In this role you will report to our Project Risk and Opportunity Lead and sit within our Project Delivery function. The role requires excellent personal and interpersonal skills, and you will be at the core of our project delivery team, working across the full lifecycle of greenfield and brownfield projects. A role which supports all aspects of risk management ensuring that both qualitative and quantitative risk insights guide decision-making and delivery planning. Specific to this role, the day-to-day tasks will include the following but as we are a growing company with very little silos between teams, other tasks might be included as well. * Develop and implement risk plans for capital projects across all lifecycle phases (FEL1 to execution). * Facilitate structured assessments, project risk workshops, technical and non-technical. Update of risk registers, support risk and action owners, and verify mitigation activities. * Plan and facilitate Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) workshops and model capital risk profiles. * Perform integrated cost and schedule Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) using industry tools such as Safran Risk and @RISK. * Oversee maintain, monitor, and analyze project risk registers to ensure proactive mitigation and alignment with project objectives. * Support risk-based decision-making at both the project and program level through clear communication methods. * Provide coaching and training to project teams on risk principles and methods, and collaborate closely with project functions such as Planning, Cost, HSE, and Engineering to embed risk management into project systems and culture. * Assess internal and external project environments to tailor and implement project-specific risk management plans. * Configure project risk structures (registers, matrices, breakdowns), and lead facilitation of workshops to develop project risk profiles. * Lead specialized risk reviews (procurement, contract, change, and hazard studies), oversee decision analysis and value assessments, manage reporting to internal and external stakeholders, and ensure integration of risk into project controls. * Support project close-out by documenting lessons learned and ensure alignment with ISO-based risk framework * Liaise with the Risk and Opportunities Lead regarding risk practice application and best practices. Forward Deployed Operator Terranova is hiring a Forward Deployed Operator to help deploy, operate, and improve our robotic land elevation systems in the field. This is a hands-on, field-heavy role for someone who can run machines, fix equipment, work outside, and solve weird, difficult problems in real time. You will work either a Thursday-Monday or Friday-Tuesday schedule. Weekend work is part of the job. A sixth day will be required in rare weeks where you were not deployed to the field for most of the week. Most days, you will be on site preparing for injections, operating robots, running support equipment, troubleshooting failures, and helping the team execute field work safely and quickly. The role will include moving heavy materials and equipment, some manual labor, and operating or supporting traditional field machinery such as loaders, forklifts, skid steers, trailers, pumps, generators, and other site equipment. You will work closely with mechanical engineers, embedded systems engineers, and senior forward deployed engineers to test new hardware, improve field procedures, suggest changes to robots, and make the system more reliable every week. You will also help improve our autopilot system by giving strong field feedback on robot behavior, sensors, controls, operator workflows, failure modes, and what needs to change for real deployments. A lot of the job involves tricky physical and mechanical work where the right answer is not obvious, the equipment is heavy, the environment is imperfect, and mistakes can damage equipment or create safety risks. We need someone who can think clearly, communicate well, and do hard things safely while still moving fast. Responsibilities * Deploy and operate Terranova’s field robots, injection systems, pumps, sensors, and support equipment * Operate or support traditional field equipment and heavy machinery * Prepare field sites for injection work, including setup, staging, surveying support, material handling, and cleanup * Move heavy equipment, materials, hoses, tools, and parts safely and efficiently * Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, controls, and field equipment issues * Test new hardware, tools, procedures, robot upgrades, and autonomy features with the engineering team * Help improve Terranova’s autopilot system by identifying field gaps, testing changes, and giving clear feedback to senior forward deployed engineers and embedded systems engineers * Support drilling, pumping, sensing, injection sequencing, and field data collection * Document work clearly, including equipment issues, repairs, test results, site conditions, field procedures, and lessons learned * Identify failure modes and suggest practical changes to robots, equipment, software, and field processes * Work through hard, ambiguous problems using first-principles thinking, including underground flow, pressure, injection behavior, soil response, and equipment performance * Maintain a high standard for safety, urgency, and quality in the field What we’re looking for We are looking for someone who is mechanically sharp, reliable, physically capable, and calm under pressure. You should like fixing things, operating equipment, working outside, and figuring out problems where there is no manual. You do not need a college degree, but you should have strong technical judgment and a track record of building, repairing, operating, or improving real systems. Experience with robotics, controls, mechanical systems, electrical systems, pumps, hydraulics, engines, construction equipment, vehicles, heavy machinery, field operations, or industrial equipment is valuable. A background in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, embedded systems, robotics, or controls is a strong plus. About the job About the Company The WASH Governance Group at the Swedish Environmental Research Institute, IVL, is looking for an Expert to work on different water and sanitation programs in the West Asia and North Africa (WANA) region from our office in Amman, Jordan. IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute is an independent research organization headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden, with around 500 experts working across environment and sustainability. The WASH Group is a global team of nearly 20 colleagues based in Stockholm, Bogotá, Amman, Mumbai, and other locations. The WANA office in Amman consists of a small team on site, working in a shared co-working environment. Together, we combine research, technical expertise, and international collaboration to strengthen sustainable and resilient water and sanitation services. About the Role The Expert will be responsible for implementation and development of water governance related projects in relation to resilient water supply and sanitation. This includes knowledge development and research functions, as well as capacity building, technical support and advice on governance related to water supply and sanitation issues; responsible for project development and development of methodologies, tools and knowledge products, the position also include project management, when required. The position is a full-time role. Responsibilities Support the implementation of programmes for the WANA Region, in coordination with the rest of the team in WANA and Stockholm. (Approx. 80% of the time), focused on climate resilience and systems strengthening for water and sanitation services. Contribute to the implementation of other programs in the water and sanitation department outside the WANA Region (Approx. 20% of time). Contribute to the thematic development of IVL´s portfolio in the areas of resilient water supply and sanitation governance. Provide technical support and advisory services to support water governance processes to countries and to IVL partners as per demand. Develop and/or contribute to the development of knowledge products, training materials, methodologies, tools and research. Organize and facilitate workshops/trainings as needed. Oversee programme finances, administration, and results reporting for assigned programmes. Identify and develop relationships with local and regional partners. Qualifications At least 10 years of experience working with policy development and implementation of water services in emerging and developing economies contexts, including direct experience (at least 4 years) of working in the WANA Region. Master's degree in a relevant discipline, such as Water Resources, Civil or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Water Governance, Public Policy/International Development, or a related field. PhD in relevant topic will be an asset. Required Skills Expertise in global climate change and disaster risk reduction processes. Solid understanding of environmental and climate policies, strategies, institutions, and regulations. Experience in applying knowledge to climate policy-related decisions and advice. Proven experience of working with water governance in relation to water supply and sanitation at local, national and international level, particularly in the WANA Region, including in fragile and conflict-affected settings. Expertise in governance and systems strengthening for water and sanitation, including policy and legislative processes, planning, regulation, sector coordination, and sector reform. Experience of integrating water scarcity into water and sanitation programming. Solid understanding of water resource management, including drought management will be an asset. Experience of program/project development and implementation, particularly in the WANA Region. Experience of working with capacity development, stakeholder facilitation, institutional strengthening and policy development in relation to water and sanitation services. Expertise in translating research into actionable knowledge products (e.g., policy briefs, technical guides, or methodologies). Familiarity with global and national water-related policies, processes, and key water agencies in one or more WANA countries (e.g. Jordan, Iraq, Syria) will be an advantage. Proven ability to advocate for WASH governance at regional and global events, such as climate weeks, water summits, and policy dialogues is an advantage. Proven capacity to develop and implement technical solutions, such as tools, methodologies, and knowledge products, tailored to the unique challenges of fragile contexts. Strong managerial skills, including planning, budgeting and risk management; managing external and internal relations; coordinating a number of programme partners; Experience in other regions will be an asset. Vi på Länsstyrelsen Västernorrland bidrar till hållbar regional utveckling i länet. Vi ser till djurens och människornas livsvillkor. Vi arbetar med natur- och kulturvärden. Och i händelse av en samhällsstörning, kris eller krig är vi med och samordnar skyddet av våra medborgare. Enheten för samhällsskydd och beredskap Länsstyrelsen har ett omfattande ansvar inom civilt försvar, krisberedskap och skydd mot olyckor på regional nivå. Vi har många uppdrag inom området. Dessa uppdrag hanteras i stor utsträckning av enheten Samhällsskydd och beredskap. När något allvarligt inträffar i Västernorrland har vi en aktiv roll att samordna hanteringen av händelsen i länet. Enheten ansvarar för samordning av funktionen Tjänsteman i beredskap (TiB) vilken till stor del bemannas av enhetens medarbetare.  Enheten består idag av tolv medarbetare med varierad sammansättning av kompetens och erfarenhet. Enheten har fått flera nya uppdrag under 2026 och beräknas därför växa med ett antal nya medarbetare under hösten och vintern. Ett av de nya uppdragen är projektet Secure Kvarken. Projektet sammanhålls av Södra Österbottens Förbund i Finland, och Länsstyrelsen Västernorrland är en av flera projektpartner. Länsstyrelsen har uppgiften att vara delprojektledare och samordna deltagandet i projektet av länets sju kommuner. Vår forskning och undervisning fokuserar på att förstå hur vatten uppstår och transporteras i naturliga och urbana system, baserat på undersökningar och modellering av olika aspekter av den hydrologiska cykeln från källa till hav, inklusive både vattenkvalitet och kvantitet samt frågor kring vattenhantering och reglering. Detta inkluderar, men är inte begränsat till, studier av vattenrörelser över ytan och i vattendrag, översvämningar och torka, system för att minska deras konsekvenser, faktorer som påverkar vattenanvändning och -kvalitet, samt erosion längs öppna kuster, floder och sjöar. Ämnes- och projektbeskrivning Denna doktorandtjänst är en del av Horizon Europe-projektet HARCCA – Hotspot Resilience: Co-Construct Approaches to Coastal Climate Adaptation, koordinerat av Lunds universitet. HARCCA samlar ett internationellt konsortium bestående av 22 forskningsinstitutioner, universitet och offentliga myndigheter från Europa. Projektet utvecklar och demonstrerar innovativa lösningar för klimatresiliens i sårbara kustområden genom att kombinera avancerad riskbedömning, naturbaserade lösningar och samskapande av kunskap och klimatanpassningsåtgärder med lokalsamhället i så kallade living labs. Projektet inkluderar också utveckling av digitala verktyg för att stödja riskinformerat beslutsfattande och långsiktig anpassningsplanering. Doktorsavhandlingen kommer att fokusera på två studieplatser i Sverige (Trelleborg) och Polen (Helhalvön), båda belägna längs låglänta kuster vid Östersjön som är utsatta för erosion och översvämningsrisker. Arbetet innebär att analysera data samt tillämpa och utveckla avancerade modelleringsmetoder, inklusive men inte begränsat till PCR-modellen och SFINCS, för att kvantifiera nuvarande och framtida kustrisker. Kandidaten kommer också att utvärdera hur naturbaserade anpassningsstrategier kan minska risker under framtida klimatscenarier. Doktoranden kommer att samverka med andra aktiviteter i projektet, inklusive stöd för visualisering och kommunikation av resultat via digitala verktyg. The research area consists of approximately 15 full-time researchers along with affiliated researchers.
