About the Role You will step into a senior controlling role in an innovation-driven company within the automotive and powertrain sector, where R&D investments, project priorities, and financial steering have a direct impact on business decisions. In this assignment, you will work close to R&D leadership, Finance, and operational teams to create clarity in a complex environment and turn R&D activities into actionable financial insight. Job DescriptionYou will drive financial steering of the R&D portfolio, with focus on cost drivers, run-rate versus project spend, and performance against targets. You will lead planning, forecasting, and scenario work to support prioritization, trade-offs, and resource and cost outlooks. You will deliver executive-level reporting with clear insights on risks, opportunities, and recommended actions. You will provide financial support for investment decisions and business cases, including follow-up on expected benefits. You will strengthen governance, routines, controls, KPI definitions, cost allocation logic, and data quality across R&D. You will act as a senior business partner to managers and stakeholders, helping create clarity and accountability in decision-making. You will connect R&D, Finance, and other functions to align assumptions, reporting logic, and financial flows. You will identify and implement smarter ways of working in analysis, reporting, and planning. You may also collaborate with external customers or partners related to reporting, follow-up, and decision support. RequirementsA degree in Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a similar field. Significant experience, typically 7+ years, in controlling, FP&A, or business partnering in a complex environment. Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders, influence decisions, and challenge constructively. Strong capability in financial analysis, forecasting, performance management, and translating operational reality into financial impact. Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial flows. Advanced Excel skills and strong systems understanding. Fluency in English, written and spoken. Nice to haveExperience with SAP and/or Power BI. Background in R&D controlling, project controlling, or product development environments.
