Om tjänsten

We at WeQuel are now looking for an Embedded Engineer in Södertälje, where you will become an important part of the client’s

System and Software team, focusing on developing and integrating functions and systems for both defence and civilian vehicles. The

client’s special vehicles unit develops customer-specific solutions that go beyond the standard product offering. The work is

close to the product and combines a prototyping mindset with production readiness: finding pragmatic solutions, testing them in

vehicles, and making sure they are robust enough for production and customer use. You will work with system and software

development across several parts of the vehicle, covering the complete development chain, from customer needs and requirements

through function and system development to software impact and implementation.

As a consultant with us, you will have the opportunity to work with one of our clients, who are leading companies in the

automotive, heavy vehicle and defence industries. There you will help develop innovative vehicle functions, take solutions from

idea to production, and create robust, sustainable systems for demanding customer applications.

Your responsibilities:

Concept development and prototyping
System integration across several parts of the vehicle
Embedded software development
Testing, troubleshooting and verification
Systemization of quick adaptations in existing systems
Taking solutions from initial idea or prototype to production-ready implementation
Technical deep dives into existing systems
Administration of system change requests
  • Development across the full chain: customer needs, requirements, function and system development, software impact and

implementation

Rig-based development and testing when needed

Typical projects include:

  • Defence: PHEV based on BEV3, navigation system, tactical functions, Protected Cab, onboard diagnostics, Central Tire Inflation

Systems

Civilian: Longline, BEV for mining, Super Heavy Haulage, City Door, mixed suspension solutions

Projects vary in size and technical content and often run in parallel, so you can expect a high and variable pace, short

development loops, and close cooperation with other parts of the client’s organization. Most work is performed in the office,

supported by rig-based development and testing when needed.

Requirements:

Experience in embedded software and/or system development
Experience in vehicle functions, electronics or system integration
Experience with CAN communication
Master’s degree in mechatronics, physics, computer science or other relevant field
Good English skills
Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
Hands-on approach to development and problem solving
Interest in building broad vehicle and system knowledge
Curious, pragmatic and willing to learn
Comfortable working across different technical areas
Ability to investigate problems and take responsibility for finding a way forward
Technical curiosity and ownership
Hands-on engineering mindset and interest in seeing solutions come to life in vehicles and test rigs

Please note: candidates with a purely web-based software development background are not the target profile for this role.

Meritorious:

Experience with the client’s processes and systems
Experience with the client’s vehicle architecture
Diagnostics
Electrification

You do not need to be an expert in every vehicle system. Above all, the client values technical curiosity, ownership and the

willingness to learn.
