LotusWorks is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, integral to our people-first approach.  As a Certified Welding Inspector working with the LotusWorks team, you will join our client site in the semiconductor sector. This role is based at a leading semiconductor manufacturing facility in Chandler, Arizona and will support construction quality activities across mechanical, process mechanical, and structural systems during facility expansion and construction projects. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform welding inspections in accordance with applicable codes, standards, project specifications, and quality requirements. * Conduct visual inspections of welds on stainless steel, carbon steel, and plastic piping systems, as well as structural components. * Review and interpret Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Procedure Qualification Records (PQR), and related quality documentation. * Verify the qualification of welders and welding operators. * Monitor welding activities to ensure compliance with approved procedures, project requirements, and safety protocols. * Identify, document, and track welding deficiencies and verify corrective actions. * Prepare and maintain accurate inspection records, reports, and turnover documentation. * Collaborate with construction, quality, engineering, and client teams to resolve welding-related issues. * Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, quality, and project standards. * Support project turnover activities through completion of required inspection and quality documentation. * Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality processes and project execution. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. SKILLS REQUIRED: * Experience in welding inspection, preferably within semiconductor construction, industrial construction, mission-critical facilities, advanced manufacturing, or similar environments. * Experience inspecting welds on stainless steel, carbon steel, and plastic piping systems. * Knowledge of mechanical, process mechanical, and structural construction practices. * Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and quality standards. * Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, isometric drawings, and welding documentation. * Familiarity with construction quality control and inspection processes. * Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. * Effective communication and teamwork abilities. * Commitment to maintaining a safe and quality-focused work environment. EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS * Must possess a current Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification through the American Welding Society (AWS) or equivalent. * Additional certifications related to welding inspection or quality assurance are preferred. * Proof of education, licenses, and certifications will be required where applicable. This role is essential in ensuring systems remain reliable, safe, and compliant with industry standards. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to collaborate closely with engineers and vendors in a fast-paced environment. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Perform maintenance on operating equipment in accordance with client guidelines and procedures. * Create and upload files for equipment entering the client’s operational system. * Conduct preservation activities on non-operating equipment to maintain readiness and integrity. * Complete safe state verification and signoff for non-operating equipment. * Escalate vendor-required preservation to FCE/FFO to facilitate site visits. * Collaborate with central engineers on escalations and review of equipment preservation checklists. * Respond promptly to equipment shutdowns and alarms; escalate issues to central engineers as required. * Perform rounds and readings on non-automated equipment and facility areas to ensure proper operation. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. SKILLS REQUIRED: * We invite anyone who is entry level to those who have 3–10 years of experience in operations, maintenance, or technician roles in a semiconductor, manufacturing, or industrial facility, to apply. * Strong knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical systems such as HVAC, process utilities, and facility support equipment. * Familiarity with maintenance procedures, preservation practices, and safe state verification. * Ability to interpret and follow technical procedures, preservation checklists, and operational guidelines. * Proficient in documenting activities and updating operational systems. * Excellent troubleshooting and escalation skills in response to alarms, shutdowns, or equipment issues. * Strong communication and teamwork skills for working with engineers, vendors, and site leadership. With offices across EMEA, we are strategically positioned to support your business wherever you need us.   Role Overview The Lead Commissioning Authority (Lead CxA) oversees and ensures the safe, reliable, and compliant commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems, building control and monitoring systems and critical infrastructure—primarily within mission-critical facilities such as data centres.   This role ensures that all building systems perform according to design intent, owner’s requirements, industry standards, and operational needs.   The Lead CxA leads commissioning delivery across multiple projects, provides technical oversight during all construction phases, and ensures a seamless transition from equipment delivery, through to construction and to live commissioning. Drawing from strong MEP, commissioning, and quality-assurance experience, the Lead CxA acts as a trusted advisor to clients, design teams, and contractors.   Key Responsibilities   Commissioning Leadership & Delivery Lead and manage commissioning processes from pre-design through post-occupancy, ensuring compliance with Owner’s Project Requirements (OPR), Basis of Design (BOD) and design specifications. Oversee functional performance testing for all mechanical, electrical, building control and monitoring systems and life safety systems. Review design documents, submittals, and shop drawings to ensure alignment with commissioning requirements. Develop commissioning strategies, programs, method statements, test scripts, and final reports. Conduct site surveys, progress inspections, and quality audits, reporting findings to project stakeholders. Client & Stakeholder Coordination Act as the primary commissioning interface for clients, general contractors, and design teams. Lead commissioning meetings, workshops, and integrated system testing (IST) coordination sessions. Build strong relationships and ensure clear communication regarding commissioning progress, issues, and risks. Team Management & Oversight Provide technical leadership to Commissioning Engineers and Managers and SME’s (Subject Matter Experts). Mentor and develop junior members of the commissioning team. Ensure all team members are competent, trained, and aligned with quality and safety standards. Quality Assurance & Compliance Ensure commissioning is performed in accordance with statutory, industry, and project-specific standards. Review installation quality and verify that systems are installed and tested to design intent. Implement lessons-learned processes and continuous improvement initiatives across projects. Health & Safety Drive a strong safety culture and always ensure strict adherence to site health and safety protocols.   Qualifications Trade apprenticeship or relevant electrical/mechanical engineering qualification. CSCS / Safe Pass / ECS / SMSTS certification – essential. BEng (Hons) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering Project management qualification (e.g., Prince2) – advantageous. Skills & Experience Extensive commissioning experience in mission-critical environments (data centres essential). Ideally 4-6 years’ technical experience in design, installation, and commissioning of MEP systems. Strong stakeholder management in term of leading and managing in person meeting with the clients and vendors. Strong understanding of commissioning processes, integrated system testing, and quality assurance. Ability to develop high-quality commissioning documentation: plans, scripts, checklists, and reports. Excellent client-facing skills with the ability to influence and drive decisions.
