With us, you get the opportunity to realize your dreams, big and small. 📝 JOB DESCRIPTION Our clients seeks a highly skilled Chief Exterior Designer for both complete exteriors and lighting and components to join their Design Studio in Gothenburg. You will help define the exterior shape and the lighting solutions for their vehicle by conceiving, simulating, and prototyping advanced concepts that merge brand identity, safety, and emotion. You will work with total exteriors and lighting/component design, collaborating with engineering and suppliers to deliver future designs in exteriors and lighting that meets regulatory and performance targets.   ✅ REQUIREMENTS • Bachelor’s degree (preferably Masters) in Industrial/Product/Transportation Design, Interaction/Lighting Design, or similar. • 8+ years of professional experience in a leading role in the automotive exterior design with a strong portfolio. • Proficiency with exterior design and visualisation tools (Blender & Adobe Creative Suite). • Demonstrated experience in managing the translating of concepts into feasible, manufacturable solutions with suppliers and engineering on board. • Excellent communication in English (both written and verbal), with strong leadership and presentation skills. • Managing people with a prototyping mindset; electrical/electronic basics and rapid prototyping skills are a plus. • Knowledge of automotive regulations and constraints is a must. 💫 YOUR PROFILE • Manage designers who create and deliver complete exterior design projects and worked with lighting concepts exterior systems (ambient, functional, and communication lighting). • Manage the Development of exterior solutions that match technical constraints, suggesting light integrations into the vehicle's form (surfaces, gaps, joints, materials). • Translate brand DNA into iconic design signatures and dynamic behaviors (e.g., welcome/farewell, charging indication, Interior Light themes, ADAS-linked signals). • Create and lead engaging presentations or in some cases prototypes that effectively convey intent to stakeholders and suppliers. • Technically rigorous with an eye for refined aesthetics and brand character. • Manage structured and methodical; able to plan, document, and drive issues to closure. • Collaborative and be a clear team communicator; comfortable managing technical reviews with stakeholders and suppliers. • Proactive, hands‐on, and resourceful under time constraints. • Independent and proactive with a high sense of responsibility to the team. 🌈 MERITS • Experience with leading exterior design teams • Long experience working in or with automotive design studios and Tier‐1 suppliers. 🏙 PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT Gothenburg 💭 OTHER • Travel to China may be needed • Fluent in English, spoken and written. • A valid driver’s license is preferred. The work tasks would consist of 3D physical model development. Clay modelling on exterior and interior models, 3D scanning of physical models, preparation of model armatures, preparation of models and parts for milling and paint. ✅ REQUIREMENTS • Experience in clay modelling. • Knowledge in modern studio techniques. • Experience in on plate milling is an advantage. • Experience and a good understanding of scanning software 💫 YOUR PROFILE Good Communication Skills, Honest, Technically Competent, Good Work Ethic, Flexible, Determined and Persistent, Team Collaborative, Willing to Share and Learn new methods, Creative and innovative but structured, methodical, and analytical with good planning skills.   If you are passionate about development, we want to hear from you.
