YOUR MISSION To support and sustain our real estate department we are seeking a solicitor to join our Real Estate team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a team where you will work with clients and colleagues of the highest calibre on a diverse range of interesting, complex and high-profile real estate work. We build long-term partnerships with Local Authorities to acquire and manage demand-driven social and affordable housing across various tenures, as per the image below. Across HSPG’s Living Sector platforms, we are actively acquiring 2,500 high-quality homes from national housebuilders and developers by the end of 2025. These properties are managed by our experienced team, grouped into portfolios, and funded by our institutional investment partners. HSPG aims to positively impacts our residents’ lives, while providing long-term, sustainable returns for our investment partners. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Core Behaviours: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Core mission As Junior Legal Counsel, your core mission is to support the successful execution of HSPG’s real estate transactions, ensuring legal processes progress efficiently and commercially. You will be an integral member of the legal team, managing and progressing a wide range of transactional and operational legal matters across the business, including loan drawdowns, acquisitions, disposals, leasing and legal support. You will enable commercial decision-making by providing practical legal guidance. This is a hands-on and execution-focused role. You will take ownership of the detail and coordination required to keep matters moving – ensuring nothing is dropped or left unresolved. You will work closely with internal teams, external lawyers and stakeholders and will proactively manage relationships and hold all parties to account to achieve seamless transaction execution aligned with HSPG’s strategic objectives. You will support with legal research, drafting and process improvement across the legal function, helping the business scale efficiently with the implementation of innovative and tech-enabled processes and strategies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Accountability You are accountable for: * Optimising drawdown and condition precedent processes to ensure efficient delivery across the group’s financing arrangements * Proactively working with external advisers and pursuing outstanding deal items to ensure timely execution * Supporting the legal team in providing clear, structured guidance to stakeholders * You are not accountable for: * Assessing the financial viability of transactions * Duplicating work undertaken by external lawyers ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Specific experience 1. Qualified solicitor practising at a UK law firm or in-house and specialising in real estate (around NQ-2PQE). In-house experience is helpful but not essential. 2. Experience leading and supporting residential and/or commercial real estate portfolio acquisitions, disposals, and financing is essential. Transactional experience in the Affordable Housing sector is beneficial but not essential. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obsess: These points get you out of bed in the morning and keep you up at night! As part of the legal team, you understand who makes the commercial decisions, who drives the business, what they want in order to feel like they’ve succeeded and whether our businesses are aligned to achieve this. * Meticulous: you have phenomenal attention to detail and ensure that legal documentation is watertight and captures all the information required. * Resilient: you have the capacity to keep making informed and timely decisions whilst under pressure, and you truly enjoy providing both legal and strategic input for internal and external stakeholders. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 90-day wins Early traction and strategic control. * Gain a solid understanding of HSPG's strategy and mission and be able to take ownership of discrete workstreams. * Foster good working relationships with our main panel firms. * Successfully drive forward: * one property acquisition to exchange/completion; and * one financing drawdown to completion. * Have assisted in streamlining at least one significant transaction process to increase efficiency (including incorporating AI into our processes). 12-month impact outcomes Material impact and results within first 12 months. * Have a comprehensive understanding of the wider business and drive at least 15 acquisition and/or drawdown processes to completion. * Maintain strong working relationships with our main panel firms. * Have implemented the streamlining of at least two significant transaction processes to increase efficiency (including incorporating AI into our processes). * Be an integral part of the team providing advice on a wide range of legal queries – including at least three queries from each of the sales, acquisitions, investment and management teams.
Senior Legal Counsel We're looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to be a core part of GetGround's legal function, providing sharp, commercially minded legal advice across the business as we scale. You'll be doing the legal work, advising on commercial contracts, product questions, regulatory matters, and everything in between. You'll be a trusted partner to teams across the business and a key part of how we manage legal risk day-to-day. THE OPPORTUNITY GetGround operates at the intersection of fintech, proptech and wealthtech. We have £2Bn+ in assets on platform, 30,000+ users across 70 countries, and a portfolio of regulated products spanning mortgages, property management, and investment tools. As we continue to grow, our legal needs are growing with us. You'll play a central role in keeping the business legally sound, moving quickly, and operating with integrity. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Commercial and Contracts * Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, partnership contracts, and customer terms * Advise business teams on contractual risk and help them make informed decisions quickly * Maintain and improve GetGround's contract templates, playbooks, and standard terms * Support the management of external counsel on matters requiring specialist input Product and Regulatory * Provide legal input on new product features, customer journeys, and platform changes * Advise on FCA regulatory requirements as they apply to GetGround's products and services * Support compliance reviews of customer-facing content and regulated communications * Help track relevant regulatory developments and flag implications for the business Corporate and General Legal * Support on corporate matters including fundraising, corporate governance, and company secretarial work * Advise on data protection and privacy matters, including GDPR compliance * Provide general legal support across the business on employment, IP, and operational matters * Help build scalable legal processes, templates, and training materials ABOUT YOU You're a UK qualified solicitor with around 4+ years PQE, ideally with a mix of private practice and some in-house exposure. You bring: * Strong commercial legal skills, with experience drafting and negotiating contracts in a fast-paced environment * A good understanding of FCA regulation and how it applies to fintech or financial services products * Intellectual curiosity and the ability to pick up new areas of law quickly * A commercial mindset; you give practical advice, not just legal analysis * The confidence to work autonomously and manage your own workload without close supervision * Clear, concise communication skills, written and verbal * A collaborative approach and genuine interest in the business, not just the legal matters Highly desirable: * Experience with property, mortgage, or investment products * In-house experience at a fast-growing fintech * Exposure to data protection, GDPR, or privacy work We know that great candidates don't always match every point on a job description.
