YOUR MISSION AT VOI As Head of Operations Strategy (Germany) you will report to the General Manager and set Voi’s operations strategy across the region, driving scalable, efficient, and high-performing operations. In this role, you will define operating models, optimise cost and performance, and ensure strong alignment between local markets and central functions to support business growth and operational excellence. This will include: Strategy & Alignment * Developing, communicating and implementing the regional operations strategy in close partnership with local and central stakeholders, ensuring alignment between markets and functions to support business growth and operational excellence. Operating Model & Performance * Developing and evolving operating models (including 3PL, workforce management, and service design) to enable scalable and efficient operations. Managing budgeting, forecasting, and cost performance, partnering with FP&S to drive financial discipline. * Overseeing unit economics, ride performance, and utilisation to inform city-level P&L decisions and market profitability. * Building and evolving performance frameworks (KPIs, dashboards, routines) and oversee data and platform management across the region, ensuring high-quality data, strong adoption, and actionable insights. * Identifying, monitoring, and preparing for city launches while delivering high-impact operational initiatives (e.g. feature rollouts, warehouse sourcing, fleet swaps, WFM model changes, 3PL implementations). Analytics & Optimisation * Driving operational and rider analytics, translating insights into actions that improve performance while balancing cost and rider experience, and addressing critical operational issues and misalignments. Leadership & Team Development * Supporting and developing the operations strategy team by setting clear goals and aligning work with strategic priorities. * Acting as a senior strategic partner to local teams * Contributing to global operations discussions, sharing insights to support cross-market alignment and capability development. WHAT YOU NEED TO EMBARK We are looking for an analytical, strategic operational leader with great interpersonal skills and the ability to influence and align stakeholders on operational initiatives with clear business outcomes. In addition, we believe the right person has: * Professional fluency in German and English * Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering, business or similar. * 6-10 years’ experience in operations strategy, logistics/field operations, or a high-growth environment. * Proven experience managing budgeting, forecasting, and operational cost performance. * Strong analytical capability with experience in deep data analysis and translating insights into strategy. * Experience driving complex, cross-functional initiatives and influencing senior stakeholders. * Strong understanding of operational models, including 3PL and workforce management. * Experience managing and developing high-performing teams. * Experience using AI in a role-specific context, with a focus on continuously improving output quality. Don’t meet every requirement? If you are excited about this role and our mission, and have relevant, transferable skills, we encourage you to apply - even if you don’t check every box. WHY VOI? Working at Voi is more than just a job; our People Promise includes a personal voyage where you will grow as a professional and be a part of a team and culture that builds something meaningful for society. In addition to this you’ll have the opportunity to: * Join Europe’s #1 micromobility operator and one of the fastest-growing scaleups * Get “skin in the game” through our employee stock options program and have a key role in driving our operational success in Germany. * Work with inspiring, motivated and fun colleagues towards a shared mission * Join the micromobility-revolution and be a part of creating sustainable cities made for living, free from noise and pollution.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES IN THIS ROLE? We’re hiring a (Senior) Operations & AI Lead to bring structure, scale, and AI-driven leverage to how AVOW runs. This is a builder’s role: you’ll shape how the company works day-to-day and how we use AI to do more with less. You’ll drive operational excellence across the business, process, tooling, cross-functional coordination and you’ll lead AVOW’s AI implementation from concept to deployed reality. You’ll report directly to the COO and work closely with the wider Senior Leadership team. WHAT YOU’LL OWN Operations * Drive operational efficiency across the company, identify bottlenecks, redesign processes, and help build the operating system that lets AVOW scale without proportional headcount growth. * Partner with C-level peers to align cross-functional priorities and unblock operational dependencies. * Partner with the Product team on tool and platform rollouts, serving as the operational bridge between what's built and how it gets embedded into team workflows * Own the post-launch phase of any tool or process implementation: monitor adoption, collect feedback, troubleshoot friction, and iterate — success is measured by actual usage, not deployment * Scope to take on people leadership as the operations function grows. AI Strategy & Implementation * Shape and execute AVOW’s AI strategy, where we use it, where we deliberately don’t, and what we expect from it commercially and operationally. * Partner closely with our Data Protection Officer to develop and maintain AI policy and ensure compliance with GDPR, the EU AI Act, and internal data governance standards. * Design, build, and govern internal AI workflows that automate manual processes across the company. * Set the standards for quality, oversight, and human-in-the-loop review of AI-driven outputs. * Upskill the organization through workshops, playbooks, and reusable templates that make AI usable for non-technical colleagues. WHAT ARE THE STRENGTHS, TRANSFERABLE SKILLS, AND BEHAVIORS THAT DRIVE SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE? * 5+ years of experience in operations, business operations, project management, or a comparable role, ideally in a tech or digital company. * A demonstrated track record of designing and implementing AI or automation initiatives that delivered measurable business impact (cost, time, or quality). * Comfortable operating cross-functionally with C-level peers in an international, fast-moving environment. * Hands-on enough to build the first version yourself; strategic enough to design the next ten. * A sharp commercial instinct, you measure success in business outcomes, not output volume. TECH FAMILIARITY You don’t need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable with the modern AI and automation stack: LLMs (Claude, Gemini), workflow orchestration (n8n, Make), and lightweight scripting (JavaScript, JSON). VS Code or a similar IDE is part of your daily toolkit. Two notes before you apply: 1. We know that individuals who identify as women, trans, or non-binary tend to hesitate to apply for a role unless they meet almost all the requirements. If that resonates with you, we want to be clear: we're more interested in your potential than your ability to tick every box. Apply anyway. 2. On compensation — at AVOW, pay is structured around a clear grade and level framework, with decisions based on objective criteria: your experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility, and role-specific requirements. We're transparent about how we make these decisions and will be discussing the details from our very first engagement. WHAT DOES OUR HIRING PROCESS LOOK LIKE? 1. Intro call: A casual chat with our TA team to learn more about you and give you a real feel for who we are and what we're building. 2. Deep dive: A more in-depth conversation with your future hiring manager. Expect an honest discussion about the role, the team, and what success looks like. 3. Problem-solving + presentation: Time to show your thinking. You'll work through a real challenge and share your approach with the team. 4. Meet the team: An informal coffee chat with a potential future colleague. No agenda — just a chance to get a feel for the people you'd be working with. WHAT DO WE OFFER? * Learning & Development opportunities * Sabbatical policy * Subsidies for public transportation, sports, and German courses * Bike leasing program * Healthy (also not so healthy) snacks in the office every day * Experienced, innovative, diverse team We are looking forward to getting your application!
