ABOUT THE ROLE The Technology Data and Intelligence (TDI) team at Okta is dedicated to boosting internal efficiency through the implementation of secure, scalable, and innovative systems. We are seeking an independent Senior Software Engineer to join our formed Sales and Partners Technology Team. In this role, you will be the technical anchor for our partner ecosystem technology. You will balance core software engineering excellence (API design, code quality, security) with deep specialization in our Partner Relationship Management (PRM) platform, IMPartner. Your primary focus will be on maintaining, enhancing, and expanding the capabilities of the IMPartner platform and ensuring its seamless, secure integration with Salesforce. Requirements: * Solution Design and Architecture: Architect and design secure, scalable solutions by translating complex business requirements into technical specifications and solution designs that leverage the IMPartner platform's capabilities and its necessary integration points with Salesforce. Deep focus on the Partners and PRM domain.Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement integrations between Salesforce, Okta’s Partner portals, partner portal tenant, and other cross-functional downstream systems to ensure a seamless data flow (ex. for partner account and contact, accreditation and certification, partner badges, program benefit administration, deal registration and partner program performance and pipeline visibility, etc.). * Technical Implementation: Lead the translation of user stories into robust, scalable technical designs. Responsible for the end-to-end execution of features, ensuring alignment with organizational standards. * Quality Assurance and Testing: Ensure 100% unit test coverage for all new logic. Build and maintain an automated test regression suite to minimize manual overhead and proactively identify regressions. * Code and Peer Mentorship: Conduct thorough Pull Request (PR) reviews, providing constructive feedback to junior and mid-level developers to maintain code quality and consistency. * Deployment and Release Support: Manage the deployment cycle, including documenting all changes, securing necessary Jira approvals, resolving environment-specific test issues, and performing final validation in Production. * Global Collaboration & Ownership: Demonstrated strong ownership and the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate seamlessly with cross-functional, global teams and stakeholders. Required Qualifications * Extensive knowledge of PRM platforms with (proven experience in IMPartner is a big plus) * Salesforce Development Expertise (5+ years): Proven proficiency in Salesforce development, including Apex, Process/Flow Automations, and Lightning Web Components (LWC). * Software Development Acumen (1-2 years): background in general software engineering principles, with experience in either Java, Python, or JavaScript. * Domain Specific Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and practical experience within the Sales and Partners ecosystem, specifically around partner lifecycle management, deal registration, and incentive programs. * Advanced AI Agent Frameworks & Data Processing: Expertise in modern AI agent or agentforce frameworks, orchestration techniques, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and advanced vector search methodologies. * CI/CD Pipeline Proficiency: Hands-on experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines * Secure Salesforce Solution Development: Deep understanding and practical application of Salesforce security features, adherence to data privacy regulations, and implementation of best practices for secure solution development. * Communication, & Problem-Solving: Possesses excellent communication and robust problem-solving abilities. Capable of independently driving technical direction, mentoring team members, fostering collaboration, and effectively managing all project aspects. Mission Brief As a Proposal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing technically robust and commercially competitive proposals for commercial and institutional launch service programs. Working within the Mission Engineering team and in close coordination with the Commercial team, you will lead and support launch service bid activities, ensuring proposals accurately reflect system capabilities, constraints, and the development roadmap. Your work will include technical analyses, structured proposal documentation, and direct participation in customer‑facing technical exchanges. This role provides direct exposure to both the technical and commercial aspects of launch service proposals, with a strong emphasis on structured engineering thinking, technical credibility, and clear communication. Your Role in Our Space Mission In this role, you will: * Develop customer‑facing technical proposal content, including mission concepts, system descriptions, trade‑offs, and compliance matrices. * Analyse customer, institutional, and program‑level requirements and translate them into clear, concise, and traceable technical responses, including documented assumptions, constraints, and exclusions. * Coordinate with Mission Engineering and relevant subject‑matter experts to generate technically credible and internally aligned proposal inputs. * Translate complex technical concepts into clear, structured proposal material suitable for both customers and non‑technical stakeholders. * Contribute to bid / no‑bid decisions by assessing technical feasibility, compliance status, schedule drivers, and key technical risks. * Act as a technical point of contact for customer technical exchanges, clarification calls, and written Q&A activities throughout the bid phase. * Define and refine technical Statements of Work (SoWs) and associated deliverables, and support technical clarification activities during early contract development. * Translate customer and contractual requirements into well‑defined inputs for internal development and engineering teams during proposal and contract handover phases. * Contribute, where appropriate, to mission engineering analysis or development activities that strengthen proposal assumptions, reference missions, and overall technical credibility. * Consolidate customer feedback and market inputs to support the evolution of future launch service offerings. * Participate in customer meetings alongside commercial leads, building confidence through technically sound contributions and consistent technical messaging. Qualification Checklist * Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline. * 3–5 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: spacecraft or launch vehicle design, systems engineering, technical sales, or similar technical roles. * Strong written and oral communication skills for technical topics, including customer-facing documentation and proposals. Ability to communicate technical topics clearly in both written and oral form. * Strong written communication skills for structured, customer‑facing technical documentation and proposals. * Prior exposure to customer‑facing engineering documentation, technical proposals, or feasibility studies. * Familiarity with ESA or other institutional space programs, including associated processes and documentation styles. * Ability to analyse technical and programmatic requirements and support the development of structured, traceable technical responses. * Solid understanding of space missions, spacecraft systems, or launch vehicle capabilities. * Experience with CAD design and / or mission analysis for spacecraft. * Fluent written and spoken English. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR? * Previous experience in a customer facing role with a complex API product, ideally in payments, or B2B. * Complete understanding of what it takes to provide outstanding Customer Support, end to end, as well as a passion for building a fantastic 'Support Experience' - i.e. writing clear documentation, collaborating in tickets etc. * Expertise in troubleshooting, root cause analysis, effort assessment, and postmortem process. * Ideally experience working on On-Call and on Incident Management processes, and in drafting Status Page updates. * An understanding of software testing and wider infrastructure, and a good understanding of the entire development process (design, development and deployment). * Experience working in a fast-paced and scaling environment, with shifting priorities and last-minute developments.
