Senior Embedded Software Engineer – Consulting Assignment within Transportation / Logistics We at WeQuel are now looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer in Stockholm, where you will become an important part of a device-focused development team with a focus on connected products and IoT solutions. You will be involved in the development, integration, and maintenance of embedded software running on connected devices, working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions. Your responsibilities: * Design, development, and maintenance of embedded software for connected devices * Contribution to architecture and implementation of IoT solutions * Development and optimization of software components using Python and other relevant technologies * Support for integration between device software, cloud services, and backend systems * Troubleshooting, debugging, and improvement of system performance and reliability * Collaboration with engineering, product, and operations teams in an agile environment * Senior-level guidance to create stability and structure within the development team * Participation in code reviews and promotion of software engineering best practices You work in a dynamic environment where you independently drive your work forward while collaborating across multiple interfaces within the organization. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: We will be looking for an experienced software engineer to be a core member of the new Platform team, working closely with the Engineering Lead. You will be working within our Energy and Resources group to: * Be an integral part of the design, build, and ongoing development of a new data platform, with associated tools and software - this will be almost entirely greenfield opportunities to create a holistic user experience for Baringa staff. YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: We will be looking for people to join the team who will be committed to designing and building high quality and fit-for-purpose systems, enabling our staff to maximise the creation, utilisation and management of the various models, tools and data frameworks that enable market-leading insights for our clients. * You are passionate about building the ‘right’ solution to problems, and understanding the ‘why’ behind what you’re building to support Baringa’s work in the energy sector. * You have practical experience as a senior engineer in highly motivated engineering team(s), collaborating closely with colleagues and taking pride in what you create. * You are great at problem solving and see all technologies/engineering as a means to achieve this. * You have advanced working knowledge of a general programming language (e.g. Scala, Python, Java, C# etc.) and understand both domain modelling and application programming. * You have working knowledge of data management platforms (SQL, NoSQL, Spark/Databricks etc.) * You have working knowledge of modern software engineering tools (Git, CI/CD pipelines), cloud technologies (Azure, AWS) and IaC (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi) * You have worked with different frameworks throughout technology stacks (e.g. React/Angular/Vue/Blazor frontends etc., FastAPI/Spring Boot/Django/.NET backends etc.) * You have experience building and working across different architectural approaches, and are confident in justifying your technology and architectural choices. * You are passionate about communicating complex concepts succinctly to both technical and non-technical colleagues and clients to reach a common understanding. * You have experience working with agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum/Kanban), with an understanding of the key principles that underpin its effective use.
