AUTOMATION ENGINEER TO ESSENTIA PROTEIN SOLUTIONS – NEAR ÄNGELHOLM, SWEDEN

Essentia Protein Solutions operates in a growing global market for protein, collagen and functional food ingredients. As the
business continues to develop and invest in its production capabilities, we are now looking for an Automation Engineer to join the
production facility in Stidsvig, just outside Ängelholm in north-western Skåne.
This is an opportunity for an experienced automation professional who enjoys being close to production, solving real technical
challenges and at the same time taking a longer-term perspective on automation, reliability and continuous improvement.
A ROLE WITH REAL OWNERSHIP
This is not a role where you will simply sit behind a desk programming PLCs.
You will take broad responsibility for automation at the Stidsvig facility, working hands-on with production and maintenance while
also helping shape the long-term automation strategy.
Your responsibilities will include:
Programming, troubleshooting and optimising PLC and automation systems
Working closely with production and maintenance to improve operational reliability
Developing preventive and corrective maintenance routines
Performing and leading root cause analyses
Identifying and driving technical improvements and modernisation initiatives
Defining technical requirements and supporting investment planning
Commissioning new equipment, including testing, troubleshooting and verification
Developing technical documentation, structure and working methods within automation
Over time, there may also be opportunities to contribute your automation expertise to Essentia's international development,
including the establishment of a production facility outside Madrid.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We believe you have experience within automation in process industry or another production environment and are comfortable working
close to the actual production process.
You have solid experience in:
PLC programming and industrial automation
Siemens and TIA Portal, or comparable automation platforms
Troubleshooting and problem solving in a production environment
SCADA/HMI systems
Industrial communication and networks
Experience with iFix, Profinet, OPC UA, AS-i or Sattcon is an advantage, but we do not expect you to know every technology from
day one.
You probably have a university or vocational degree within automation, electrical engineering or a related technical field.
Relevant practical experience can equally well provide the background we are looking for.
As Essentia is an international organisation, you should be comfortable communicating in English.
MORE THAN TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
Technical competence is important – but how you work is just as important.
We are looking for someone who is curious, independent and solution-oriented, while also being collaborative and down-to-earth.
You enjoy understanding how the entire production process works and are comfortable leaving your desk to solve problems together
with operators, maintenance technicians and other colleagues on the production floor.
At the same time, you are structured and able to look beyond today's operational challenges to identify how systems, processes and
ways of working can be improved for tomorrow.
In short, we are looking for a hands-on Automation Engineer who enjoys solving today's problems while building tomorrow's
solutions.
