As our System Administrator / IT Support Engineer within the Corporate IT team, you'll be the person Berlin-based Taxfixers turn
to when their laptop won't cooperate, their access needs sorting, or their first day needs to feel effortless.
You'll own day-to-day IT support end to end — from resolving tickets with care and speed, to making sure every new joiner has a

THE OPPORTUNITY: As our System Administrator / IT Support Engineer within the Corporate IT team, you'll be the person Berlin-based Taxfixers turn to when their laptop won't cooperate, their access needs sorting, or their first day needs to feel effortless. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Resolve day-to-day IT support tickets independently, keeping response quality high and at least 90% of tickets within SLA. * Own the full Berlin onboarding and offboarding journey, making sure every new joiner has hardware and account access ready on day one. * Keep our hardware inventory accurate and up to date, and build simple processes that make asset tracking easier going forward. * Grow our self-service knowledge base with clear, practical guides that help people solve common issues themselves. * Plan ahead on IT procurement together with the wider IT team, so new hires and existing employees never wait on missing equipment. * Keep the Berlin office in the loop with a regular update on IT changes, known issues, and best practices. * Contribute to strategic Corporate IT initiatives, such as a device lifecycle policy, a VPN rollout, or software standardisation. * Partner with People & IT to build a simple way to collect feedback on support and onboarding, piloting it within nine months and making it part of how we work by month twelve. YOUR PROFILE: * You bring 2–3 years of experience in IT support, service desk, workplace technology, or systems administration. * You genuinely enjoy helping people, listening well and explaining things clearly regardless of someone's technical background. * You're comfortable working through ambiguous problems independently — asking the right questions, digging into root causes, and knowing when to bring in someone else. * You have around two years of hands-on macOS support experience, confidently handling networking, login and access, app troubleshooting, permissions, peripherals, and basic hardware issues. * You're familiar with SaaS tools like Google Workspace, Slack, or Notion. You've had practical exposure to device or identity workflows such as MDM enrolment or account lifecycle management in tools like Jamf, Kandji, Okta, or JumpCloud, ideally including some IAM work like user lifecycle, access groups, MFA, or SSO troubleshooting. * You think beyond the fix. When you spot a recurring issue, you turn it into a documented process or a better guide, and use user feedback to keep improving support and onboarding. * Ideally, you've helped structure onboarding at scale in a growing company, and you're comfortable using light scripting or no-code automation to cut down on manual work. * You're a clear, approachable communicator who enjoys contributing to internal IT guidance and keeping people informed about changes or known issues. THE OPPORTUNITY: As our Staff Systems Engineer within the IT & Infrastructure team, you'll be responsible for keeping the enterprise systems that power Taxfix running reliably, securely, and intelligently — from cloud infrastructure and identity management to network, device, and application performance. Reporting to our Director of IT & Infrastructure, and collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders across the business, you'll architect and operate the backbone that enables every team at Taxfix to do their best work. In a company that moves fast and thinks big, you'll be the person who makes sure the foundation never wobbles. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Maintain and operate enterprise cloud infrastructure that serves employees and internal systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security at all times. * Lead and evolve identity management across the enterprise — including platform management and Okta — developing concepts and processes to govern both human and agentic identities in a scalable, secure way. * Support the integration of new tools and systems based on business requirements, owning the technical evaluation, onboarding, and configuration end to end. * Ensure enterprise systems remain up to date, with security configurations, patches, and compliance standards consistently applied across the board. * Maintain security backups and redundancies for enterprise infrastructure, proactively identifying and closing gaps before they become incidents. * Manage and improve network, device management, and systems, keeping the environment stable, modern, and fit for a growing, hybrid workforce. * Develop automations, AI-powered and agentic solutions, and scripts that reduce manual toil and improve the efficiency of infrastructure maintenance. * Provide third-level support for cloud applications, acting as the deepest technical escalation point for complex issues and enablement of internal app deployment. * Collaborate with SRE and platform engineering to assess risk, develop guardrails, and resolve incidents together with application owners. * Collaborate with the Director of IT to continuously improve the enterprise architecture and infrastructure landscape, contributing strategic thinking alongside hands-on execution. * Own performance tuning of application stacks, including communication and messaging between applications, load management, and components such as Apache and Ruby. YOUR PROFILE * You bring strong, hands-on experience in enterprise cloud administration — ideally with GCP — and know how to design, operate, and scale cloud environments that real businesses depend on. * You have solid practical experience with Kubernetes, containerisation, and virtualisation technologies such as Docker and VMware, and you're comfortable navigating complex, layered infrastructure. * Your networking knowledge is deep and grounded — TCP/IP and related protocols are second nature to you, and you can diagnose and resolve network issues with confidence. * You implement best practices for network security and governance, ensuring that access, segmentation, and policy controls are consistently applied and continuously improved. * You're proficient in at least one scripting or programming language such as Python or shell, and you use code as a tool to make infrastructure smarter and more maintainable. * You have hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Google Workspace and Linux environments, and you know how to keep them healthy and secure. * You've set up and improved monitoring and visualisation systems, and you understand how good observability translates into faster incident response and better decision-making. * A background in engineering or computer science is a plus — what matters most is that you bring structured thinking and hands-on experience to make systems work together. YOUR CHALLENGE: Taxfix makes tax filing simple, fast, and accessible for millions of users across Europe. Behind the product sits a data platform that powers everything from business analytics and regulatory reporting to ML and AI-driven product features. We’re growing and the platform needs to grow with us. We are looking for an experienced Data Platform Engineer to design, build, and operate the infrastructure and pipelines that make data at Taxfix reliable, compliant, and ready for AI. You will own the systems that move data from operational databases, APIs, and SaaS tools into our analytical environment and make sure that data is correct, timely, and safe to use. Your work will directly enable ML and AI-powered product experiences, self-serve analytics, and regulatory reporting. YOUR TEAM: The Data Platform team is part of the Data Organization, which enables everyone at Taxfix to make data-driven decisions, drive business growth, and power ML and automation in our products. Within our group we have product analysts, analytics engineers, machine learning engineers, and data engineers working across the whole company. The platform team serves many consumers analytics, ML, product, and compliance so you can expect to join cross-functional project teams regularly, working alongside backend and frontend engineers, analysts, ML engineers, product and design. Team members are all data engineers but from different backgrounds. We rely on each other to deliver our best, grow together, share knowledge openly, and invest in personal development through mentoring and innovation. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DECISIONS: * Contribute to and operate cloud platform infrastructure - manage GCP resources (GCS, Dataflow, Dataproc, k8s, Pub/Sub…), provision and maintain environments with Terraform and help ensure the platform is reliable, predictable, cost-efficient and scalable * Build and maintain ingestion pipelines that capture changes from application databases, APIs, SaaS and deliver clean, analytics-ready tables to our cloud data warehouse * Operate and improve our orchestration layer - scheduling, retries, SLA tracking, and observability for data pipelines * Design data models with proper layering that handle real-world data complexity: out-of-order events, schema evolution, late arrivals, and backfills * Own data quality monitoring - build validation, monitoring, and alerting that catches problems before downstream consumers do * Implement privacy and compliance controls - anonymization, pseudonymization, access policies, and deletion propagation (GDPR right-to-be-forgotten) across raw and derived layers * Prepare data for ML and AI use cases - build governed, privacy-safe datasets and feature pipelines that ML engineers and data scientists can use for model training, evaluation, and production inference * Use AI effectively in engineering workflows - leverage AI-assisted development where it improves delivery quality and speed, and share best practices with the team * Build scalable AI platform capabilities - develop reusable, production-grade patterns for AI workloads (governed data access, privacy-safe telemetry, evaluation datasets, and cost/quality monitoring) that multiple teams can adopt YOUR PROFILE: * 4+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role (backend engineer working on data-intensive systems counts) * Strong Python skills for data pipeline development - you write production code, not just scripts * Strong SQL skills - window functions, CTEs, query optimization are second nature * Experience with event-driven data pipelines - CQRS, event ordering, idempotency, and the difference between initial load and incremental processing * Expert with Airflow - you’ve built DAGs with proper task dependencies, retries, and monitoring * Strong Snowflake or other modern data warehouse knowledge - resource management (compute/warehouse sizing, concurrency), security & governance (roles/RBAC, column/row-level masking), columnar storage & partitioning/clustering concepts, and query performance & cost optimization in production * Cloud platform experience - you’ve worked with GCP (GCS, Dataflow, Dataproc etc) or equivalent AWS/Azure services and understand how to manage cloud resources at scale * Infrastructure-as-code - experience with Terraform, Helm, or similar tools for provisioning and managing cloud environments * K8S and Docker containerization - you package and deploy your own work * Data quality mindset - you profile data, validate assumptions, build checks, and don’t trust that “the data looked clean” * Data for AI readiness - you have experience preparing data for ML and AI use cases with appropriate governance, lineage, and privacy controls * Awareness of data privacy requirements - you can identify PII, understand GDPR, and know how to implement anonymization and deletion across multiple data layers * AI-enabled engineering practices - you actively use AI assistants and code generation tools to accelerate development and deliver, and you share effective practices with the team WHY TAXFIX? * A chance to do meaningful, people-centric work with an international team of passionate professionals. * Holistic well-being with free mental health coaching sessions and yoga. * A monthly allowance to spend on an extensive range of services that you can use and roll over as flexibly as you like. * Employee stock options for all employees because everyone deserves to benefit from the success they help to create. * 30 annual vacation days and flexible working hours. * Work from abroad for up to six weeks every year.
