The position works closely with owners, construction teams, commissioning agents, engineers, and trade partners to ensure electrical systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements. The individual will provide technical leadership to drive commissioning readiness, quality compliance, and successful project delivery. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Lead electrical commissioning activities across all project phases, from design review through startup, functional testing, integrated systems testing, and final handover. * Review Issued for Construction (IFC) drawings, electrical specifications, one-line diagrams, shop drawings, and sequences of operation to support commissioning readiness. * Develop and execute electrical commissioning plans, procedures, pre-functional checklists, functional test scripts, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST) procedures. * Coordinate commissioning activities with owners, construction management teams, engineering, subcontractors, OEMs, and commissioning stakeholders. * Lead installation verification and QA/QC walkdowns to confirm systems are installed in accordance with project specifications and approved drawings. * Perform quality inspections of switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, RPPs, busway, MCCs, panelboards, protective relays, grounding systems, and associated electrical infrastructure. * Witness and support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), pre-functional inspections, energization activities, functional performance testing, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST). * Verify electrical installations including cable routing, terminations, torque verification, insulation resistance testing, grounding continuity, labeling, and asset tagging. * Validate breaker settings, protective relay coordination, alarms, interlocks, failover sequences, control logic, and system integration prior to turnover. * Support electrical startup, energization planning, switching activities, load bank testing, and system restoration while maintaining strict adherence to safety requirements. * Identify, document, and drive resolution of commissioning deficiencies, punch list items, and non-conformance reports (NCRs) through final closeout. * Verify corrective actions and conduct re-inspections to ensure compliance with project quality requirements. * Maintain commissioning documentation including inspection reports, test records, issue logs, turnover packages, and final commissioning reports. * Utilize commissioning management platforms and document control systems to monitor system readiness, testing progress, and KPI performance. * Ensure compliance with project specifications, NFPA, NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA, owner standards, and applicable Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements. * Lead commissioning coordination meetings and provide regular updates on system readiness, commissioning progress, quality metrics, risks, and schedule impacts. * Support owner acceptance, turnover documentation, and training activities for facility operations teams. * Mentor commissioning engineers and technicians while promoting commissioning best practices and continuous improvement. * Promote and enforce a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with LOTO procedures, energized electrical work practices, and site EH&S requirements. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role. SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong knowledge of electrical commissioning processes within mission-critical, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or industrial facilities. * Experience commissioning medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems including switchgear, UPS systems, generators, transformers, MCCs, PDUs, RPPs, and protective relays. * Strong understanding of QA/QC principles, inspection processes, and electrical construction quality standards. * Experience leading FAT, SAT, pre-functional inspections, functional testing, and Integrated Systems Testing (IST). * Ability to interpret electrical one-line diagrams, control schematics, IFC drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation. * Knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC), NFPA 70E, IEEE, NETA, and industry commissioning standards. * Experience with commissioning software platforms, issue tracking systems, and document control applications. * Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root cause analysis skills. * Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities. * Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple commissioning activities simultaneously. * Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS * Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field preferred. * Journeyman Electrician certification preferred  * OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred. * NETA certification preferred. * NFPA 70E Electrical Safety training preferred. * Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Kildare. In this role, you will join a highly experienced onsite team responsible for the delivery of Electrical LV system scopes within an active manufacturing environment. LotusWorks has provided continuous support to this client site for over two decades, backed by established onsite management structures, reliable administrative support, and a collaborative, performance-driven team culture. RESPONSIBILITIES: * This position is responsible for the commissioning and de-commissioning of a range of LV Electrical Systems, including but not limited to those listed below: * LV Distribution Panels (Continuous & Emergency Power)  * Distribution Panels (General Services)  * LCP / MCC Panels  * Transformers  * UPS Systems  * VSDs / VFDs & Associated Motors, Pumps, Fans  * Heat Trace Systems  * Process Tool Energisations & De-Energisations * Work as an Electrical Commissioning Technician as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team supporting Electrical commissioning and de-commissioning activities. * Document, execute, and close out Electrical LSRs (Live Service Requests) and DSLs (De-Installs). * Prepare Electrical power‑up documentation in line with the tool installation process. * Demonstrate ownership and initiative in a high‑paced, schedule‑driven environment. * Deliver assigned tasks in line with project milestones and safety requirements. * Carry out all duties in a manner that poses no risk to personnel safety or facility operations. * Commission & De-Commission Electrical Systems in accordance with project specifications and site procedures. * Perform pre-flight commissioning & de-commissioning site field walks and document any issues found / generate punch lists for resolution, prior to handover. * Work with Operations and Engineering teams to develop testing protocols and system start‑up procedures. * Safely troubleshoot and resolve Electrical issues in a live manufacturing environment. * Generate and execute commissioning documentation including OATs and FATs (Operational and Functional Acceptance Tests). * Work to tight timelines while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. * Ensure documentation complies with client quality and commissioning requirements. * Generate, execute, and maintain commissioning documentation in a controlled and organised manner. * Record test results and system performance data. * Support the closure of identified field issues and verify that all corrective actions have been effectively implemented. * Interact and respond to Project and Commissioning Leads direction. * Attend daily meetings and provide accurate status updates on assigned systems and activities. * Co-ordinate with commissioning, operations, engineering, and safety teams to support system readiness. * Execute all works in strict accordance with site safety protocols, procedures, permits, and approved documentation. * The role involves the commissioning and de-commissioning of multiple Electrical Systems, executed with unwavering adherence to COHE (Control of Hazardous Energy) procedures to ensure the highest standards of safety and operational control. * Maintain exceptional attention to detail & safety standards, particularly when working on live Electrical Systems Identify, report, and mitigate any risks associated with Electrical commissioning and de-commissioning activities * Communicate clearly and professionally with peers, supervisors, and client stakeholders.  SKILLS REQUIRED: * Strong working knowledge of LV Electrical Systems, including operation, design, and testing practices. * Proven experience in the start‑up and commissioning of Electrical equipment and systems. * Proficient in incorporating LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out) and COHE procedures in operational environments to ensure equipment isolation, hazard control, and personnel safety. * Knowledge of VSD & VFD drives is considered an advantage. * Demonstrated understanding of MCCB types and their performance characteristics is considered a notable advantage. * High attention to detail, particularly regarding safety‑critical systems. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic fast‑paced environment. * Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite applications, with the ability to produce accurate documentation and support operational tasks. * Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills. * Any other duties or responsibilities that may be assigned to you in your role.    EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: * Time‑served Electrical Trade qualification, or a Degree in Electrical Engineering. * A minimum of four years of applicable Electrical industry experience. * Certification in Electrical testing & verification is considered an advantage. * Proof of education, trade credentials, and any other additional certifications will be required where applicable.
