An ability to learn and a determination to grow are more important than the knowledge you already have.     YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES   With support and guidance from your peers, you will work as part of our technical team on client assignments in multi-disciplinary projects for a wide range of markets. You may work on one or more projects at a time, in a variety of different disciplines and roles, including RF design, simulation, testing, and measurement.  You will have the chance to interact directly with clients at all phases of projects, from requirements capture and progress updates through delivery to final handover. You will collaborate closely with software, RF, signal processing, mechanical and AI engineers  You will also have access to our extensive in-house facilities. Should you attend a face-to-face interview, we’ll provide a tour of our labs which support hardware development engineering during your visit.  These include:   * Prototype PCB manufacturing facilities, including SMT pick-and-place, vapour-phase reflow and x-ray inspection  * EMC emissions test facility  * 5GHz 360° antenna test facility    WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING  Cambridge Consultants works on a wide range of product and system developments for a broad range of clients. We will give you the time, support and opportunities needed to apply your skills confidently and build a reputation as a reliable member of the team. Your tasks may include:   * Field experiments to validate concepts  * PCB level RF circuit design and laboratory-based design validation of technology such as:  * RF filters  * Power amplifiers  * Oscillators  * Development of system models  * Antenna modelling using our sophisticated design tools  * As required, present designs, results and conclusions  * Work as part of a close-knit, multi-disciplinary project team focused on delivering design solutions to our clients  Some interesting RF and electronics challenges that we’ve previously solved include:  * Collaborating with LEGO to develop LEGO® SMART Play™   * Prototyping large airborne antennas for global 5G coverage.   * Creating secure satellite communication systems.   * Overcoming smart meter challenges for the last 5% by developing a custom ZigBee to Long-Range Radio Bridge  * Developing a novel air-interface and bespoke communication systems for the Ocado Smart Platform controlling hundreds of robots in grocery distribution centres  * Next-generation Explosive Ordnance Disposal for the British Army    WHAT YOU CAN BRING   We are looking for someone currently studying towards, or recently graduated from, a MEng degree in Electronic Engineering or a closely related discipline, on track to achieve or having achieved a 2.1 or above. We also welcome applications from recent graduates with industrial experience.  You will also have:  * A solid foundation in electronic principles with an RF leaning.  * Familiarity with RF test equipment (such as spectrum analysers and network analysers).  While not essential requirements, we would also be very interested if you have experience with any of the following:  * Knowledge of RF simulation tools  * Experience in electronics design and schematic capture   * An understanding of RF measurements and lab-based debugging   A motivated and detail-oriented engineer who is confident working in a hands-on laboratory environment will thrive in this role.  Please ensure your CV includes your A Level (or equivalent) subjects and grades, as well as any relevant university modules.  Along with your CV, please describe why you are attracted to this position, what you feel you offer Cambridge Consultants, and any achievements that you are particularly proud of. Position Summary: The Solder Assembler is responsible for assembling, soldering, and inspecting PCB test boards and SMT hardware to meet quality standards. This role includes hand soldering, component placement, and rework using standard tools and microscopes, while following work instructions and supporting both development and production activities. Salary range: $27-$32/hr. Job Function: Performs precision soldering of small components, including micro-soldering down to 01005 (10 × 5 mil) component size. Completes small-scale mechanical assembly, including handling and fitting of metal components. Executes delicate rework and repair tasks while minimizing risk of damage to surrounding components. Performs self-inspection to ensure work meets quality standards and specifications. Assists in troubleshooting assemblies through visual inspection and basic fault identification. Reads and interprets assembly drawings; provides feedback and markup suggestions for improvements or design changes as needed. May support chip and wire assembly processes as required. Maintains a clean and organized work area and contributes to overall lab cleanliness and upkeep. Qualifications: High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent required Minimum of 5 years of hands-on assembly experience, including Surface Mount Technology (SMT) and small mechanical assembly. Ability to interpret and follow electronic work instructions, assembly drawings, and technical documentation. Able to sit and perform detailed bench work for extended periods of time. Skilled in working under a microscope to perform precision assembly tasks. Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ERP systems. Willing to learn die attach processes, including the application of electrically conductive epoxies using both manual techniques and automated dispensing equipment. Willing to learn wire bonding processes using various wire and ribbon sizes, including both ball and wedge bonding techniques. Ability to work collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment, including engineers, technicians, assemblers, designers, and manufacturing process engineers (MPEs). Comfortable operating in a hybrid development and production environment with rapidly changing priorities. Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement of assembly skills and works closely with team members to enhance performance. Able to work in a Class 100,000 cleanroom environment while following required protocols.
