As the business continues to grow, we are looking for an Office Coordinator who can help create a welcoming, well-run and engaging office environment for our people, clients, suppliers and visitors. Purpose The Office Coordinator will play a central role in ensuring the Bristol office is welcoming, organised, safe, well-presented and fit for purpose. Acting as one of the first points of contact for visitors, employees, suppliers and external partners, this person will help create a professional and positive impression of Amdaris while supporting the smooth running of day-to-day office operations. The successful candidate will be proactive, highly organised and comfortable working independently. They will take ownership of the office environment, ensuring it remains tidy, engaging and well-stocked, while also supporting events, office culture, facilities coordination, health and safety activity, and future larger-scale projects. This role would suit someone who genuinely cares about people’s experience at work, enjoys bringing positive energy to a space, and is confident coordinating tasks, suppliers and stakeholders with minimal supervision. Key Accountabilities * Create a welcoming, professional and positive experience for employees, clients and visitors, acting as a key ambassador for the Bristol office. * Ensure the office environment remains organised, tidy, well-stocked and fit for purpose, maintaining high standards across all shared spaces. * Coordinate office facilities, including suppliers, contractors, maintenance, cleaning, waste management and health & safety requirements. * Manage office supplies, refreshments, snacks and catering, continuously enhancing the employee and visitor experience. * Support onboarding activities for new employees, including office orientation, access arrangements and welcome packs * Organise and coordinate internal events, team activities, client visits and office engagement initiatives that support company culture. * Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure the smooth running of office operations. * Take ownership of day-to-day office management while supporting larger workplace, culture and facilities projects as the business grows. What to Expect The Head of Engineering Capability is accountable for establishing, governing, and continuously improving the engineering operating model across Vertical Aerospace. This role ensures that engineering frameworks, processes, competencies, tools, and performance management systems enable consistent, high-quality delivery aligned with regulatory requirements and the company’s Type Certification objectives for the Valo aircraft. The role combines operational excellence, capability development, performance governance, and strategic enablement. It is central to redefining aerospace engineering best practice within a Design Organisation Approval (DOA) environment. What You'll Do 1. Engineering Operating Model & Capability Development Engineering Frameworks & Standards * Define, implement, and continuously improve engineering processes, methodologies, governance structures, and best practices. * Ensure alignment with DOA requirements, certification standards, and internal quality management systems. * Drive standardisation and maturity of engineering tools and ways of working. Technology & Tooling Roadmap * Develop and own a strategic roadmap for engineering tools and digital enablement, including AI-driven solutions. * Oversee adoption, integration, and optimisation of new technologies to improve productivity, quality, and traceability. Skills, Competence & Authorisations * Lead engineering skills and competency assessments to ensure compliance with DOA scope. * Establish and maintain an engineering competency framework, including defined career pathways. * Oversee engineering authorisations and capability assurance processes. Training & Development * Own the Engineering Training Programme in partnership with the Engineering Leadership Team and People Team. * Ensure targeted capability uplift aligned to programme and certification needs. Resource & Partner Integration * Support engineering resource planning in collaboration with Programme Management. * Oversee effective integration and coordination of design subcontractors, suppliers, and partners to ensure capability consistency and governance compliance. Intellectual Property * Coordinate patent strategy, applications, and approvals in collaboration with the Legal & Affairs Team. 2. Engineering Performance Governance KPI Framework & Performance Management * Define and implement a robust engineering performance framework covering quality, productivity, cost, schedule adherence, and certification readiness. * Establish clear, measurable KPIs aligned to programme milestones and corporate objectives. Data & Reporting * Develop and maintain executive dashboards and reporting mechanisms. * Analyse performance data to identify trends, systemic risks, and improvement opportunities. * Provide regular, evidence-based performance insights to senior leadership. Continuous Improvement * Drive structured performance reviews. * Embed a culture of data-led decision making and continuous improvement across engineering. 3. Issue Resolution & Escalation Leadership * Act as a senior escalation point for complex cross-functional engineering challenges. * Facilitate structured problem-solving and decision-making processes. * Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) frameworks. * Ensure systemic lessons learned are institutionalised within engineering processes. 4. Strategic Leadership & Organisational Development * Contribute to the long-term strategic direction of the engineering organisation. * Ensure engineering capability evolves in line with company growth, certification timelines, and industrialisation requirements. * Lead or support audits, capability reviews, and regulatory engagements as required. * Mentor and coach engineering leaders to strengthen organisational maturity and leadership depth. What to Expect As a Senior Systems Integration Engineer, you will take ownership of how the EPU is physically integrated into the aircraft, ensuring it performs safely, efficiently, and reliably throughout its lifecycle. Reporting into the Head of EPU, you will work at the centre of the aircraft architecture, collaborating closely with structures, stress, manufacturing, maintenance, and supplier teams. You will balance competing priorities - from managing complex interfaces and configurations to reducing mass and ensuring structural integrity - while supporting certification activities. This role offers the opportunity to shape a critical system that carries primary load paths within the aircraft, with direct impact on safety, performance, and delivery. What You’ll Do * Own the physical integration of the Electric Propulsion Unit (EPU) into the aircraft, ensuring safe, efficient, and certifiable installation * Define and manage EPU space allocation within the aircraft digital mock-up, maintaining alignment as the design evolves * Deliver 3D CAD models and installation drawings to support design, manufacturing, and certification * Establish and control physical interfaces through clear interface definitions and documentation, aligning with internal teams and external suppliers * Translate integration needs into structured, verifiable requirements and lead their validation * Drive mass reduction across the EPU installation while maintaining structural integrity and safety margins * Manage EPU configurations and ensure consistency across design, analysis, and build * Work with stress and fatigue specialists to ensure the structure and interfaces meet lifetime load requirements * Define verification approaches and support test activities to demonstrate compliance with certification requirements * Contribute to certification activities, including documentation and engagement with regulatory authorities What You’ll Bring * A degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent experience * Experience integrating electro-mechanical systems or complex powertrain systems in aerospace, automotive, marine, rail or similar context * Confidence working across interacting and aligning with multiple disciplines and functions to deliver an optimised integration solution * Experience defining physical interfaces, writing clear and structured requirements, and validating them effectively * Understanding of aerospace materials, mechanical fastening, and structural design principles * Understanding of mechanical loads and how stress and fatigue considerations influence design * Experience using CAD tools such as CATIA to integrate components and produce installation drawings * Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and external partners * Good organisational skills and the ability to manage detailed work in a fast-paced environment * Familiarity with configuration management and version control Nice to Have * Experience supporting structural or mechanical testing activities * Exposure to stress or fatigue analysis in an aerospace environment * Understanding of electric propulsion systems, including motors, inverters, and control principles * Experience working with high-voltage systems * Experience across the full product lifecycle, from concept through to production and in-service support * Familiarity with requirements management tools such as DOORS or JAMA * Experience using data analysis tools such as MATLAB or Python What can you expect from us?
