tools and network performance monitoring.  * Experience with monitoring and logging solutions (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).  * Knowledge of KPIs related to mobile networks.  * Good understanding of cloud environments (Telco Cloud) and virtualization  * Collect, analyze, and present KPIs to monitor network performance.  * Solid understanding of mobile core network architectures (EPC, 5GC, protocols like Diameter, GTP, SCTP).  * Manage and operate EMS tools such as Nokia MantaRay   * Build dashboards using Grafana   * Monitor KPIs across:  EPC nodes & 5G Core NFs   * Perform signaling analysis and troubleshooting   * Integrate OSS systems with core network elements   * Strong OSS/EMS experience   * KPI modeling and alarm correlation  * Develop automation for monitoring and reporting  * Strong teamworking and collaboration skills  * Customer-focused mindset with strong communication abilities  * Participate in an on-call rotation, troubleshoot issues, and drive incident resolution to minimize downtime. ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking for a Billing Engineer for our BSS team, motivated to ensure that the business critical billing is performed with high quality on time. This is a vital role for the company. You will be part of a BSS team responsible for CMP & Billing, and you will report to the Head of BSS. As part of this team you will ensure revenue assurance, handle day-to-day operations, and help shape product development to automate and scale these complex data pipelines. In this role you will work tightly with finance, sales, data engineering, product, and customer operations. We are looking for a senior candidate, but mid-level professionals with the right qualifications are encouraged to apply. You don’t need a background in Telecom or IoT to be successful, that can be learned. What matters most is your ability to solve problems and drive results. We value strong collaboration, open communication, and a proactive mindset where you can take ownership of your work. While the skills below are helpful, we prioritize your potential and eagerness to learn; this role offers significant room for growth.  To further strengthen our technical team, we are looking for a Billing Engineer who has competence or experience in several of the following areas, as well as an interest in learning more: * Experience with billing, revenue assurance or managing complex data. * Knowledge of automatic billing and pricing systems, with experience managing invoicing operations, rating engines, and managing high-volume data transactions. * Familiarity with the telecom value chain, charging models, or CDR processing. * Bonus points for knowing TM Forum frameworks (eTOM, SID, TAM). * A developer mindset and background is considered a plus, but not a must. If you like to develop your own solutions, it is good to know that you will have powerful AI tools at your disposal (including Claude) and macs capable of system development. * Some proficiency in IT development, system operations, and automation tools (including SQL and scripting languages), for either collaborating with Com4 developers or creating efficiency autonomously. * An interest or background in billing product management, such as adapting price plans to offerings. At Com4 this means IoT cellular data products or broadband solutions like Fixed Wireless Access or new satellite services like Starlink reselling. * A proactive approach, you can drive projects forward without being micromanaged. We welcome applicants with both extensive or shorter experience, and the role will be tailored to the right candidate's background.  As an IoT Solution Expert, you will hold a broad and leading technical role within a highly competent environment specializing in IoT solutions based on cellular and satellite connectivity. You will play a central part in driving innovation aligned with customer requirements and market developments. You will engage in direct dialogue with globally leading suppliers of HW, SIMs, and solutions for eSIM management. Additionally, you will work closely with customers to develop new and innovative solutions for IoT connectivity. Our customers' products are utilized worldwide and include solutions within EV charging, smart metering, payment terminals, tracking (animals, assets, bicycles, cars), as well as various industrial applications.  To succeed, you must be an expert who collaborates well across a broad technical and commercial environment. We value strong cooperation and communication skills, while it is equally essential that you can work independently and proactively within your own field of expertise.  Key Responsibilities:  * Technical Advisory & Design: Work closely with customers to analyze requirements, as well as design and architect innovative IoT solutions that meet future demands for security and scalability.  * Vendor Dialogue & Partnerships: Co-operate with globally leading suppliers of IoT hardware, modules, chipsets, and platforms for eSIM/eUICC management.  * SIM Portfolio Development & Management: Collaborate with technical teams and suppliers to develop new SIM and eSIM products, as well as manage the existing SIM and eSIM solutions that Com4 offers today.  * Testing & Lab Work: Evaluate, test, and troubleshoot hardware, SIM cards, and eSIM profiles to ensure optimal performance and network compatibility.  * Automation & Tool Development: Develop internal support tools, scripts, and test scripts to automate workflows and optimize our delivery processes.  * Technological Scouting: Stay up-to-date on trends within IoT, 5G, and satellite technology to ensure Com4 remains at the forefront of market developments.  * Presales: Actively support commercial teams by providing technical advisory on IoT solutions during presales and tender processes.  Desired Qualifications:  * Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in data communication, electronics, cybernetics, IT, computer science, or equivalent (relevant experience may compensate for a lack of formal education).  * Experience: Experience from a mobile network operator (telco), electronics development, network architecture, or the IT consulting industry is a major advantage.  * Expertise: Strong understanding of, and interest in, specialized hardware, modules, and SIM/eSIM technology.  * Technical Skills: Experience with troubleshooting embedded devices, as well as general programming or scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar) for automation purposes.  * Languages: Strong communication skills in Norwegian (or another Scandinavian language) and English, both written and spoken.  What We Offer  Com4 is a highly attractive workplace.
