LotusWorks is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, integral to our people-first approach.  LotusWorks is seeking a Mechanical Quality & Commissioning Technician to support commissioning and startup activities within a semiconductor manufacturing facility in Arizona. This role will work closely with commissioning, construction, engineering, and operations teams to support project execution while ensuring systems are installed, documented, and prepared for turnover in accordance with project requirements. The successful candidate will have experience working with mechanical systems in industrial, semiconductor, or mission-critical environments. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform inspections of mechanical systems and equipment to verify compliance with project specifications and quality requirements. * Support startup and commissioning activities for mechanical exhaust fans, air handling units (AHUs), chillers, pumps, and associated equipment. * Conduct equipment walkdowns to verify installation quality, system readiness, and commissioning status. * Identify, document, and communicate deficiencies, punch-list items, and non-conforming work requiring corrective action. * Assist with pre-functional inspections, startup activities, and system validation testing. * Coordinate with construction, commissioning, engineering, and operations teams to support successful system startup and turnover. * Review commissioning documentation, inspection records, and test reports for accuracy and completeness. * Maintain accurate commissioning records, checklists, and turnover documentation. * Ensure compliance with site safety requirements and established commissioning procedures. * Support project turnover activities by verifying systems are ready for operational handoff. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. SKILLS REQUIRED: * 3+ years of experience inspecting, starting up, commissioning, and troubleshooting mechanical equipment including exhaust fans, air handling units (AHUs), chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and hydronic water systems within mission-critical environments. * Experience in mechanical commissioning, startup, construction, quality, facilities, operations, or related technical roles. * Knowledge of mechanical system readiness, equipment startup, inspections, and commissioning processes. * Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment documentation, and commissioning records. * Familiarity with hydronic water distribution systems and mechanical utility infrastructure. * Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical documentation skills. * Knowledge of safe work practices within mission-critical, industrial, semiconductor, or manufacturing environments. * Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines. EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred. * Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable. Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run. We have recently established a mechanical testing laboratory in our Bordeaux site to support internal development and qualification of hardware — especially 3D printed parts and subsystem assemblies. The lab is now operational, equipped with tensile/fatigue benches, metallography tools, and a Mitutoyo CMM. We are looking for a Test & MetrologyTechnician to operate this equipment on a daily basis and support the execution and continuous improvement of our test campaigns. You will work in close coordination with the Laboratory Engineer and with other teams in Design, Manufacturing, and Quality. YOUR MISSION Your role will focus on performing and supporting mechanical tests and inspections within our internal lab, including: * Conducting mechanical tests: tensile, compression, hardness, bending and fatigue testing on metallic and polymer parts (mainly 3D printed). * Preparing test samples (cutting, mounting, polishing, etching) for metallographic analysis and microscopy. * Performing dimensional inspections using a Mitutoyo CMM or conventional tools and assisting with part referencing and reporting. * Operating all lab equipment safely and efficiently. * Applying and improving test procedures in collaboration with the Lab Engineer. * Recording test conditions, results, and anomalies accurately in internal databases and reports. * Supporting preventive maintenance and daily upkeep of the lab (calibrations, consumables, cleanliness, ESD, etc.). YOUR PROFILE * Education: BTS, DUT, or Licence Pro in Mechanical Testing, Materials, or Industrial Measurements. * Experience: * At least 2 years in a mechanical or materials testing lab. * Hands-on experience with CMMs (Mitutoyo or similar) and GD&T interpretation. * Familiarity with metallographic sample preparation and microscopy is a plus. * Skills: * Rigorous, methodical, and confident with physical testing and instrumentation. * Comfortable working with procedures, data logging, and quality documentation. * Proactive and collaborative, with a willingness to improve workflows and solve practical problems. * Languages: Working proficiency in either French or English. Basic level in the other language is a plus.
