As we continue our growth journey, we are looking for a Legal Counsel to join our headquarters in Stockholm and play a central
role in supporting our international M&A activities.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded lawyer who wants to work close to the business and be involved in
transactions from start to finish.
As Legal Counsel, you will become part of a small, high-performing team driving Safe Life’s continued expansion. You will work
closely with our M&A and finance functions and take ownership of the legal aspects of acquisitions across multiple jurisdictions.
The role is primarily focused on M&A and transaction-related matters, with acquisitions forming a central part of Safe Life’s
growth strategy. You will take ownership of legal workstreams across multiple transactions simultaneously and play an important
role in driving deals from initial assessment through closing and post-closing implementation.
Alongside M&A, you will support selected corporate, governance and compliance-related initiatives as the organisation continues to
expand internationally.
Your responsibilities will include:
Managing legal aspects of acquisitions throughout the entire transaction process
Coordinating and overseeing legal due diligence together with external counsel
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, including share purchase agreements and related contracts
Supporting negotiations with founders, management teams and sellers across international markets
Driving post-closing legal activities and ensuring effective implementation of agreed actions
Supporting corporate governance and general corporate legal matters
Maintaining and developing policies, governance frameworks and compliance initiatives
Assisting with selected commercial and procurement-related agreements
This role offers extensive exposure to international M&A and the opportunity to take ownership of transactions throughout the
entire deal lifecycle – from initial due diligence and negotiations through signing, closing and post-closing execution.
The position is based at Safe Life’s headquarters in Stockholm and reports to the Group General Counsel.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a lawyer who combines strong technical skills with a pragmatic and business-oriented mindset.
You enjoy taking ownership, building relationships and moving projects forward. You are confident in negotiations, comfortable
managing multiple workstreams simultaneously and able to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
A law degree from a recognised university
Approximately 3–5 years of relevant experience from a leading law firm and/or an in-house legal function
Strong M&A experience, including hands-on involvement throughout the transaction lifecycle
Experience drafting and negotiating transaction documentation, including share purchase agreements
The ability to independently manage legal workstreams and drive processes forward
Excellent stakeholder management and project coordination skills
Fluent English, both written and spoken
Experience working on cross-border transactions is considered a strong advantage.
