We are seeking a skilled Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer with space experience of the complete chain in FEM analysis, and follow-on testing of the manufactured product and satellite systems. Collaborating with external partners (customers, payload suppliers, etc.) to define and implement different analysis models and interfaces will be an integral part of your daily responsibilities. What We’re Looking For: A structured, motivated, mechanical analysis engineer with proven leadership abilities. Ability to work independently while meeting agreed delivery schedules. Task Description: Having a lead role on mechanical, structural, and dynamic components using FEM, focusing on stress, shock, and random vibration analyses. Lead technical discussions with customers and suppliers. Supervise off-site testing of parts and inspect delivered items. Support on-site assembly of end products, such as spacecraft structures. Define and design test specifications, procedures, and setups for subsystem qualification (structures, mechanisms, units, components, actuators). Correlate FE models (e.g., fundamental frequencies, damping coefficients) with actual test results. Assist in planning and budgeting for future programs and projects. Design, assemble, and test mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE) for integration and test activities. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance within the team. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Space Engineering, or related disciplines. Minimum of 10 years of experience in design and testing environments related to CAD, mechanical FEM analysis, and design. Proven ability to lead and inspire teams and/or groups, driving projects forward. Experience within ESA projects. Good knowledge of the ECSS. Expertise with NASTRAN,Altair, Hypermesh, Optistruct Proficiency in FEM analysis, particularly in random vibration response, shock, and loads analysis. Ability to generate, read, and understand mechanical design/analysis reports and Interface Control Documents (ICDs). Clear and coherent reporting and presentation skills in English. Experience in design-to-manufacture processes. Fluent in English, both spoken and written. Located in or willing to relocate to Stockholm, Sweden. Added Advantageous Qualifications: Experience in writing test procedures for vibration and shock. Experience in requirements management and verification. Experience with CREO and/or NX (CAD) and Windchill PLM. Experience working closely with production/MAIT. Experience in GPS (Geometric Product Specifications) drawing production. Knowledge of the European Cooperation for Space Standardization (ECSS) and experience in the space industry. As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for defining and justifying the mission's Ground Segment Architecture, leading specification and requirements definition activities while actively contributing to procurement and the management of contractor developments. You will play a pivotal role within the Flight Operations Team by planning, executing, and optimizing satellite operations, maintaining spacecraft health, leading real-time anomaly responses, and guiding a small team of engineers. Consequently, your technical scope will include defining onboard failure detection autonomy, drafting flight procedures and user manuals, and planning and leading ground-based System Validation Tests (SVT). As Senior Project Controller, you will drive financial and schedule performance for some of our most important missions. You will work closely with project managers, engineering teams, procurement, and management to secure transparency, predictability, and control.
