Job description: We are looking to hire a trader to join our execution team in London. The execution team handles all trading for the firm. They are a crucial component of Pharo’s global investment team, allowing us to trade in large volumes while minimizing our footprint. Besides executing trades, they are also responsible for giving market colour to the portfolio managers, recommending trade ideas, evaluating liquidity and weighing on investment decisions. They participate in risk meetings and work closely with all our economists and portfolio managers. Execution traders are Pharo’s link to the street and are crucial to maintaining good relationships. We hire individuals who have scope to grow within the firm and who will fit in Pharo’s collegial environment. MULTILINGUAL DUE DILIGENCE PRACTICIONER We have a new and exciting role available within our Corporate Intelligence division in Cape Town. The successful candidate/s will join S-RM’s due diligence team, working on projects with a global focus. This team will service some of S-RM’s largest clients globally and contribute to the growth and success of the business. WHO ARE WE S-RM is a global intelligence and cyber security consultancy. Our Corporate Intelligence division uses the latest research and intelligence-gathering techniques to investigate how companies and individuals really do business in today’s world. We work with some of the most prominent and sophisticated organisations to help them understand partners, customers, assets and territories across the globe - the healthcare company a private equity firm wants to invest in; the prospective client a bank wants to onboard; the market a multinational wants to enter. We also provide specialised investigative support to law firms, businesses and individuals in contentious situations such as litigation, commercial disputes and internal investigations. In this role you’ll be responsible for: * Researching and writing intelligence reports on companies and individuals for due diligence and investigatory purposes; * Providing subject matter expertise on the corporate, regulatory, and political risk environments internationally; * Conducting research primarily in English, and one or more of Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, or any other European languages, on corporate and political issues; and * Presenting to managers and clients. The role will be based in our Cape Town office and is hybrid, with two days a week in office.. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We think candidates with the following skills and experience are likely to succeed as a Due Diligence Analyst at S-RM. We’re looking for someone that is able to adapt to change and work comfortably in a fast-paced environment, this person will have some or all of these skills: * Excellent research and investigative skills; * Demonstrable experience in research, writing, planning, and organising projects; * A professional working proficiency in English; * A working proficiency in one or more of Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch or Scandanavian would be highly advantageous; * A working proficiency in any of the following languages would also be beneficial, but not essential: French, Italian, Russian or other European languages; * As a minimum, a bachelor’s degree. Relevant degrees may include but are not limited to: economics, international relations, law, finance, political science, or similar; or equivalent work experience. * Experience working in a relevant commercial environment is desirable, but not essential. Relevant commercial experience may include (but is not limited to) work within the corporate intelligence sector, law, finance, investigative journalism, energy, mining, and similar industries. * Exposure to or an understanding of global corporate practices and governance.
